I’ve been a huge Cloverfield fan since I was a kid (mostly because of the mystery surrounding it, it coming out during one of my first kaiju phases and it being the first found footage movie I ever saw), and I loved it even more after I found out about the ARG a few years after I saw the movie (also the first ARG I ever saw). I also like 10 Cloverfield Lane and I of course researched _its_ ARG before watching it (since it spoiled the alien twist, I wasn’t frustrated by it when it ended, it also made me appreciate the design choices for the aliens themselves and the growth of Winstead’s character). While I don’t think The Cloverfield Paradox was anything special, my opinion on it is somewhere between “alright,” and “subpar.” Honestly, the only thing I really loved about the movie was the ending (the execution of it, the shock, the size of the monster, the fact that it’s been 10 years since I saw the monster in another movie, and I was only a kid at that time). I’ve always wanted to become a filmmaker and while I have ideas for films that _aren’t_ based on pre-existing franchises, I _do_ want to work on those pre-existing franchises and make good films out of passion and not just for money (and also fix franchises that I want to succeed and show the potential that can be done with them, I’m one of the few people who still has hope for video game movies, I believe it comes down to effort, the people working on them, the studios themselves and remembering to make a movie like you’re adapting a book). If I ever _do_ become a filmmaker and the Cloverfield series is still going on and still bullshitting around, _I_ want to be able to make an entry and also give it a proper send off. I want to make a film that actually _belongs_ in the series with an actual plan (I would probably even include things that they would add in later films if I like them and find them interesting like whatever’s going to happen in Overlord, if it’s good anyway), turn the negatives into positives and not just take the easy way out and pretend they never happened (like the ending to 10 Cloverfield Lane), have the world building and ideas make sense and please the fans. About the finale, if I want to give the series a proper ending with what they’ve added, it would have to be a miniseries, possibly a trilogy or more. If they want to take the parallel universe route, then I’ll go full on “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” or “COD Treyarch Zombies,” with it. Winstead’s character would return as one of the main characters (she expressed interest with returning to the series), and making her more like Ripley after all the character development she had, giving Teddy from the first film’s ARG a more starring role and expanding on his character, making Tagruato the main antagonist like they’re usually portrayed but giving them a gigantic role and presence in the films (not just the ARGs), showing more of the monsters and aliens, including fights between them, giving each of the parallel universes distinct identities, giving T.I.D.O. Wave a significant role since the first film’s ARG (and veerrrrrryyyyy briefly with the third film’s), giving them more of an antihero, vigilante vibe who have moved on from destroying Tagruato for the sake of the environment and are now destroying them for the sake of the multiverse itself (“This isn’t about protecting Mother Earth anymore,” as they would probably say). I’ll probably post my ideas in the form of stories on Fanfiction.net to give people an idea about what I want to do, but I want to wait a few more films first before I figure out what I want to do. I think experimenting with fan fiction is a good place to start if you want to be a writer but aren’t ready to make original stories (and I mean legitimately _good_ fanfiction that’s as good as a novel or short story and not just porn or random nonsense, though others can do what they want).

The problem with Cloverfield Paradox for me was that it didn't start out as a Cloverfield movie, that part was just tacked on at the end. I would have enjoyed it considerably more if it had just been a stand alone movie ... without the Cloverfield references and without the "on earth" portions. Just a good old space adventure. It is impossible to tell a coherent story ... when you are just tacking onto it randomly. They way they used the Cloverfield paradox to make pretty much anything possible because its all just a different universe ... just cheapened it. It was a cop out explanation. I enjoyed your exploration of what you would have done, the use of a completely non-linear movie sequence makes it possible to add in movies at any point. You can just call it a trilogy, make the third movie be the "end" movie like you did .... and then just keep adding in new stories, whether it is two, six or ten more chapters.

Pretty much my thoughts. The explanation in Cloverfield Paradox means they can make any new movie they want and attach it to the franchise without needing to worry about what happened in others. To me it felt more like an answer for the writers rather than the fans.

I absolutely love your timeline and would love to see those become films, it ties together very nicely while touching base on the viral campaign that only expands my love for the films. kubla 98 I actually used to feel like the alien from Super 8 should be the "father" species of the Cloverfield monsters, because they look similar, and the monsters would've been created "in their image", or something like that. But now I feel like the Super 8 aliens should be "aliens B" and then we should have very aliens very similar to "War of the Worlds" as the 10 Cloverfield Lane aliens. Obviously that's kind of rough and I'd need to further work the idea, but I think it could work.

