Dreamworks only profitable film in recent times is that garbage KFP 4. Illumination just makes soulless cash teams instead of actual good movies. I hate how simplistic the corporate viewpoint can be sometimes. The message Pixar or any other studio should take from the success of films like Inside Out 2, Super Mario, Puss in Boots The last Wish, or Spiderverse, is not that we (the audience) want only sequels or only originals. We just want good films, no matter if they're featuring legacy characters or they are original stories. We want films that respect the audience, that don't talk down to us or try to preach to us or pander to niche demographics. Just make fun interesting charming films. That's all we want from the industry. I would love an Inside Out 3, so long as it maintains the quality of the first two films or raises it, like Toy Story 3 did.
