Hey Mike - thanks, as ever, for another great video... I've binge watched them all now so I need more - just sayin'. And thanks for the link for classiccarwring.com - I just got the wiring diagram for my wife's '62 Bug and even though I hate and fear wiring I am reasonably confident that I can track down the gremlins that plague the car. I made sure to let them know that I got the link from your channel. They don't have a diagram for my 1970 Rover P6 but I am hoping he can get the reference material needed to draw one up. Cheers from So Cal.

LED pulls a ton less current then standard bulbs. I put the kwik wire 8 curcuit in my 95 Honda Civic. Worked perfect.

Used one similar to this on a 1965 Sunbeam Tiger rebuild. Makes the job a lot easier than trying to follow the original color code wiring on the 1960 MGA I put back together.

Hey brother I’m wanting to rewire my 76 c10. I’ve already got a LS stand alone harness for my swap ,but would like to change out the chassis wiring for the rest of my truck. I’ve already got the Dakota digital gauges and all other engine components wired to the stand alone harness. I’m not currently running electric windows or locks but would like to eventually, so I’d love your opinion on what set up I could use without the overkill or too much unnecessary wiring. Any advice would be appreciated thank you.

Mike, how did you wire the brake lights? I have the 8 wire Kwik Wire harness and the instructions only show one wire (#29 I believe that is labeled as Tail Lights) going to the taillights. This is fine for tail lights but how do I get brake lights with only one wire? I have an 1157 two element bulb on each side, thinking that there would be one wire going to one element for tail lights and another wire going to the other element for brake lights. I'm stumped. There is a wire for the 3rd brake light but the instructions specifically say NOT to connect that to the brake lights - it only goes to a 3rd brake light if you have one and I don't have one. I'm really confused.

I'm hoping u were able to resolve this man! Sorry I just saw this. Your taillights and turn signal become the brake lights. The 3rd brake signal will not be used. Hope that makes sense

I’m working on a 65 coupe like yours and looking to go with a kwik kit. My question is how did you go about getting the door and windows to hook up when the switches attach to the weird harness?
@RatsnestHotrods6 жыл бұрын
Hey Dustin thanks for watching! It's pretty easy. First you have to buy a kit that has extra circuits for windows which you wire through window relays and then to the switches. Not hard to do but hard to write it all out here. I have a link under the video that makes a recomendation on a great computer book on wiring. If you call Kwikwire they will help also.

Dustin Coco. I accidentally removed your comment! Anyway if you do stereo and air ride you can easily do windows! Good luck

I’m looking at wiring my 87 yj wrangler. Would you recommend Kwik for this? I’m thinking a 14 circuit. I’ve only seen these guys on KZbin used in cars only- no Jeeps. Just looking for some advice. Thanks for sharing.

Yes without hesitation. Love the YJ's. Hit me up if you need anymore advice and thanks for watching!

I'm going to be replacing the wire harness on my 78 F250 and am wondering how to go about ordering the right harness. How do i know how many circuits I need?
@RatsnestHotrods5 жыл бұрын
Hey Cody! I would recommend a 14 circuit. That will handle everything and give you some extras for stereo and electric fans. Good luck and thanks for watching!

Kwik wire 14 circuit kit will be sufficient for most cars.

Mike, I'm about to re-wire my 67 Coupe Deville. I'm using the Kwikwire 14 circuit system with the 4 headlights. I'd love to pick your brain a bit if possible. Can you send me a contact to reach you? Thanks, Kyle

What does it cost to have someone rewire your car if you buy the kwickwire kit.
@RatsnestHotrods5 жыл бұрын
Hey Keith! Really depends on the car but I would guess 1500 to 2500 is a good budget.

Ratsnest Hotrods I have a 03 350z , and I bought it about a month ago but noticed some electrical shorts in the car with break lights and blinkers and I figured I would just rewire the entire car.. but I honestly have no knowledge of this kind of stuff
@RatsnestHotrods5 жыл бұрын
Gotcha. That's I whole different ball of wax. Modern cars have a pretty sophisticated computer system that would make that very difficult. You're brake lights and blinkers should be a fairly easy fix. Some good troubleshooting videos should guide u in the right direction. Good luck!
