I was a Chef earlier in life (that’s why your cooking impressed me) I spent time in big kitchens and music was always playing in my workspace lol. I do take time in my musical choices on my channel. I have a bit of a strange selection process that involves mood, subject, theme, really any connection I can find. I never know if the viewer ever makes the same connection while watching as some connections are abstract or personal. Sometimes no connection at all, just a song running in my head lol. Many times it’s the song that gets me out the door. Thank you Bruce! Hey, give that dog a banana will ya! Big loves to Otis ❤️

Good evening Dan. It looks like you're all having a great time in the glorious sunshine!.. Sun, fun and two best friends having a ball (pun intended), what more could you want!?...Perfect...Made me smile, and we, too, were doing similar things on our back garden, today. Finally, we are stating to get some sunshine over here, after months of dreary, dull and miserable weather. So I've been out and about with my cameras shooting some high contrast street photography, and man, what a breath of fresh air...Great stuff!

yo Nick! Yeah, on hot days I wear ‘em out early in the AM. I don’t take them out when it gets above 80. Roads and gravels are a good 20-30 degrees hotter at dog level. Besides, now they can hang out in the air conditioning and beg for snacks and take naps lol. We do get out for night walks sometimes too. As for me, I really like the heat. Were you with the Fuji X-T30 II? Glad your weather is improving. happy photography 🔥🎉🎉🎉

That's a great (and sensible) routine for the dogs. Aircon, Snacks & Naps, cool album title right there, Dan..lol....You could imagine maybe bands like Fun Lovin' Criminals, or Happy Mondays, releasing an album with a title like that..😎😉 Yes, out with the Fuji. It's unobtrusive size is perfect for street-photography. Been using a Kodachrome 64 variation I noted down, which I've been very impressed with. Trouble is I omitted to write down the source, can't remember who it was and so am unable to credit the person who created it, but it is good, imo....It works well in low contrast situations and the other day was nice and bright and sunny, as I said, and so tried some high contrast shots. I found some decent high contrast locations, with strong sun and hard shadows, spot-metered for the highlights (or near to) and got some fairly decent/quite dramatic shots. I'd add in negative ex comp up to -1, for some shots. Also got a couple of nice images using centre-weighted, shooting the outside from within a coffee shop interior...Tons of different ways/approaches to do things = it's all great fun! Going to try out the FXW Kodak Portra 800v2 recipe soon, this time in a bigger city location. I think this looks ideal for a light, bright, airy day, with bags of sunshine, so will give it a run then. Cheers.

@@innercityunit2112 oooo, hitting me with some Britt tunes! Nice! The only tune I recognized was Step On but I need to dig further 🤔🥳. I was jamming on some Suzi Quattro earlier. Most Yanks have no clue except the Stumblin’ In tune. lol. I’m a big fan of 70’s Brittish Glam too. A Kodachrome 64 variant I like is McCurry Kodachrome. Less warmth but with all the color goodness. I agree the exposure mode can make such a dramatic difference. I love spot point and use it most. Like most SOOC photographers, I once was fully RAW. I became so accustomed to getting the meter in the middle to get all the dynamic range for edit. I never expose down the middle now! The light qualities of the SOOC recipes are so fun to manipulate with light. I’m curious of your thoughts on the new X-T50?

