I tend to only feel pity for her because she isn't really aware of how she comes off to other people. She never learned to adjust and adapt and mature socially because she didn't have a stable family to learn from. Her life as a child consisted of being neglected socially and emotionally, being left with people who ran homes like an orphanage. So in order to survive, she learned to get what she wanted through abnormal ways. Nobody ever treated her like a child, but like a burden, so she sees others as a means to an end. She never had an example to learn from and to teach her how to behave in a socially appropriate way. She is a victim of learned helplessness. She lacks self efficacy, which leads to an innate inability to achieve goals. In her world and mind she has a perceived lack of control over outside influences despite having the opportunity to gain control.

tbh that’s the vibes i’ve always gotten from tarot readings i’ve been given: not a set in stone “tells the future” but “here are some roads you could go down and ways to achieve/avoid those outcomes”. fortune telling is way different than future telling as fortune is about luck and probability. those things inform how your future could look but it’s not 100%. i honestly am not sure i believe in a lot of that stuff but my wiccan friend has explained it to me. she’s a psych student and says for her, wicca is kinda like therapy because it’s not a quick fix, it’s tools. things aren’t just gonna change cause you had one session/had one reading. that’s just a tool to get you to the future you want. when described like that it made way more sense to my skeptical mind

You are one of my favorite reactors to Amber cuz u focus on her horrible behavior. A little backstory on me, I'm the child of a narc. Growing up what I now know were symptoms of a health issue were ignored cuz they thought I was just doing these things for attention. Fast forward to being on dialysis in my early 20s. Our relationship has never been good but I didn't truly understand what my parent was until this past year. I've been on dialysis over a decade now and had many ups n downs. My health really deteriorated recently, forcing me to live with my parent. It's a living hell. This time last year I suffered from muscle atrophy and a condition brought on by my kidney failure which led me to being on hospice and told I only had 6 months to live. My parent forced me to keep this diagnosis to myself. I refused to just quit on life n I chose physical therapy over hospice care. I went from being in a wheelchair for almost 2 years to walking with a cane today. I've had depression n self-ending thoughts n attempts my entire life. I fought to stay here alone, in shame and guilt. No one truly knew I was facing death n I think the guilt dumped on me by my narc really boosted my willpower to get better. When I thought I was gonna die I tried to address the lifetime of hurt I felt cuz of them n they denied it all. Today, they take credit for me beating the odds when in all honesty, the silver lining to my diagnosis was that I would be free of them. I see so much of Amber in my narc that it's scary. Her flippant attitude towards her own health while mocking and assimilating the illnesses others have is sickening. She deletes so many of my comments cuz what I say hits home n we know narcs hate a negative reflection in the mirror. I'm truly so happy you're feeling better and I hope u continue to heal and thrive. You've created an awesome community that rallied around u and defended u against her mean spirited response. Two things really stick out to me about Amber and thinking about if she’s a true narcissist or not. She always says “Amber Lynn Reid” in third person (instead of just saying me or I like anyone else would) when referring to her self, and whenever her pets approach her she always talks about how much they love her, not how much she loves them.

So Amber has two smiles. Her genuine smile and her fake one are fairly easy to decipher. So I need to know if anyone has realized that the ONLY time we ever see a genuine smile, and a look of pure joy on her face is when she's getting ready to eat something! If it's something she REALLY likes we may even get a giggle! This is a serious question I promise I'm not making fun of or bullying her, but there's really no other way to ask.

I’m autistic with cptsd and Im bad with names. I have so much going on at once at every second that I have to focus super hard on names. What I do, though, is repeat the name back to the person to try and remember it. I get what you are saying about how Amber doesnt remember names though, but just wanted to point out that remembering names is hard for a lot of people. I prefer Delta-9 to 8 because the delta-8 gummies make me actually stoned. I can barely move and I hate that. With Delta-9 I can function throughout the day. Btw…she was deflecting. You do not appear to have narcissistic traits but she does. And if she would admit that to herself, she could actually attempt to get it treated. Its not a peaceful life to constantly have an ego so fragile that every single thing is about you in some way. Thats a miserable life. And it can be treated; but she has to want to change. Sadly, depending on the personality disorder, it can be hard to realize you have it. I suspect she lies to her therapists, so they might not be catching the traits.
