My test was at 8 am. So I decided to go on a 10 mile run. I finished my run near a McDonald’s and I bought every homeless person there some food. I felt on top of the world. Pulled up to my exam on the dot, made a 100% and sweated the whole time. Thanks Casey!

I used to run like that in the Army. 14 miles a day - no prob! When I was 18 my knees were injured in the Army. I tried to run for 2 more years but couldn't without severe swelling - I think I never had time to properly heal. So I have not run really for 20 years other than the chasing kids kind of thing. But I think it could be possible now. I have had tons of physical therapy. This vid gives me hope. I hate not being great at stuff. Thanks for sharing this.

Dear Casey, My name is August. On January 2nd, 2015. I was diagnosed with ewings sarcoma, which is a rare pelvic bone cancer which form in teens mostly. I turned 20 six days later. Six months later i had half of my pelvis removed in order to remove almost all of the cancer from my body. Though i was lucky because the cancer was only in an isolated part of my body, I still am in the process or learning how to walk again. I've watched a lot of your stuff for the past month or so, but this video right here hits close to home. I also had doctors tell me i might not ever walk again, let alone run. I've had up and down struggles throughout my journe, but this video really inspires me to push harder everyday. I appreciate what you do and i aspire to be such a good cinematographer as you. I enjoy photography the most. Please keep on doing what you do, You know that millions of people watch these videos, but you never know how much of an impact your work will have on someone, such as myself. Thank you for helpng me get through the darkest of times.

+August Stamper Dont ever let someone tell you what you can and cant do, i had a rock climbing accident in which i basicly exploded my calcaneus(heel), i was unable to walk for 4 months and in a cast. rehabilitation was one of the most painfull things i have ever done at times i was considering giving up due to the pain and being content with the loss of that leg, i was told i would never climb again by multiple specialists. I wasnt prepared to accept that, the past 5 years of my life had been dedicated to training to Climb El Capitain in Yosemite. After battling through the pain, rehab, surgery, i started climbing again. It took me another 2 years to build my legs backup to the state they were in before my accident as not walking for 4 months gave me chicken legs. I climbed El Cap in june this year with my partner and completed one of my life long goals. What the mind does the body will follow. Prove those DRS wrong! push through the pain. chase your dreams! I wish you the very best.

How can you run for 21 miles man you're crazy I wish I could do that
@AoiGP8 жыл бұрын
+Yunus B you start slow, 20 mins then increase it each week by 5 mins. That's what I did.
@TurkseYunus8 жыл бұрын
+AoiGP I already run, I'm fit actually. But rumning for 10 or 20 miles seems unreal to me
@TheBennySwans8 жыл бұрын
+Yunus B if it's something you actually want to do, you can do it. it may take weeks or even months but anyone with working legs can do it if they really wanted to
@TurkseYunus8 жыл бұрын
+Benjamin Swanson thanks for the motivation man, i know i'm working my way up :)

+Yunus B that's his long run days, most people only run long distance runs maybe 1-2 times a week, and around under 6-8 on off days. But immortals will run in the 100+ mile range per week, Casey probably doesn't run that much I'm sure but he probably gets in about 40-50. Not bad at all, I sit at around 30 in a 4 day run period.

Start slow. Don't overdo it. Drink almost entirely water. Don't eat or drink within an hour before your run. Minimize junk food. Stretch before and after runs and ice after. Sleep at least 8 hours. I went from not being able to run 2 miles in under 16 minutes to bring able to run a 12 minute 2 mile in one month after I started.
@Sheldonman1238 жыл бұрын
+Zach G Nice. Ever heard of the Cooper test? It involves running as far as possible in 12 minutes. 2 miles is considered excellent. I ran 2950 meters a few weeks ago, after 4 months of running. But before I started, I was chubby and in poor condition. I'm 15 years old BTW.
@zach39558 жыл бұрын
+Leader of the Illuminati Yeah I started right before I was 14. I'm 15 now and I could probably do about 2.25 miles in 12 minutes. I know I can run a 10:40 2 mile.

I watched these vlogs religiously as a kid. Running like this seemed physically impossible for so long, because I grew up somewhat chubby. The first time I went running in middle school I barely made it half a mile. Now that I am in College I run half marathons on the weekly and actually can eat pizza or call someone on the phone if I don't go too fast. Thanks for the motivation Casey!

IanTheEarlobe your muscles and body heals itself while you're sleeping, so sleep is crucial for helping your body to recover, especially if you're exercising/working out a lot. if you don't allow enough time for your body to recover and just keep exercising, working out can ultimately become counter-productive, with diminishing returns.

still one of my favorite vlogs to this day
@pacoreguenga7 жыл бұрын
I agree about 6 hrs of good sleep make you actually rest and fell better than 8 straight hrs of sleep. Those 2 hrs of exercise also make you feel better because you are oxigenating your body, getting rid of toxins, liquifying crystalized lactic acid from your muscles, gaining kinetic momentum which actually energizes your body. You really are a healthy person and that should inspire everyone. When I produced my TV show years ago, I tried to make people aware of diabetes and the need of exercise (being myself diabetic for the last 18 years). I even did a lot of exercise to the point of passing my blood exams with best results, almost as a non-diabetic person. But my show was cancelled and I kinda fell into a depression so I quit exercising for the last 4 years and diabetes has returned and my body functions are also degenerating. Watching your lifestyle has inspired me so I wanna be healthy again and wanto to start again doing some exercise. You are a source of insiration for millions. Thank you, Casey.