@@DanFarrar The X-T50?...good question. First, the X-T30ii. I think is quite an underrated camera. Basically it's the baby brother of the X-T4, with stripped down features, obviously. But, at the end of the day, you are getting identical image output to the X-T4, which until not long back, was one of Fuji's flagship cameras. The fact that the X-T30ii doesn't have dual card slots, that doesn't matter to me, I'm not a professional wedding photographer, or the like, so no big deal. The lack of IBIS, although would be nice, again no deal breaker, as this will mostly be needed for video shooting, and TBH, I don't shoot any video, I'm a stills photographer. I suppose IBIS could come into play in low light/slower shutter speed situations, but the 18-55 Fuji kit has OIS, which is very effective and I'm able to shoot really quite low speeds hand held, very effectively. The thing I would like on the X-T30, is weather sealing, but it's understandable that Fuji would want to keep some distance between it and the X-T4...Oh, and the battery life on the X-T30 is poor. But, a spare couple of batteries and problem solved. Two batteries will easily do me on a days shoot. Moving on to the X-T50. Well, I suppose the two things that jump out, are the 40MP sensor and the 7-stops of IBIS...I'll leave the IBIS aside, as I've covered that....The 40MP is nice, but I think depends on what you want to shoot and what you intend to do with your images. The X-T30's 26MP, is absolutely fine for me and enough for any photographer, really. The 40MP would be of benefit if you were a professional product photographer, or fashion photographer, if you did any serious cropping, or wanted your images to be blown up in size, then yes 40MP is going to help. But again, that's not what I do, so isn't a concern. And you need lenses that are capable of rendering the 40MP. I think the biggest disappointment, as far as I'm concerned, regarding the X-T50, was the decision to not make it weather sealed. If they had done this, and made it weather sealed, they would have had a little all-weather powerhouse on their hands and I think it would be extremely popular. Again, Fuji wanting to keep some distance between it and the X-T5, but I can't help feeling that Fuji has missed an opportunity here, and shot themselves in the foot somewhat...Had they included weather sealing, I mat have found the small form of the X-T50 quite tempting. But as it is, I really have no desire to buy it. It really doesn't offer my photography any big benefits (some small ones as mentioned), so I'll be sticking with the X-T30ii..........The X-T50 does come in at a very reasonable price though, for what you get, it has to be said. At the end of the day Dan, it's all highly subjective. These are just my ideas and preferences, my thoughts, and what suits me and my style of shooting. Horses for courses, right? I think my next camera addition will be a full-frame mirrorless, not sure which yet, but got one or two in mind.

Nikon is killing it with that 24mpx full frame lineup. I completely get what you’re saying because I’m in the same era with my X-Pro3. No stabe, 26mpx, but perfect in every way because I totally and completely feel at ease using it. It has two card slots so if I forget one..I still have one in the camera. (not often but 3-4 times it saved my bacon lol) and, like you, I have OIS in several lenses. I just assumed at the price point of the X-T50 it would be weather tight…bummer. The thing with the weather seal for me is dust. I still have to swab my sensor but not nearly as often as I did with my X-T20. And, if the lens ain’t sealed you got nothing lol. Right now I have a full spectrum of Fuji’s. The X20 at 12mpx, X-Pro3 at 26 mpx, and the GFX 50S II at 51 mpx. Each body doubles lol. Not that it matters really but they were all three made in Japan and none of them are great at video lol. (X-pro3 is best at video but I seldom use it for that) I use each one evenly and have no plans on changing anytime soon regardless of what Fuji’s latest greatest is. Because of the GFX I have no interest in the 40mp sensor and definitely no interest in upgrading lenses to work with it. My newest video camera purchases (yes, I HAVE to do video lol) OSMO Pocket 3 and Insta360 X4 were made possible by finally trading in some gear I never ever use anymore. Both cameras are working well for me so far and they both have small(ish) file sizes and decent quality. The main thing is I do all editing on a M1 IPad. I am not interested in a desktop, laptop, or whatever to edit my files and I’m hoping to stretch a couple more years from the iPad. Big video files from a jacked up phones or GoPro are miserable to edit with. The Insta360 can have huge files but they never touch down in the iPad before whittling it down a ton. I’m still able to pull out 4K on KZbin that comes out pretty good most times. 4K does WONDERS for photos on KZbin. I’m always surprised when a photography channel uploads in 1080 video…because their photos take a big hit in broadcast quality. Massive hit lol. So, all that video mambo jumbo just to share some photos on KZbin…and maybe make someone’s day a little better or at least get them exited about photography!
