Today I'm taking England's most luxurious train, the Belmond British Pullman across the British countryside. I'm taking Millie along today, and we have the best seat available, a first class compartment. Join us as we experience a 5 course menu, tour our luxury cabin as well as the rest of the opulent once in a lifetime train journey.
As with all my videos i'll show you exactly what you can expect taking this train, how much it cost as well as the various other seats available. Departing London Victoria station, we'll be taking the Golden Age of Travel itinerary all the way over to the British Seaside. One arriving, we'll have drinks on the platform before returning to London later afternoon.
After taking the Belmond Venice Simplon Orient Express i've been trying to get onboard this iconic train, partly because in usual times this is the first leg of the journey - but due to external factors it's not been operating for the months of April, May and June.
0:00 - Intro
1:39 - Getting onboard
3:10 - Room Tour
6:04 - Lunch
8:42 - The Seaside
10:06 - Other classes
13:04 - Back to London

His manners & positive attitude on these journeys are a credit to him and his family. Travels like a " Toff " all over the world and has a beautiful English rose for a girlfriend. The HISTORY of the PULLMAN car is rooted in Black American history. The IMPECCABLE 'Pullman Porters" made this train LEGENDARY for its superb service. Hey i used to work onboard the Northern Belle which is like the twin sister to the Pullman, they often docked in the same yard in Carnforth. If you are lucky enough to spend time on one of these trains just know that on the train i worked on they have 2 waiting staff managing an entire cabin of up to 40 people, that's setting the table, washing an polishing all the silverware, plates, glassware, dressing the tables, serving food and drinks, doing this all over again during the visitors day trip as well as endless other things. I often slept on the train woke up at 5am and went to bed at 1am being a waiter. Unfortunately the managers (the guys in tweed jackets who swan down the aisle a couple times during the entire trip) run down the train as the waiters help the customers off the train and take all the tips 'to distribute evenly', they basically took the lions share. So long story short if you appreciate the waiters hard work, just shake their hand at the end and pass them the tip yourself because if you leave it on the table, the guys in tweed you saw once the entire journey will take it for themselves... Even though their wages are around 3-4 times higher and all they do is just sit at the front of the train all day on their phones.

You've taken it to a new level. And making your companion an integral part of the video was spot spot spot ON. I think like Jeb Brooks' video series the addition of his wife to the travel adventure just adds immensely to the enjoyability communicated in a travel vlog. The NASA pin was a spot on touch. As a person who works in America's space program, I can't tell you how honored I am to see our effort appreciated world wide to the point where other nationalities want to wear our colors. I hope we continue to live up to your appreciation, and ..... Here's to to the UK becoming a large space player too. I want to wear your space agency's logo. You know road tripping would also be a great travel vlog. Motor trips across the UK, USA, Norway, Germany, Poland ...... Ukraine. Would be AMAZING if done Trek Trendy style.

I have just found this video, very interesting, thank you. My family restored the marquetry on the British Pullman and the Northern Belle amongst others and it is lovely to see it in situ after 'helping' as a young child during the restoration in the 80's. A family firm started by my great grandfather, it was my grandparents, parents, uncle & aunt who completed this amazing work for these trains, and the work doing marquetry & parquet flooring as well as working with tortoishell saw panels & furniture sent all over the world. As for the Titanic, we're not sure. There was marquetry on the Olympic, but sadly, nothing written down that specificically depicts the Titanic.

As a boy in Woking, Surrey in the 1950-s, I used to collect train numbers. I'd buy a platform ticket and spend hours on the platforms recording the different trains, (All steam in those days) and the highlight of my day would be when the Bounemouth Belle, or the Devon Belle came roaring through the station. There would first be a warning over the tannoy to stand well back on the platform and my eyes would immediately rivet on the distance. The train would appear, small at first, getting swiftly larger as it quickly rushed towards me. As it thundered through the station, you could catch glimpses of the interior of the carriages. The noise and smoke and rushing air as it passed was amazingly exciting as it quickly disappeared down the track. My favourite was the Devon Belle, because it had a large observation car at the end of the train. I always dreamed of one day travelling on one of those trains, but never did, so thank you for showing me what it would have been like. It has brought back so many memories of my youth and now I'm 87, I can indulge in a bit of yesteryear nostalgia and bore my Family with Dad and Grandad stories. They will be pleased:-)

What a great train and it is wonderful that these historic coaches still make regular mainline trips. There are a couple of similar coaches on the Bluebell Railway for a more modest fee. The one thing that is better about the Bluebell offering is that it is usually steam hauled. I just feel that a steam locomotive at the front of that train would just have made that experience completely perfect. Either way, your trip back home at the end of that must have been one hell of a bump back to reality!

In the past it was checked in at Victoria and the next time you saw it was in your hotel room in Venice. They will not introduce the combined trip until this can be sorted out.

Hello. I’m loving your fabulous train travels. My favourite mode of transport is by train and I envy you your adventures. Just one question:- what are the alternatives if you are a non-drinker, eg the rose wine ? You actually looked very surprised when you tasted it. So Rose lemonade maybe? And when you got off the train to stretch your legs and took a glass of Champagne with you, I didn’t see an alternative for us boring non-drinkers. Can’t wait to see where you’re off to next. I’m sure you’ll present it with your usual joie de vivre!!

Wow! Gorgeous train! I love the plush looking seats thru out! I’m a prude food wise! Can’t seem to branch out! Maybe it keeps my weight down!🐎 I love bread and sweets! Thank you for this scenic view of the green of England!❤️😀

How do you keep referring to Millie as your girlfriend? The opportunities you’ve had for the perfect proposal are unreal! Love all your content but have to say it’s so much more wholesome when it’s the two of you as you seem made for each other.

Absolutely gorgeous craftsmanship on the train. I live when there's excellent craftsmanship with woodwork. I am from Detroit and my favorite mansion is Meadowbrook Hall in Rochester Hills, Michigan. It's an Tudor-style estate with amazing interiors the former owners include a lumber baron and John Dodge's widow.

Love Victoria Station!!! My late Mum and I stayed in the attached railway hotel, at that time in 2002 known as the Victoria Thistle...I returned 4 years later in May to celebrate my 45th birthday with a week in London and stayed there once more!!! Truly enjoyed the experience!!!

You could at least quote pounds before dollars. You must have experience of exchange rate fluctuations. I mean, we used to get five dollars to the pound! Also, are your camera angles deliberate in certain circumstances? I'm sure you know what I mean 😀😀

The Queen isn't the only special person to have her own train, I have my own too. It was how I got to Beijing, Hanoi, and Vladivostok to see Xi Jinping, Donald Trump, and Vladimir Putin respectively. It was the same train my father unfortunately had a heart attack on back in 2011 while on his way to an inspection. So traveling by train really means something to me.
