Thanks. I Wish I Used The Common Sense Of Watching Your Video Instead of Listening to My Neighbor! He told me Not To Use the Teflon Tape. Result. It’s Leaking From one of the Screw In Inlets At the Bottom! So Upset Now. My Sprinklers have literally Been Chewing Up a Lot Of My PTO!! You Are Right Though. They are pretty easy to Go In but now I have another 30-45 minute trip to Lowe’s to get another 2 Screw In Adapters. The New Valve Fixed My Leaking Sprinklers Though So That Was the Positive Note. Thanks. LESSON LEARNED, DON’T LISTEN TO YOUR NEIGHBOR EVER! They Usually Know Less Than You!

I have the main waterline on the bottom of the hill which shoots up the hill, and the anti siphons at the top. Is that the correct setup? Or does something need to be placed inline at the bottom of the hill? In other words when the anti siphon at the top is off do I need to worry about the pressure in the line going down the hill or does it just remain pressurized and no need to worry about back flow

3:31 make sure you really tighten it up because you don't want to end up like me where I did the whole process only to have that part leak :(

Hi, very nice easy to understand. How do you locate the faulty valve. One of the zone does not shut off. What is the process in finding and connecting the wires once the old valve has been replaced. Thank you for your feedback !!!!!

do you have a video to help set up a wires by chance, Thanks!

You should prime the fittings and pipe first. Once you put the cement on the pipe and fittings you will be able to wiggle the whole valve assembly at least 7-10 degrees and few times until the cement begins to set and you should. Ounce you push the assembly onto the pipe, rotate slightly and evenly one way and then the other making sure both fittings are moving together. Then straighten it up to the final resting point to make sure the glue sets evenly.

do you have to let the primer dry before applying the pvc cement or would you apply the cement immediately after the primer?

I have a question: How would you remove the old valve off that has been glued in place? Also, the whole sprinkler feeding system of pvc pipes have been glued together in place, so there is nowhere where I could easily reinstall a new pvc pipe or fitting?

use pipe cutter

You didn't explain the biggest issue - aligning the water lines to the width of the valve. Valves do not come in uniform widths. How best to adjust the width?

He replaced an old valve of the same make and size. The pipes were already spaced right.

Ben, thanks for your instruction. But, I have the sprinkler yard trouble : the sprinkler head spray no overlap. Please help me to fix it. I just use 1single sprinkler vale for 5 sprinkler heads, including 2 180*non adjustable, 3 360*adjustable, distance 5'-15',apart 10', water pressure : 62psi. If I adjust small angle, they spay 6'-8' distance and full 360*, they spay 4' distance. Can I use water pressure regulator to bring water pressure to 85psi? Or break up to 2 zone valve, then set up timer for they work different time? Once again, thanks.

Don't go to Home Depot. You will find cheaper stuff at a professional irrigation store. Rain Bird Valves Or Hunter Valves are much better than Orbit valves

This is a great video however it is not a good idea to use permanent, glued-in adapters as you show. Cutting pipes is always a bad idea and so should be avoid as much as possible. Avoid cutting pipes by using a Orbit swivel adapter which can be found at Lowes. Swivel adapters allow the valve to be installed and removed without cutting pipes.

I will look for one. The reason I was watching this video was to see if they offered an alternative. If the pipe is coming out from a concrete slab, each time you replace a unit you are going to have to put a connector closer to the concrete until there is no more room left.
