Canvas: 'Hey I want this really detailed tattoo, with these specific colours' Tattoo Artist: 'sorry that's not going to work, bc of this, this, and this, it will simply not look good or age well' Canvas: 'I don't care, I still want that.' Kyle got screwed by the judges... Amanda's tattoo was atrocious. It didn't even look like a Japanese temple. Kyle's tattoo was clean even though it had one technical issue, but it was from the location on the body. Amanda deserved to get sent home for that one, not Kyle.

I think sometimes the judges forget that the goal of a tattoo is to look good. they get so nitpicky, which is fine since they are judges, but they give too much weight to the technical side of things. both tattoos had technical errors, but the overall composition of Kyle's was FAR better. Dave is IMO the best judge a lot of times because he understands this better than the others, given he is not a tattooer himself and therefore does a better job relating to the canvas.

the concept of the show is to win the competition, not to make your canvases happy, so unfortunately, that isnt and shouldnt be priority 1 on InkMaster. as far as tattooing in general goes for sure, why would you ever intentionally degrade a permanent fixture on someone elses body before its even placed.

I remember in Ryan Ashley’s season one episode they sent someone home because of their track record even though she had a better tattoo. And the very next episode, when the top two of the season were in the bottom and some of the guys were literally like “hey look at Ryan she’s amazing she doesn’t deserve to be here” the judges threw a fit and said it’s only about what they did in the challenge

He gave Clint a 12-14 hour task, knowing he had 6 hrs. The guy thought Clint was supposed to be superhuman and get it done quick, but that's not how humans work. He went on the show for a free tattoo and got it. He has no place to complain. Sure it was dark and cluttered, but that's because he got it done on his calf and he had to have the original size of the tattoo shortened to almost a third of the size. A tattoo like the one he wanted is best done on the back or the chest down due to the gigantic size. Craig was sabotaged badly. This comment wasn't made to bash anyone, but to inform and clarify.

I personally liked Austins better. I liked the pink above the head contrasted with the black was very pretty. I liked the galaxy the way it went onto the neck, i liked all the colors he used, it looked beautiful to me. I think this is actually my favorite tattoo ever that got eliminated. I think its really interesting and pretty. Id love to have it myself. Sorry Austin, i think beauty is in the eye of the beholder for sure, and this time it just wasnt the right beholder.... An ink master is an artist that is well rounded in multiple styles of tattooing and in execution that tattoo successfully in terms of things like solid line work and correct proportions. He never had what it takes.

I wanna see a reality show of grocery store cashiers (checkers). They all live in a house together. Two camps. They compete by ringing people up fast as hell, bagging groceries but keeping small talk with old people, handling upset old ladies about their heads of lettuce not ringing up right, and collecting shopping carts a.k.a. cart races. Jaime (James from Tattooz Ink in Redding CA) is a superb artist. I have several custom pieces by him, including a nude kneeling woman that covers my left thigh (6 hours). I think he should've beat out Sarah (from Pgh, PA) as her Big Cat just looked like a coverup (it wasn't). James *is* an Ink Master 👑

I hate cancel culture. At the end of the day, the past is the past and it should be left there. Imagine yourself lifting yourself up from ashes and obtaining a great career. You’re doing well for once, you’ve changed your mindset and morals.. only for some asshole with no life to dig into your past and cancel you out of nowhere. To be fair the point of the sabotage, as the artist, is really making your canvas understand what you can and can't do style wise, what does and doesn't look good, and most of all, have the canvas realise the limits you encounter due to the time constraint. You can't just start a tattoo you know will be bad because you know you won't have the time. Don't cut corners, reimagine the concept.

I may not be a great artist but Kyle’s Japanese temple looks more symmetrical and more accurate than Amanda’s. Japanese temples do not look like that and they definitely don’t have a cross at the top it’s not a temple it’s a church.

If I was on this show, if I got to pick who got what canvas, I would give each person what I think they would do best at. Because 1) it's best for the canvas, and 2) I would want to compete against the best, and I would want to win knowing that out of everyone doing their best work, I won. Like. What's great about winning because you made all the really good ones go home, and going against shitty tattoos? You know? Plus, that's going on someone's body permanently.
