Since none of them have any vice accept the socially accepted cigarettes and usually hard liquor ; I think it gives most cops a superiority complex on top of being “ the law “ and what not so there just completely out of touch with anything else other than what the automatic negative assumption of any given situation would be ; like in this case either it the bathroom was out of order or they just didn’t want any non paying customers to use it because of drug use and high crime in deep elem but either way a little compassion and understanding would’ve gone a long way

As a wartime military retiree, I suffer (among many) a similar disability having "gone the gauntlet" with flight attendants, airport officials, etc. over the seconds-notice need for a toilet. I carry documentation to that effect in the glove boxes of all my vehicles and in my travel folder when flying. I feel his pain and frustration!

Many businesses do not allow the general public to use their restrooms, unless you are a paying customer. The restaurant has hired police officers for security purposes to enforce their rules (no public restroom) and to keep order. The police are not being investigated for refusing to allow the man to use the restroom, they are being investigated for laughing when the man urinated on himself.

In Dallas a lot of the businesses, especially in areas like Deep Ellum, will not let you use the bathroom unless you buy something. I'm a diabetic in a wheelchair and a restaurant did this to me. It's messed up

From what I gather, he has a medical condition backed up by paperwork. Having this paperwork means any public place is required to allow him to use the rest room, regardless of whether he is a customer or not, or even if they are closing for the night. A poor show of simple human nature, and more so from people whose sole responsibility in their job is to serve the public. Indefensible behaviour!

I retired nearly twenty years ago and I do not know what the hel@ is going on with current police practices. Most of these people would not have made the cut back in the day. When I applied to my department, there were just over 2000 applicants to take the written exam. By the time the entire testing process was over, less than 50 were offered a slot in the academy and less than 40 made it through the Academy and Field Training. Now they give badges and guns to non-citizens. That's right, my former department allows anyone with a green card to apply. Sad.

There should be some sort of clause that allows discipling of officers for inappropriate behavior , even when there is no statute covering said specific behavior . Police officers along with regular American citizens can thank active and veteran military service members for the safety we provide(d) them against foreign aggressors from taking over America destroying everyone's way of life, including civilian police officers. As a former civilian LEO and Marine veteran, sometimes I have no idea what LEOs in the community think military service members do for the country. These Dallas clowns clearly do not know. I guarantee you, there are LEOs who do know, appreciate and respect military service members and veterans, and think these particular officers and those like them are disgusting and undeserving of the respect they want from others. There are police departments across this nation that are notorious for cruelty, disrespect, and violating the civil rights of the people they're supposed to be protecting. Dallas and Fort Worth are among those departments. Stems from the top down. The two officers aren't being paid by tax payers nor are they on duty, sometimes departments encourage officers to do extra duty the business establishment pays the officers to act within a security capacity.