I would prefer the franchise to just stay as a multiverse... I see no proper way to connect all 3 movies in the same "timeline" on the same universe... And there is allot of theories I really like backing up the 3 movies... If you disclude some "fictional" physics behind the third movie. But all in all I loved watching the third one connecting the movies as different multiverses colliding because of the third movie. Also there arent many other franchises doing exactly this. Cloverfield is doing something pretty unique and I along some my friends loved all of it. The mystery of the movies being separate multiverses is what brought my attention in the first place.

This is pretty good actually, I like what you did with the Tagruato backstory and the fact that you gave the aliens a backstory as well. I also loved the whole post apocalyptic part and the aliens vs aliens vs humans thing. Very impressive. I wasn't sure about the part where you talked about the parasites coming from the B aliens and them being used to weaken the monster, though. You see, the parasites are in some sort of cocoon until they hit the ground. They seem to spawn from the monster's skin, not crawl off it. Also, I wasn't sure about the other part where you talked about the whole parasite pod falling from the sky since it was confirmed that the object falling from the sky was indeed a satellite. But I still like the ideas. Overall, really good clean up of the Cloverfield franchise. I feel like you should be hired as a writer for the Cloverfield franchise, perhaps J.J. Abrams can make The Cloverfield Paradox non-canon and go with your take on the franchise.

This is really fucking good. I would have made a few tweaks though. The Quiet Place aliens would have been a secondary war unit from aliens b sent down to wipe out the planets population in order to make it easier for the parasitres to do their job. There would have been some unforseen bacterial element that disabled their sight and made them rely entirely on sound. Loved it though. ARE YOU WATCHING THIS JJ?????

It's a cool idea, but the aliens in 'A Quiet Place' came from a planet with limited amounts of light, causing them to evolve to be completely blind, but have the fragmented Demogorgon-esque head made of ear tissue, so they could hear everything, and hunt via sound. Also, they aren't connected to the Cloverfield franchise, the video just used an edited version of the movie's poster. That being said, they would make an admittedly awesome addition to the Clover-verse.

Even if it was still somewhat alive, considering we never hear from the Clover baby again, it is likely that either the witness thought the creature was still alive when it actually wasn't, most likely because said witness was in a panic and paranoid, or the Clover despite been alive was so weak and hurt that it was practically dead at that point

I've seen a few of your videos but this one (of the ones I have seen) I think is where you really extended yourself (in a good way) and got super creative. I don't know what I was expecting going in, but I like where you went with it. I like the titles and covers you created. The Cloverfield Solution tho, I sort of was hoping you'd go into some "Nazis found an artifact or heard of an artifact" because they were obsessed with that stuff. Anyway, that's just a minor thing I was expecting to hear. Great presentation all around and you TOTALLY deserve an Oscar for those visuals! I respect your theory & hardwork that you put in making it but I have a little flaw in your theory.... You said the eggs are made by the 10CL aliens, but J.J. Abrams has said that, in 1st movie, the Clover (monster) is lost and seraching for his mother. Technically, by your theory the mother must be the aliens, but it should be a rather very huge Clover monster who would be the mother of that little monster. Just give a thought. I know it's your own theory but you've taken the 1st 2 movies untoched and as it is so I'm telling.

