Is It Okay to Just Ride for Fun? (Asking for a MotoVlogger Friend)

Sometimes we must remember why we purchased a motorbike in the first place...to RIDE. I've been so focused on trying to grow my KZbin channel that I realized that my desire for riding was evading me due to the many hours sitting behind a computer. This video is simply sharing a ride and enjoying the 72 degree weather!

every 100 miles away, is a better ride day, so living in Florida, a nice ride, is the chestnut mountain sky resort, In Illinois. great food there.

Been riding for 60 years. Started on a ‘47 Cushman scooter and now back to the same ADV you have. Have a garage full of motorcycles I can’t ride because of the weight. The ADV at 300 lbs now fits my POU, philosophy of use. It’s my second car for local trips at less than 60 mph. A bonus is the gas mileage at 100 mpg, I’ll take it!

I am 75 years old and I just bought a 2024 Honda ADV 160 and I love it. I feel safer riding around town since the speed is slower. Never know its fun to ride on a scooter. I change the factory tires to better tires.

I changed over to full synthetic on my first oil change. Mechanics said it was ok only not to ever go back to regular conventional oil once I did it. Apparently, it will mess up your engine if you do just like a car. So far it is doing great. I went with the Pro Honda HP4S 10w-30. Thanks for your videos again. I'm not far from you. I'm In Kentucky just North of Lexington.

Switching back to standard oil is a debate that one can read about forever, but I don't plan to. The Honda Pro HP4S is a fine choice. Only reason I went with Motul is that I read about their history and I liked what I read. Many of the modern oils today are perfectly fine and it usually comes down to personal choice. Hey from Ohio! Ya know I thank ya for making these. I only watch a small percentage. OH.. Another Scott. haha. I grabbed the 150 a year ago for odd reasons. To have something I could play around on dirt roads and maybe national forests but have a tagged vehicle and be legal. Life kinda stopped things from happening for some of that but I still get out a few times every so many weeks. Just locally. I've never been a moto rider so I'm not super confident on the road. I'm slowly building confidence . ALSO i'm totally self conscious and keep thinking people are just staring at me. It's real mood. lol. Thanks for being unintentional motivation. I do know I want to get better wind screen for speeds near 60. I could ride a quad at 70 down a dirt road and not thing twice about the wind on a bare head/face. But the moto and helmet is just ... well it hits different. lol

I don't see the US ever getting to the point where the majority of people ride smaller, more economical motorbikes. Americans are urged to spend money on expensive vehicles. Every other TV commercial is either an expensive vehicle or a new pharmaceutical drug.

Of course it is, and on this scooter saves a ton of gas which makes it even more fun because you can ride longer without hurting the wallet. It is a good feeling going for a 45 mile ride and the digital gas gauge just starts to move down one bar on a 2.1 gallon tank. 80-110 MPG, varies depending on many environmental factors

I know where your at, I used to pick up at Best Buy in Findlay, Ohio and run 23 south, to 270 to 33, into WV. out to 77 south.( always had go loads out of there just before (Black Friday)

this summer, a few of use, are running all back roads, ( I'm from Florida, (3) of use from here, 1 out of WV & 2 from NJ. are meeting in Sandyville WV. to tour across route 50. were doing all the national parts, in CO, AZ, WY, UT, ID, MT. we are loading a large trailer with the bikes, and parking in Canyon city Co. and doing all the parks, by camping. in 2017 we all met in Dodge city. ( what a boring ride) so this time were trailering the bike out, then riding@@Trekopolis

May I ask, what are you doing with your radiator coolant? I tried searching your vids but came up empty handed. Says to replace every 3 years

I plan to show that process once it warms up outside. The coolant can be checked under one of the rubber floor boards and that's where the reservoir is to check the level. However, to drain and fill looks like a process I'd have to research more and once I do that video is on my "to do" list for sure. This summer will be year #3 so perfect timing actually.

Nice video love just riding around and checking out the view and was wondering if you have had any mechanical problems with the scooter and what maintenance you have done and how many miles are it now.

Good times for sure! Nope, no mechanical issues, but I have low miles (about 2K) still because I don't ride far away. Everything I need is right here in the city. Everything from horses to Walmart. I recently noticed some oil spots underneath the bike, but I just changed my oil and made sure I didn't overfill it and so far no oil drips. I think it may have been slightly too much oil last change. That's the only thing I can figure out. It was hard to even tell where the spots were coming from. Anyway, I've done three oil changes, inspected spark plug, changed gear old, air filter inspection, but nothing major yet.

I basically only subscribed for the 150cc class bike content. Unsubbed from Quasimotard because he stopped commuting with his scoots. The cannonball stuff is extremely fun, still. Larger bikes and sports bikes don't interest me. I like the small size, lightness, and fuel economy of the 150cc class. Also can't stand the obnoxious loudness of large bikes.

Yep, Quasi's content was a large factor in deciding on a smaller bike. I was interested in a PCX150, but couldn't find one locally, even used so when some ADV150's came in I snatched one right away, especially once I saw one in person. Anyway, thanks for subbing and I'll have plenty more "150" material to come between other projects.

@@Trekopolis you can order a pattern, in squares, and make a template, out of cray paper, to draw out a design. just flip the paper over, for the right to left side of the pattern. easy
