Hey Flex, Love the posts brother! So far I have done my grill, headlight casing, led headlights (high and low beam), as well as the wiring for the DRL! Little improvements here and there but you make it super easy. Looking forward to more posts in the future!

Nice mod and thanks for the comparison. I was able to confirm with USR and fishcake that these DEPO headlights have a shutter inside the projector which opens when the high beams are switched ON and which produce the majority of the beam. The H7 bulbs also turn ON but in a supplemental role. So the high beam consists of the main projector beam opening up and the H7 bulbs.

Very cool video! I was surprised when you said LEDs create a lot of heat. I thought LEDs create little to no heat. Anyways, my w204 came stock with HID projectors and I'm very happy with them, so this ones not for me. Still very interesting and when you get your HIDs, maybe you can do an LED to HID comparison video. Respect!

I really care the dust cover,I mean if u install LED bulb and not use the cover ,there will be many dust or sand get into the headlights and also influence the life of the headlights

I don’t live in the country. There’s barely any dust or sand build up in my engine bay. The headlights been fine. It all comes down to whatever you wanna do, where you live, and how and where you drive your car.

@jB_156 жыл бұрын
Hey Flexx, won't dust get into your headlamps if you drill holes on the dust cover which keeps dust out? Also concerned if I don't allow heat to dissipate from the back of dust cover then a fire hazard it becomes. Decisions, decisions.

I'm going to assume this install will still work for the new USR headlights correct? Also do you know any other bulbs since the low beam 9005 HB3 bulbs are no longer listed in the link and for the high beams the H7 bulb is no longer available? I have a pair of LED H7's in my stock halogen lights already so those could maybe work for high beams.

Can this be done to factory facelift xenon projector headlights? It also has the dust cover
@TheFlexxGarage10 ай бұрын
No. Only to the aftermarket projector headlights that replaces a factory halogen style headlight. Factory xenon headlights uses a special type of bulb that’s stupid expensive.

I just purchased a 2010 c300 and wow the lows are horrible. I installed an HID kit in my previous Grand Cherokee and loved them, don't really want to deal with that again with this car though. I bought superstar ultra for this car but upon removing the bulbs they are the silverstar zxe, guess my options are looking for led bulbs. Looking at my headlight assembly's there is a dust cover but below it appears totally open, weird.

If they are stock xenon projector headlights, you can’t change the bulb. This only works on aftermarket projector headlights that are designed to replace a stock halogen headlight.

I talked with fishcake (a supplier of the depo headlights) and he said that the halogen bulbs should not go over 55 watts but the Phillips bulbs are all 65 watts. Would it still be safe to use the Phillips bulbs?
@MrMicahz286 жыл бұрын
Hey Flexx huge fan of your vids, question for ya.. Will the DEPO projector headlights fit on a 2015 c250 coupe? It says it only goes until year 2014. And are any additional brackets necessary in order to install the NAO LED bulbs you recommended? Thanks brother
@TheFlexxGarage6 жыл бұрын
If your c250 is a c204/w204 platform then it will fit. Most website won’t list the 2015 c250 c204/w204 platform because in the year 2015, they made both the c204 and newer c205 platform. People automatically associate the newer c205 with the year 2015. For the bulbs, if you don’t see brackets in my video...then you don’t need it. Simple as that. Unless your Depo headlights takes a different bulb type.

I followed your video on installing NAO H7 LED bulbs on the low beams for a C300 Mercedes, I have ordered them with connector brackets for the low beams, on this video I see installation for the high beams, do I need the connector brackets for the high beams as well?, I did not see the connector brackets on your video
@TheFlexxGarage5 жыл бұрын
Yes. You will need them. After I installed it in the video, it fell out. Just one thing though, I learned that the second bulb is not high beam. It’s actually a cornering light to make the light coming out the of headlights wider. The highbeam is actually coming out of the main projector lense as the low beam. There’s a shutter that opens only halfway for low beam and then fully opens for high beam from the same “low beam” bulb.
@fernandosinn5505 жыл бұрын
@@TheFlexxGarage Thanks Flexx, good to know, I haven't received the LEDs for the lows, this is a MB C300 2013, is it worth changing the highs as well?
@TheFlexxGarage5 жыл бұрын
Not worth it. I know i rarely use my highbeams...and also, when I use my high beams...the stock bulb has a slight amber hue to it helps because it sticks better to the road or snow.

Everything i read says led gets too hot and burns out prematurely in a projection lens which is made for HID. Good luck with that.
@TheFlexxGarage4 жыл бұрын
Well you need to keep researching cause if you dissipate the heat, there’s less chances of issues and also, not all projector lenses are built the same. A lot of headlight companies even ship their projector lens headlights with an option of halogen or led bulbs preinstalled. Good luck on the research.
