I remember this airing on MTV over, and over. Michael was delivering a powerful message. I'm 48 years old. To this day, one of the greatest songs ever written.

Absolutely. I am 78 and have followed Michael since he was a mere child. This song was very impactful to the timeliness of the world we were living in, and is worse, in many ways today and it is very sad. I think the world is marinating in divisiveness. Madness!

Back then the videos were very important to the music. Most older guys like me can tell you what video went with each song. And yes, this one hits hard. One of Michaels best songs. He had alot of trouble in his personal life, but his musical legacy is incredible.

This was a HUGE song, Michael has never shy away from important issues. The video was a heavy hitter on MTV. Check out his other heavy issue songs " Earth Song" will blow you way! and "They don't care about us" simply a head of its time. There will never be another artist like MJ

To answer ur question. Yes, we grew up in the late 60’s/70’s. Remember all this well. Sadly it’s still happening today. Grew up with Micheal and Jackson Five. Now in my 60’s, grandfather who did our best. The question is, can u look in the mirror? The future is up to you, hope u make the right choice for u and ur family. Life’s too short, be good, nice and respectful. Thx BTW- Michael IS and always the king of pop culture. Thank you young men

One of the best songs Michael has written. Incredible song & video. Check out his live version from the Grammy's. Incredible and will give you chills. Sadly, nothing seems to have changed. Some moves forward, then back again. Man just simply cannot get past greed & hate. This video still hits the emotions. Michael's passionate vocals in this song and the gospel singers backing are incredible.

I remember hair the song first on the cassette tape, I remember the video, I remember when these images occurred. Man In the Mirror is my mom favorite song by MJ. Beat It was mine but has a 40 grown woman his more impactful song makes my heart sing. 15 years ago I remember watching CNN and the news being interrupted by Michael being rushed to the hospital, I remember them reporting He’s in a coma and I remember when CNN reported he died. I remember yelling Mom, Michael Jackson died and her not believing me and her making surf the internet for everything to was being said. Now my mom and MJ are partying in Heaven. 😢🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

It was and still is the most powerful merging of visual, lyrical, and musical message to ever be created. It reduced people to tear puddles upon seeing it because it was so powerful in confronting the viewer. Someone should re-make a version replacing some of the more dated footage. But this had so much. War, famine, apartheid in SAfrica, genocide, worker solidarity, corporatization, ecology, pollution, the most selfless versions of ourselves who have been murdered trying to help others.
