An honest, tireless,friend of poor and unfortunate , totally incorruptible and great saint well deserving of many more Nobel's. If u all judge him because he speaks the truth and not what u all would prefer him to say could never change this great Saint. The president that followed him has left a mess that will take your life time to clean up . He is million time the man Reagan ever will be or was. Rather than retiring in his cushy living room like all Republicans , he is globally involved.

Incredible that this wonderful human being since this debate has now celebrated his 75th wedding anniversary , recovered from a brain tumour operation and sadly suffered a child’s death ……..remains active at 96 and still as sharp as a button , God bless Jimmy Carter , they broke the mould when he was born .

I respect Carter, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed to hear in this commentary that he felt America made the right decision in the beginning by going after bin laden and going into Afghanistan. I am a believer that there was no real proof of bin ladens' participation. It is my understanding that Carter did not initiate any war on his watch. If so, I applaud him on that.

+James Line it is a deep shame but look at America at the time. The Iran crisis was booming, the economy was weak, Russia was swinging its dick around. Even if none of these were really the fault of Carter, the responsibility was laid at it his feet. Reagan only really got in because he said he would do it all differently and the American people believed him and not Carter. I do much prefer Carter over the hot head that was Reagan

The most decent human being on the planet. As a young woman I always thought highly of Pres. Carter, he always struck me as sincere. I'm watching now and have seen in other interviews with Carter is how he listens and it looks like he searches inside himself before he answers. He's 87 at this time and eliminating guinea worm disease is what he desires to do. I never even heard of guinea worm.

He smoked Ford in Presidential debate. People didn’t know who this man was start of his campaign. This Southern Governor and peanut farm. But Carter former naval intelligence officer knew foreign affairs and is a very intelligent man. He always remained informed on topics while Governor. He and Nixon had some highest IQ scores of presidents known to have tested. Just a fine good and decent man.

I never considered half the things Carter said about the problem of a one state solution. Eventually non-Jews will be able to outvote elected Jewish officials. Only way Jewish politicians will be able to stay in power is Arab voters are not allowed to vote. That, of course, would be chaos.

Although I have met President Carter in person, I can only hope that I will never "find" Jesus. It is high in in our country to worship the nonfictional Christian and former president whose initials are J.C." instead of the fictional Jewish zombie character that also shared the same initials and can be found only in the libel, uh bible.

Mr. Carter was such a humble and peace loving person who has spend more than half his life supporting others. My heart is with him always. One point that always disappoint and anger me is his policy on Ethiopia while he was a president. While socialist Somalia had invaded a large portion of Ethiopia(which was a very good friend and allied of USA) he hold the weapons and aircrafts purchased & paid by Ethiopian government. In a desperate move to gain wepons, protect itself and fight against the socialist somalia at the time, Ethiopia joins the socialist side. That was a very unfortunate and desperate move which I am sure Mrs Carter will still regrate. If not his administration has not taken such actions, Ethiopia may not have moved to the eastern block and such crisis ever since might not have occurred. That is a betrayal for a dear and very friendly country.

That’s why we come here to get some understanding about ourselves for the people who were elected president today now yes it’s gone too far away from church and the owner behavior that they be acting like that to the forigner who comes to the untested states today now

What a genuinely honorable and decent man Carter is. He missed the one possibility with the Palestinian issue. Everything stays the same, no peace agreement Israel holds all the cards, more and more settlements, continued apartheid, no real threat to Israel from the Palestinians. His comments about the corporations now legally contributing to campaigns with no limits is probably the most important issue facing our country today. Is there any question now that the people have lost control of our direction? So sad. There will never be Presidents elected based on their character and representation of the people again.

look um can we be honest here? I too am a liberal democrat and Carter was a terrible president. Unemployment was extremely high and the economy was in shambles. He did not handle the Iran hostage situation well, and he was soft. He was a nice guy but he was the nice guy who finished last. Reagan was a great president. He restored Americas pride. Carter and W are perhaps the worst the presidents this country has ever seen. Again this is coming from a democrat.
@lukebarnes02

I don't agree. He got the hostages out without starting a war or getting one of the hostages killed. The economic problems were not his fault, the ball was rolling before he got in, he just got it handed to him, and if anything he slowed that roll down. Carter may not have inspired pride in all, but he did for me. He told the truth, the hard truth, and most just couldn't handle the truth. He sees the real America, one that promotes peace, love, and equality. Reagan just made lies that sounded good and made people happy.
