I don’t think House EVER went down hill. I enjoyed all 8 seasons.
@Anythingidontreallycare8 ай бұрын
I liked the fact that we got the old and loved house back in season 7. I saw it as this: House for the past 5 seasons was always against the fact that good only leads to good, being nice gets you here instead of there etc. and he hated the idea. Season 6 was when he first tried this, and was still touch and go with it at first, but then slowly started to grow into it, then finally diving into it in the last episode with the crane wreck. He gets to know the patient, comforts her when she panicked, stayed with her so she wasn’t alone, opened up to her unlike anything we’ve ever seen and then finally making the call that was the only thing that made sense to do, even if it cost her a leg. He did the complete opposite of what people were telling him not to do, but it all crashed violently when the patient died in the back of the ambulance. Like he says when foreman tells him he did the right thing “I did everything right, she died anyway. Why the hell do you think that’ll make me feel any better”. His hopes were taken from him, bringing him back to square one.

There was one love intrest that only hit one episode but ended up a waste of potential. Maddie from the Episode Merry Little Christmas. House was all jokes but you could see him hurting, and trying to be honest he was heartfelt and i felt there was great chemistry. It was right in the middle of the Michael Tritter Arc and he could have used a friend who knew how hurtful it was to stay strong in adversity. But sadly she ended up just a one episode character. Amazing strong analasys. I'm loving this!
@Jartran728 ай бұрын
You mean the woman with dwarfism? I don't think they actually ever said her name. They had.. banter chemistry, but I don't think there was any genuine love interest there. He was rude as usual, coming on very strong, they both understood what it was like to face adversity and bonded a little. But that was it. I kinda would have felt weird if he actually started clinic patients.. That could cost him his license straight up.

Not sure if this ever gets addressed, but there seems to be a section missing at around 25 minutes (right before talking about the house/wilson finale). I’d love to know what commentary we missed from you there ! I’m currently on my like, 9th rewatch of house and for whatever reason, this time around I’m noticing so much more about his interpersonal relationships and all the nuance that was put into his character. Finding your series on this has been fantastic, and I can’t wait to see what the next episode entails ! Everything is so well put together and concise, I’m so glad you watched house in the first place and were able to share this amazing analysis with the world 🙏🏼❤️
@somewhereinthemiddle65342 ай бұрын
Yes! I talked about the finale and how Wilson and house both push each other to the brink, and how despite how selfish House can be, the show closes with him being a good guy and selfless, and someone we can think about who didn't final good deed and gave up everything. Couldn't show emotion or say "I love you", but he sure as hell walked the walk. Sorry lol, I think I got copyrighted and had to cut some out (which I hateeee). I can always send you the transcript of what I said!! ❤️ I also want to thank you millions for your kind words. Means the world!!!

As someone who took a trip to a mental ward at 17 they really nailed the feeling of being at one. season 6 premiere just accurately depicted the experience of not being able to go through you daily routine and not being able to enable your destructive behaviors. It takes a lot of denial and self reflection before you can truly accept and understand the process in there. Instead of fighting against the doctors trying to help you have to be willing to trust and accept the help. Which includes admitting to your faults and making an effort to put yourself out there. A beautiful pair of episodes that kick off an amazing arc for season six. One that puts the show in my personal top ten. It would be my favorite show of all time if they ended it there with house becoming a better person but his character taking a full 180 just so he can act like a child again is the writers basically pulling a house. Rejecting the change and going back to the status quo which is ironic.

Watching fhese videos i have 2 things to take away. 1 you and your content are criminally underrated and i believe character analysis is an amazing topic that can cover alot of time for any character And 2 analysing house are the first few videos ive watched on your channel but it made me realise why i am so intrigued by this character, simply put i am very much like house everything from personality type to interests and self destruction especially romantically, im not saying im even close to being as smart as house he is way out of that league but i find comfort and pure dread when i think how alike i am to house, he is the enbodiment of an antihero and while not necessarily a bad thing its not exactly what you would like to imagine yourself as, I think this analysis somehow managed to put my oneself into perspective of a third person view, all of my actiojs and how i live and what decisions i make its very clear there are some things i didnt realise before that i would want to change while im not trying to strive for perfection it has been very useful to have this outsider look into my oneself. I love house m.d and dr. House but its not exactly the type of character i envision myself becoming so if anything j guess thank you for this odd and unexpected revelation youve definitely earned a sub from me and im excited to see your channel flourish, without doubt this level of professional analysis is bound to get you somewhere

