It was great, but too long, I prefer the general discussion. A quick summary would have been better IMO. Still loved it overall. Especially considering we are all supposed to watch a long week to week it just seems unnecessary .

You see, the thing about the MCU is that at least all their films are competently made. They don't have a Suicide Squad on them. Not trying to make this a Marvel vs DC thing (cause there's no reason not to like both..), but I'm just trying to point out how Marvel's REALLY been killing it. Their worst films are at least decent, which is insane IMO and a huge accomplishment. I can't wait till you guys see Iron Man 3. Fanboys understandably got upset about the Mandarin twist, but it's written/directed by Shane Black and it actually works. I love the liberties the MCU takes. Bucky and Cap are more like brothers, Vulture's kid is Peter's crush, etc,.

Can we mention the fact that Robert Downey Jr was basically acting against thin air whenever Tony interacts with his JARVIS UI. the VFX is added afterwards. Great acting by RDJ and the VFX! I just wanted to point that out because I think it's so well done that people probably forget it's not real. I know i do sometimes. Anyway, loving this feature y'all! 😆

This movie meanders so much. It starts off as though it's going to be a look into Tony Starks ego, but quickly detours into 3 or 4 other things. Iron Man 1 had a discernible theme, it wasn't particularly strong, but it was evident; Iron Man 2 feels like a long series of brainstorming more than a coherent narrative. The dialogue is still sharp and the characters are no less fun to watch, but I feel like the needle moved so little for all of them and that - when there were changes - they weren't well justified or expanded on. I like the soundtrack and cinematography ever so slightly more, but otherwise felt that the movie was weaker than the first. If Iron Man 1 was a 6.9, then Iron Man 2 was a 6.2

Am I the only one who realises how little sense the blood toxicity plot makes? In the firs movie Tony can get by with a regular battery and the only reason he made the arc reactor is to power the suite, but here this supposedly genius can't figure out that he can use a regular battery for his heart and not have the arc reactor connected to his body.
@nOVA19876 жыл бұрын
Tony makes an element based on the Tesseract, based on his father's notes on the Tesseract which he came into contact with in Cap1. As Erik Selvig points out in Avengers, the Tesseract cannot fight or protect itself from itself. A much more accurate meaning is that no Infinity Gem could fight another one, and thus, Loki's Sceptre couldn't control Tony, which I thought was pretty cool.

I think the fact that you are coming at these reviews after the fact and more just to enjoy the movie rather than having a critical review will allow you to see the movies a little more honestly. I recall liking Iron Man 2...some day I will get to watching them all again, but I don't have the resources atm! That said, I don't think Thor is that bad. Though, for the first half of it I did feel like Thor was a lot less likable than Loki, but that's probably why they set it up that way. Glad you guys are enjoying these movies.

I think the synopsis is a great way to structure the episodes and allow everyone to jump in and say "I like this!" or "Ehh on that", so it's definitely a big boon to the show. I'm not so sure about the amount of cacophony though, there are times where it feels like nobody can get a word in or indulge a bit too much in the insanity. I appear to be in the minority though!

If you watch the special features on the Blu-Ray, RDJ and Don actually wear practical suits on their heads, torso, shoulders and sometimes arms throughout filming. That's why the doughnut restaurant looked as good as it does. Tony actually has a practical suit on from the waist up! But I believe after this movie RDJ (mostly!) never wears any form of practical suit ever again. Also, Justin Hammer appears again in the "All Hail the King" short film on the Thor: The Dark World blu-ray.