I really like the idea you have for advancing the Cloverfield saga… and I think I may have figured out a way for it to still be valid after ‘Paradox’. Now, I’m probably going to be one of the few ‘black sheep’ here, but I really enjoyed “The Cloverfield Paradox” and actually think that it might work as an admittedly weaker middle chapter in an epic saga, let’s call it the “Age of Ultron” of the Cloverfield Franchise, to keep with the ‘Avengers’ analogy. Ok, so my additions to the story begin with the inclusion of J.J. Abrams’ ‘Super 8’. Now, admittedly, J.J. has come forth and said that ‘Super 8’ is not connected to the Cloverfield Universe, however, J.J.’s not always the most reliable narrator, and elements of his Cloverfield franchise have been spun into other franchises he’s worked on (i.e. a barkeep asking Lieutenant Uhura if she wanted a “Slusho mix” in 2009’s ‘Star Trek’, seeing a Tagruato skyscraper in ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’, which would also incorporate ‘Star Wars’, as for a split second R2-D2 was seen in the crashing rubble of the mega-starship, as well as the appearance of Kelvin gas stations in both ‘Super 8’ and ‘Cloverfield Paradox’, and Slusho-branded items in his show ‘Heroes’... but I’m going off on a tangent). The reason I want to include ‘Super 8’ in the timeline, is because it fits into the timeline and could effectively introduce the “Alien B” race. To give a quick recap, a ‘hostile’ alien “crash-landed” on Earth in 1958. This could easily be the censored version saying, “hey! Our government say some strange ship flying overhead, and decided to shoot it down!”, but I’m not saying anything for sure. Once the creature lands on Earth, it is captured and tortured by scientists at Area 51, who are trying to learn to harness the power of the Argus Cubes, a mysterious technological advancement that allows for Cooper (as the alien was called during production, while also being a subtle reference to a “Rocket Poppeteers” promotion during the film, but see Jamie’s video on ‘Super 8’ for more on that movie’s ARG) to reconstitute his ship, as well potentially transform into other devices, weapons etc. While at the Area 51 holding cell, the alien makes telepathic bonds with a few of the scientists who later help break it free en route to a secure holding facility in Lillian Ohio. If you haven’t seen ‘Super 8’, I definitely recommend checking it out. Before getting into the theorizing/storytelling aspect of this essay, I want to first add that the ‘Black Knight’ satellite, which orbits the Earth, keeping watch on the Clover eggs, also has the added benefit of being needed to track ships from the “Alien B” species. I also want to establish that this satellite was implemented relatively recently. Soooo….. Let’s add to Jaime’s timeline! The year is 1958, Tagruato is still in its infancy, but is slowly gaining steam before its big explosion onto the scene during the 1980’s. The United States government picks up a blip on their radar - a large, unidentified vessel doing strafing runs over the Pacific Ocean. The creature on board, a member of “Species B”, is checking for outcroppings of Clover eggs primarily, whereas other runs had seeded confirmed Clover nesting sites with parasites. When the Argus craft nears the American coastlines, they open fire, bringing the ship down in the Nevada region. Black Ops units and scavengers collect the ship parts and the alien and bring them to Area 51 - the event is cleaned and covered up quickly, aliens in Area 51 simply remaining a conspiracy theory. It is through the interactions that Cooper (remember above?) has at the base that cause him (and the rest of the “Species B” populus) to become hostile towards humans, primarily the military. The “Alien A”/10CL aliens become aware of “Alien B”’s scouting missions, and place a “Black Knight” satellite above all of their Clover breeding planets, whether or not the Eggs are becoming ready to hatch. Fastforward several years (let’s say 2010ish, but before the 2016 invasions), and after the events of the original ‘Cloverfield’, Earth is facing an energy crisis. Tagruato subsidiary Bold Futura commissions the building of the Shepard Particle Accelerator in the hopes to solve this crisis (which they are a part of creating, given the ARG). The Shepard continually works in space, firing several combinations of Higgs Boson particles at each other. During the collisions, varying amounts of electromagnetic radiation are released into space. When the Shepard finally ‘works’, transporting the crew into the Alternate Universe, a considerable electromagnetic signature is given off, identical to the signature needed to keep the “Alien B” Argus ships together. The “Black Knight” satellite reads these signals, and begins hurriedly hatching Clovers in preparation for an assault by the “Alien B” race. These are larger, more mature versions of the creature from the original ‘Cloverfield’ one of which being the creature shown at the end of ‘Cloverfield Paradox’. Honestly, whether or not the escape pod made it back to Earth is a moot point - if the pod was eaten or destroyed, all of the Shepard’s data would be lost, and Earth would continue onto its annihilation ridden course. If the pod survived, I could see an international government taking control of the Shepard’s data, and using it to try and create wormholes to the other Earth, as a sort of sanctuary. This could even be a ‘Rogue One’-esque spinoff film, as Tagruato might try and steal the data to power a massive escape movement, saving some of the population. With this concept, another spinoff could be created to deal with the overpopulation of Earth-B, perhaps something in the veins of Netflix’s ‘What Happened to Monday?’ (once again, if you haven’t seen this movie, you’re missing out). Back to the main story, the “‘Super 8’ Alien”/”Alien B” race telepathically (via their hosts still remaining on Earth - perhaps Joe from ‘Super 8’ is employed at Tagruato, and has to keep track of the Clovers’ locations, so Tagruato can set up evacuation wormholes away from the mayhem) see the 10CL aliens awakening their monsters, and return to Earth, beginning the 2018 wars, and driving the remaining human population on Earth into the post-apocalyptic setting ending Jaime’s timeline. Simply put, this might be the easiest way to include the events of ‘Cloverfield Paradox’ into Jaime’s ‘Cloverfield’ Universe, while also canon-izing ‘Super 8’. I get what you are trying to do in this video, but hearing it out loud just shows how dumb the whole Cloverfield story is. I think I liked it better when it was originally suppose to be a Godzilla rip off with pollution causing the birth of a monster. There is some pretty neat concept art of the monster originally being a mutated whale, and the creatures that fall off of it are mutated sand lice.