Anyone else wonder if they should have done a spinoff show about House’s life after wilson passed? I could see that being interesting, but I literally just finished watching House today so I’m definitely a bit biased lol. Maybe after losing his best friend and dealing with his grief he could try to work on making actual meaningful relationships with people while hiding his identity. I think that would just be good tv honestly

SO funny you mention this, I swear a few months ago I had a dream that I was watching a House reboot in like 2027 where House was like working in some small African town treating kids, being kinda goofy and grumpy but was more sincere than normal. He had a thick beard and looked like he hadn't showered in weeks. I think the plot was that someone from PPTH had spent months trying to get in touch with him because Cuddy was dying or something, and he was the only one that could help. So the trailer or something of this clip was him walking from behind with his cane back at PPTH but you could see his big beard. IDK weird hahaha

Shoot yeah that edit is pretty bad, gotta fix it. Had to remove a portion where there was a copyright issue when I was showing some final few episode House/Wilson scenes. LUCKY FOR YOU - I actually have the script saved from this one. And thanks for asking, re-reading my notes on this one - this was probably some of my favorite parts of this video. Shame youtube decided my clips were a bit too long and adjusting that is tough. :) Just imagine this without the weird jokes and intercut relevant clips: "As the show goes on, House and Wilson’s overly dependent relationship develops. They move in together, get through tragedies together - and House even fakes his death on the series finale to ensure he can spend time in Wilson’s final days. At the beginning of season 8, House is fresh out of prison- which happens after you a ram a car through an ex’s house, and flee the country for 3 months. In order to stay out of jail, he’s put under Foreman’s supervision at PPTH, and told to behave and not exhibit his stereotypical unruliness. When Wilson is diagnosed with cancer and given only 5 months to live, a petty prank House plays on Foreman ends up backfiring and House’s parole gets revoked. House is then faced with the sad reality that he will have to go back to prison to serve the rest of his sentence, hereby missing Wilson’s final days on earth. WIlson’s illness being the show’s ending plotline is both appropriate and troublesome. I think that the show had been leading up to and ending Cuddy for so long, that there is a huge gaping hole in the last season when Lisa Edelstein lives. With Wilson and House growing so much throughout the show, - it DOES makes sense for House’s character arc to end with him doing something for his best friend. Hell, it’s the only relationship that holds any weight on the show. And House tends to show Wilson how much he needs him. And, of course, vice versa. I think this brings me to one of the most important points about House. Past the addiction, self-sabotage, and general ass-holery, the show ends with House becoming a different person. Every single episode, House is a doctor. He has a job, and he treats patients. But when he learns about Wilson’s sickness, he is not House anymore. He’s transformed. He’s now Greg. Greg visits the doctors with Wilson, gets him drunk to help him numb his feelings and help him deal with it, takes a huge risk illegally administering Wilson’s chemo drugs at his own apartment, even sincerely offering to change his adult diaper during this deal. He even gives his last Vicodin to Wilson to comfort him. Greg is amazing. When he learns Wilson’s cancer can’t be cured, and he only has a short time to live, Greg does everything he can to help Wilson. The doctors say that if he does chemotherapy, it will give him some extra time, but not save him. Greg ensures him that he will get a few years if he chooses to do this. Wilson says he doesn't want to spend his final days in the hospital in excruciating pain. Greg does whatever he can to convince Wilson to do chemo. Whether it be drug him, convince him there’s no afterlife, or surround him with people he BELIEVES he helped. Greg is scrambling to convince his best friend that sticking around for a bit longer is worth it. Greg then "surrenders" and is very nice to him, very sincere. He opens up to Wilson and just wants him to live longer so they can spend more time together. I would like to believe that House has nothing left, and is trying to do his best. He does his best because he really cares about his best friend. And when House fakes his death to spend time with Wilson in his final days, it’s bittersweet, to say the least."

I don't think House is misogynistic for the most part. He is a jerk toward everyone equally, and generally when he has conflict with women it isn't their gender that's at the center of it, but rather the way that person thinks or acts. Criticising women, or being a jerk to a woman, isn't misogynistic unless it is _because_ they are a woman.

I hated how after all of the growth in season 6.. in season 7 it got reversed for no reason. He could have started going to therapy again when he got together with Cuddy, he could have done so much more to be a better boyfriend. I mean why would he be selfish to the point where he can't even take out the garbage for the love of his life? He can be sacrificing for Wilson but not for Cuddy? I.. I was so unhappy, the episode Bombshells killed me. I had a last hope for him to be happy with Dominica.. but ofcourse he played that like an idiot too, even though she was clearly interested in him to some degree, it came over as genuine too. He should fight with Cuddy over patient treatment, there should be Drama but he should not be this season 3 jerk to her, that is just stupid.
