Unfortunately, it will not. The 3020RS just reads and clears check engine codes on 96 and newer OBD2 certified vehicles. It provides the status of your readiness monitors as well and comes with a free companion app, RS2, which offers fix information with links to purchase the parts needed for repair.

Hi Romeo, the Innova 3020RS, nor any of our tools, read the traction control light. However, the 3020RS does indeed read ABS codes for most 2006 and newer domestic and Asian vehicles.

What is the USB C connection on bottom of device for? Nothing in the pdf manual on it. Data transfer?

The USB C connection was originally meant for updates to expand the newer years of vehicles covered. The USB connection isn't meant for data transfer either. Since the 3020RS just read & clears check engine and ABS codes, there really is no need to update the 3020RS. The I/M monitor status will always remain the same, the coverage for ABS, and as long as the vehicle is OBD2 certified, 96 or newer, it will read check engine codes for any vehicle. The free RS2 app provides all the code descriptions and fix information for the 5110 which updates free over-the-air updates.

so does this actually erase the code from the car itself, or just on the scanner itself? Like will this clear my check engine light off, or will my check engine light stay on? I have an inspection coming up, and need my check engine light off, but dont have money for repairs, so im basically asking will this clear the check engine light itself?

Hi Cody, the tool can erase the code from the car itself, not on the scanner. Please note that codes which have a status that is 'Permanent' cannot be erased. The tool can clear your check engine light off by erasing codes. But if the faults really exist in your vehicle without any repairs, it can detect and turn on your check engine light again.

I have the 3011 model but when i plug it in and turn the key on the display on it dosnt do anything. l can turn off the check engine light but would like to know why it was on. Any ideas.

The 3011 is our most basic entry level code reader that just reads and clears check engine codes & displays the readiness monitors. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with the RS2 app. The next model up would be the 3020RS and 5110 (Same tools, different retailers), and both support the RS2 app.

Hi there, thank you for your question. It depends on your vehicle and if it is able to identify which senor is bad. The 3020rs is just a basic code reader. If your vehicle identifies which sensor is bad, the unit will give you the code that identifies, either bank 1 sensor 1 or bank 2 sensor 2 , etc., depending on what code your vehicle throws out.

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the 3020rs is a basic code reader. You must have a check engine light on in order for the 3020RS to provide a diagnostic trouble code, otherwise, the 3020RS will not provide a trouble code with more information regarding your stuttering issue.

Thank you for your question! Pending codes are not stored codes, so there is nothing to erase. This means that you will have to complete a drive cycle. Completing a drive cycle will cause the vehicle to retest that failure and will clear the check engine light AND pending code if it has been fixed.

Hi Dennis! Thank you for your question. Yes, the 3020RS has each supported emission monitoring icon on the display, upon connecting the tool to your vehicle. These include the EVAP (EV) monitor and Catalyst (C) Monitor. Any incomplete monitors will be flashing. All complete monitors will be solid.

So the yellow LED indicator means it may or may not pass the smog test?

Hello Eddie, thank you for your question. The Yellow LED light means there could be a pending issue that could be passed by completing drive cycles. You would not pass a Smog with the yellow light. The red LED light means there has been a problem found in the vehicles computer. And the green LED light means your monitors are complete and are smog ready.

if you do not live in the us DO NOT BUY any innova product ...you are being RIPPED off, the fix assist IS NOT AVAILIABLE TO YOU AND THEY DO NOT TELL YOU until you try to download of course this is AFTER you have paid taxes and custom duties. And you do not even get a sorry from them! Also it DOES NOT WORK ON FOREIGN VEHICLES only gives generic codes and hope you do not work on a Mazda No codes at all. Buy a $40 code reader, because that is all it is! It cost me $500 to find this out ...I hope it saves you!

No, unfortunately, the 3020rs does not have the functionality to read or clear SRS lights off any vehicle. We would recommend the 3100RS, but check the compatibly checker to make sure the 3100RS is compatible with your specific vehicle. You can find the coverage checker at innova.com/coverage.

Hi there, a Yellow light means you have Pending monitors within your vehicle. The yellow light is related to the flashing monitors you see on the top left of your tools screen. This means that the vehicle has not completed testing within those monitors because the vehicle has not been driven around long enough. Complete a drive cycle to set those monitors to eventually get the LED light to green, which means your vehicle is SMOG ready, or it could set to red, which would mean a trouble code has been detected.