"The Cloverfield Paradox" was a decent enough science fiction movie, but it didn't work as part of a "Cloverfield franchise". In fact, it didn't really have anything to do with Cloverfield at all, except for some obviously tacked‑on bits at the end. If they'd left those parts out and called it "The {something‑else‑besides‑Cloverfield} Paradox", it would've been a better movie, in my opinion.

I'm really glad you kept the movies related to the diffrent companies, my only issue is the fifth movie doesn't seem to have the epic build up one would expect from the finally that's five movies in the making. Still sounds pretty good over all, and the movies make logical steps that paradox failed to make (not that I hate the movie, I personal enjoyed it and can't wait to see where the series goes)

Nah, you need to tie the whole JJverse together, like the Whedonverse. It turns out that the mind behind Tagruato is actually this world's Walter Bishop. The "aliens" are actually Observers from the future, and in order to fight them, Walter Bishop draws the Starship Enterprise from an alternate quantum timeline. This has the benefit of allowing Cloverfield Paradox to actually fit into everything by creating the temporal anomaly which causes this world to diverge from the Star Trek timeline where Khan Noonien Singh causes the apocalypse instead.

Great job!! I really liked the thought you put into this, figuring out why the things in the original movies happened (beyond what we were already told) and how to make it progress while still making actual sense. I'm not a huge fan of how you dealt with the parasites, mostly because I got more of the impression that they co-existed with the Clover alien, not that they were attacking it. Kind of how there are birds that basically live on rhinos and help eat any bugs, ticks, and pests that would bother it. So in the first Cloverfield movie, since the alien wasn't in the water anymore, they basically just fell off and went to town on humans. So that part of your story idea was a bit of a stretch to me, but I can see that it would work. I don't have a problem with the Paradox movie, but it does seem kind of lazy writing lately with production companies and sci-fi movies to just explain something with jumping time lines or mashing universes together. A lot of times, a much simpler solution with more thought put into plays better.

I think your idea is a bit generic and about the same quality as what we got with paradox. The problem with the first 2 cloverfield films is that they were both really vague about what was happening, that added with the intrigue from the viral marketing made it so that whatever abrams did in the explanations department was going to be received poorly by the people who followed the deep lore. In my opinion he should have just left it vague and given no explanations. Also, I thought Paradox was a pretty good film and without the connection to cloverfield it would have done far better.

Honestly, I think that - with how Abrams went about these "sequels" - there shouldn't be a Cloverfield "franchise." I would even argue that such a "franchise" can't even be considered a real thing that exists. Based on the fact that 10 Clovefield Lane didn't even start out as a story that was intended to connect to Cloverfield, and apparently neither was The Cloverfield Paradox, those two films shouldn't really be considered canon to the Cloverfield story in my opinion. Honestly, a franchise COULD have been built around the original Cloverfield film. Abrams did a lot to build up this world, including creating an ARG that I didn't even know about until your videos. But when he chose to turn an entirely separate film into a sequel, even trying to shoe-horn in some material into the ARG to make it make sense, he failed in a heartbreaking way. A Cloverfield franchise would have been an amazing story to create, and if perhaps Abrams would have done it the way you propose YOU would have done it, it would have been such an amazing world to immerse in. Unfortunately, BECAUSE he chose to turn unrelated scripts into Cloverfield sequels without the care the Cloverfield world deserved, the entire thing has just fallen apart.

I love you, man, but this was very convoluted. What is the point of having two warring factions of simillarly-acting alien races? What are we, the viewers of your movies, supposed to get out of this whole plotline? Are we supposed to root for one over the other? Is it a "war is bad" messege? A "we are tiny and insignificant." undertone? If that is the case, then the two existing movies are already going against that messege. By the sound of your voice in some parts of this video, I think you were aware that a lot your writing for this is contrived. The closest thing your plotline reminds me of are the Aliens vs Predator movies. Two warring species, humanity is caught in the middle, discovering hidden tech, accidentally unleashing an alien threat, etc etc... How do you want your audiance to feel during each movie? That is the most important question. Then ask yourself HOW you can achieve that. Break the solution into small chunks and then piece them together into your nerrative. Sorry if i am being overly analytical, I hope you don't take offense.

You know I really love this concept! I would have explored the long term effects of slusho products on humans (if it caused health problems/mutations) in the third movie and maybe did some genre exploration with giving the alien b creature the ability to communicate/be tamed. Post apocalyptic horror is a great grounds for social commentary, it would be a shame to waste it when you’re out of the bottle episode that was 10 cloverfield lane.
