These women are insane. I met my husband at the bottom of the barrel, we were both there lol. Fine dining for us was Applebee's. Most dates were walks, free events, pizza and Subway. He had my back and I had his. I'd go to his place, bring groceries and cook so he had lunch for the next 2 days. Some days he sent me $30 bucks when I was 5 hrs away doing my masters broke af. This man took a bus for 6 hrs to attend my graduation. Picked me up with all my crap in his dad's car to move me back home. Today we have a combined income of 200k+ and a beautiful son. This could be you too but you crazy.

You are living my dream life, kudos to you and your husband!! ❤ me and my boyfriend are 21 and at the "bottom of the barrel" right now 😂 I just started off in hairdressing and barely make $9/hour before tips, and my boyfriend is working food service and retail to make ends meet while being a caregiver to his elderly nana. We are saving so we can move out together, then he can go to school. We have been dating for 4 years, and we definitely both have made stupid decisions with money lol. 😅 our plan is to eventually save up enough for a homestead, we want to live as sustainably as possible on a couple acres. Wish us luck 🙏

@@sync_mxlly5610 of course. You wouldn't want to be with someone with no ambition. But you shouldn't expect them to make a certain amount before even considering a date. If he has dreams and the ambition and dedication to make them happen, there's absolutely nothing wrong with what he's making when you first start dating. Especially when you're young. The older you are the smaller the dating pool gets and most of the men that make that type of money at the age of 30+ is already married or engaged. MOST (not all) of the men left for women around her age are going to be broke. @@TSSPDarkStar That just doesn’t happen. When it comes to dating, we are talking about what actually happens because we are discussing a generalization and not a case by case event. Sounds like you're in good shape. If I could make one recommendation though it is try to find you a piece of land to buy and then put a mobile home on it. People make fun of it but I live on a little over 3 acres of land and a old single wide and I own all of it. A lot of my friends tell me how lucky I am even though they live in houses. They're all penny pinched when it comes down to money yet I'm able to save or spend money and do what I want. Renting is fine and it sounds like you got a good setup but I would definitely start thinking about something long-term and permanent. I know some people just like to rent so I guess if that's your thing then keep doing it but long-term it would be nice to own something. Especially in this day and age it's so hard to have anything.

Hell yes it is, but we sacrifice what we want for what we need and we are incredibly happy. Man I cannot come online without getting hit with some major depressing news. 50k is too broke? Are we just supposed to crawl into a hole and die because we’re unworthy of someone’s time, love, and affection? This kind of thought process is ridiculous. Does this mean love has a monetary value? What if you get sick and can’t work? My dad was the breadwinner until he shattered his wrist. My mom stepped up and started to work until he got back on his feet. My dad did the same for my mom when she had her heart attack. People who make these ridiculous claims truly conflate money with love and it’s gross. Edit: I’m a woman.

The people I know with luxury items are drowning in debt and can’t afford to not work and take a trip. If people overlook the messenger and focus on the economy does she have a point? Because I don’t see houses for people earning $50k , raising kids is getting more and more expensive, used cars, college etc why is the discussion always about looks not the state of the economy? I think people shd focus on what can be done to make living more affordable for everyone. Because what will happen to her is some guy will impregnate her and skip taking care of the child because he can’t afford to , or he can only afford $300 per month she has to come up with the rest. So she has a right to talk about the economics of dating even if she looks a certain way . When people are dating next thing is babies who need homes to live in and diapers and healthcare and many more things which aren’t free or easily accessible to low income people. So why shd she date to put herself in poverty or make herself a single mom struggling on her own because the guy skipped? I never get this “delusional” argument because at the end of the day it’s the woman who is left with costs and bills of dating if the guy is poor, I actually think it’s tone deaf to characterize it as being delusional. It’s realistic. Because how many single moms work 2 jobs to support kids on their own because they are barely getting anything from father or nothing. And how many men say I want to but can’t afford to support my kids? So women should just sacrifice themselves and be unsupported single mom’s? Where is the delusion in saying poor men shouldn’t date? Because I don’t see where the delusion is . If it’s in numbers of well off vs poor men then I think it’s a misogynistic perspective. It shows a lack of care for the welfare of women and children and a lack of sympathy for struggling single moms. So much so it doesn’t even register to people what happens when people date , babies, and who shoulders the cost if father is poor or what is the trajectory of a relationship where there are responsibilities but no money to cover them? Because women get left holding the bag if dating becomes more trouble than it’s worth aka if there are responsibilities. Hence why women aren’t delusional to talk about a guys income. The women who go around saying I don’t care how much a guy earns you find most of the bitter , angry, overworked and single being mocked for being used up , unattractive and blamed for not choosing better. What does choosing better mean? Isn’t how much a guy can earn part of that equation of choosing better? Sooner or later than guy will leave because he can’t cope with the responsibilities. That’s how women become bitter single moms.

Do you have the ability to go work, do you have an education that you invested in? Do you have something to fall back on if amd when things go south? Because 75% of marriages fail, do you think all those couples said, well we will give it a few yrs but I'm sure we'll divorce. NO! no one EXPECTS to get divorced!! But it happens more often then not. Keep your options open, always keep your career, always have money set aside that only you have access too on both sides! This crap where my money is my money and your money is my money? No sir/ma'am that shit don't fly! Look out for yourself, take care of yourself, and hope things go well but always have a back up in case they don't! Not because they are lazy bums or not doing their very best, because shit is genuinely hard out here. The median is pointless here. The number you are drawing from is all Americans ages of 15 and up (239,100,000 Americans) that make more than $1 a year. The mean which was the average of the entirety of that demographic was actually 59k a year. Which is reported everywhere. You're grabbing the median income when the group for this statistic starts at age 15. You see even more different numbers if you go from 25 and up, where most ADULT Americans are around the 50k mark. Look it up, you'll see that most americans ages 21 to 24 on average make around 30k a year, same for 16-19. With all of those in the mix at 15 and up, definitely do not go based off the median, because after 25 we see a drastic jump in individual income.

You also have to take into account a good number of these people promoting this are in big cities that are very expensive to live. 50K may be broke in NYC or Los Angeles, but in other areas you could live decently on that amount. If I made 50K, I wouldn't have to worry about money anywhere near as much; I'd be good.

@@brianring-nu9dwClearly don’t know how that low income family deals. Most good relationship that have low income. Make by simply being family and sharing responsibility of paying bills. Meaning not just mother or father being bread winner. Both people working together to rise children.

@@brianring-nu9dwDon’t get started family different types of family. As learn crazy stuff about how some people get by. Imagine father and mother making 40k each. Yet also live with other family members together in household. All together that household income is about million. This may experience living in New York City. Pay attention how people manage to make living in my city.

That's 35k after government and state tax which is like 2900 a month take home. That's not a lot of money after living expenses.

I grew up in that weird phase where some of my childhood was no social media then MySpace then the social media blow up…. And I can honestly say social media has ruined dating. It use to be cute and fun to date. Now we all have plenty of options and these standards have become ridiculous.

Bro, it’s insane because even when you finally measure up to people’s standards and they go out with you? You have a chance of running into a girl who STILL treats you like shit.
