I live in that area and have complained to the Mayor. I keep getting the same generic emails. It’s a shame the taxpayers are suffering. The City of Albuquerque is not doing anything to clear up this issue and more and more people are moving in on Zuni SE. just ridiculous!

Most are mentally ill but it seems like in the millennial generation a lot of people pretend to be mentally ill when they're not to try to ride the system. Also speaking as somebody that grew up around that kind of stuff, most people are taking advantage of the system and they aren't actually trying to give anything back to it. How cruel. How can someone look for work if they have no water. Or clean clothes. Or medical attention. Many times I asked people for food, not money, and was treated with incredible cruelty. This is in the same spirit. When I finally did get some help I let a homeless person use my shower, and he was incredibly grateful, as I would have been, as any of these people would be. Why complain when you can help? Why not encourage others instead of hurting them with evil words and thoughts. Fill your heart with love and compassion and you will know what true happiness is.

Been there-done that! I used to routinely find filled heroin syringes left behind on my homeless camp property.. What junkie would leave a 20 dollar jolt behind?!? I didn`t get it. Till my old hand neighbor explained it to me. He said the vagrants would prep TWO syringes before getting high. That way, they could "keep the party rolling" without having to stop and prep the second dose. But then they would get too high, and or chased off and forget or abandon the second needle for me to have to deal with ...

We left Abq and NM for reasons like this! It's so nice to live and work elsewhere and not have to worry about dirty needles left over from camps like this while trying to work. I don't have to watch someone shooting up in a median while waiting for the light to change at an intersection. I don't have to spend my day dealing with another vandalism to a work site because someone decided to steal all the copper wiring to the building. Abq is way out of hand. It's turned into California.

I live in a very large County on the East Coast (twice the size of San Francisco) and the County Board is mainly Democrats but we have an Ordinance that simply prohibits camping in public. Also, trespassing violations of any kind are enforced by Police. It's not complicated. We have no issues. It's all about common sense leadership and rules.

Business running for about a year.... How long has the homeless problem in the area been going on for? You don't mention that in the report.... Because it sounds like the homeless were there before her business was. If that is the case, why did she decide on a bad location for that type of business? Or did she miraculously expect the problem to go away once she opened her doors? Her bad business decisions are not the city's problem. Maybe she should have opened a shelter at that location, since all those potential clients are already there?

You should have found a different location, which probably would have costed more. I'm sure what you wanted was for them to be removed so that you can get your nice quiet normal life back and make money right? Of course you're more important than a bunch of homeless people. You made a bad business decision and it failed. If your clients were using the homeless people as an excuse to go somewhere else, let them go.
