GUYS!!! I can’t say enough how thrilled I am that you finally got around to Queen & Freddie Mercury!! TIP: Don’t stop here, because you absolutely HAVE to see Freddie perform LIVE… Freddie Mercury has actually been voted the Best Vocalist and Best Frontman in Rock Music… for a REASON!🤯 Freddie had a four octave vocal range. His voice was actually studied by a group of scientific researchers(!) because he had a vibrato faster than Pavarotti’s and he was also able to do something rare with his voice called “subharmonics”. (As one person put it, Freddie was able to sing 20 different songs and sound like 20 different people.) Outside of Queen, Freddie also recorded an album of OPERA (titled Barcelona) with a famous opera singer (Montserrat Caballé). …While there are undoubtedly other bands who sound equally good on stage vs studio, Queen is the only band who’s renowned for being even BETTER LIVE than in-studio. I even prefer their live performance of “Bohemian Rhapsody” (especially Freddie’s live vocals on the Rock section!) …One of the best versions on-video is at: MONTREAL in 1981 P.S. In this studio version of the song, the a capella harmonies at the beginning are actually ALL only Freddie Mercury (even tho all the band members are lip syncing for visual effect). Freddie recorded himself singing five different harmony lines, then put them together.

I know you are great fan and you always do an excellent job to inform people of Freddie, but that study done on Freddie's voice was terrible, it wasn't done by a scientist who knows anything about singing at all. It is not that strange to have a fast vibrato. There were many opera singers that had faster vibratos than Pavarotti, that was more similar to Freddie. It seems like this study only knew one opera singer.

Freddie Roger John Brian are together in our hearts forever. Yes Freddie was born to sing and perform. He was a magnificent songwriter. He was artistic in nature. Those who truly love music and art would appreciate him and his musical talents. When you look at Freddie, you see music. 🎼 🎶🌠

You asked what Bohemian means? A Bohemian is a socially unconventional person, especially an arty type, artist, writer, A rhapsody in music is work that is episodic, free-flowing in structure, with highly contrasted moods, colour, and tonality and an air of spontaneous inspiration and a sense of improvisation. Apparently the story was that Freddie had a few unfinished songs hanging around and cobbled them together to give us this amazing experience. I've listened and watched it loads of times and it still takes my breath away. Freddie is truly the GOAT and is now truly the legend he always wanted to be. Queen as a band are a genre all of their own, everything they put out is unique and different.

"Bohemian" comes from what used to be an actual country in what is now the Cezch Republic, Bohemia. Some background: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bohemia Growing up outside of Chicago we knew a lot of people whose heritage included this region; the nickname for these people was "bohunks", which was not necessarily intended to be insulting but was not used in polite conversation, similar to "Polocks" for Polish people. The common usage for "Bohemian" as it is used now seems to stem from these people whose country no longer exists; perhaps "free flowing" is from "not having a country of origin anymore"--just a guess on my part.

@tombanaski3251. in 20th century England, Bohemian was used as a description as I've said, later they became known as 'beatniks', like the poet Serge Ginsberg. Thanks for the additional info.

Michael Jackson used to go watch their concerts, he was a fan before he became friends with Freddie Mercury. They tried to encore together, but their schedules stood in the way. Freddie is definitely the best and most unique vocalist ever. It’s not their biggest song. It was, but this was 1975, and they were a band from 1970-1991, when Freddie passed. They had over 200 songs in their catalog, all great. It’s MY favorite song, but there are so many great songs, I can hardly choose. Something for every mood, that’s for sure. Their whole Innuendo album is awesome. Thank god you were kidding with that pronunciation at the beginning. 😆

@@sandraaitken7965 Yes, I heard about that too. Still, they had recordings IG his vocals to several songs, and Queen procured the vocals for this song after Michael’s death. It was too much trouble, all the red tape and hoopla, to get the other songs’ vocals too. Freddie sang it alone on his solo album, but it’s with Michaelon the Queen Forever album. Thank you!!

Scientists have studied Freddie's voice and came to the conclusion that he had a remarkable range and also used parts of his vocal cords that no other singer ever has. Freddie was indeed a 1 of a kind Artist. Please don't miss the "Live Aid" performance; there were 72 Thousand people in Wembley Stadium and at the same time the concert was broadcast live, via satellite to the whole world, over 1.5 Billion people were watching. All 4 members of the group have written best selling songs, and today, in 2025 Queen is still performing & recording, sadly without Freddie.

@TheBarkinFrog 14 күн бұрын
Okay, no, he did not use "parts of his vocal chords that no other singer ever has." He did activate the false vocal folds without being taught how to do it. They created the "growl" in his voice. His vocal cords vibrated faster than normal, too. He also utilized several vocal techniques normally only used by professionally trained singer, although he had no formal training.

Freddie called this a mock opera. It really is in 3 acts. The crime, then the trial and finally the anger and the remorse. Just as a fun fact, Freddie’s possessions recently sold at auction. The snake bracelet he is wearing in this sold for £800,000 pounds. His costume also sold. The handwritten lyrics for Bohemian Rhapsody sold for £1.3 million pounds.

I saw them live in 1978 and they were on a tall stage and the speakers that were on the ground below them were so tall and that guitarist jumped from speaker to speaker with that wire and did not trip himself. Truly amazing. Also, when they went into the opera part, the stage went black and they disappeared, changed clothes and reappeared for the final rock part. You could hear the opera part all around the place while they were doing that

Fun facts about Queen: Every member has a college degree. One even having a PhD in Astrophysics. Another fact is that each member of the band has written a hit single. So they aren’t all written by Freddie Mercury. Last fact is that they only released their other big hit “Another One Bites The Dust” because Michael Jackson suggested it. Absolutely love Queen. Back in the 70's the only way to get a hit record was having it played on the radio. All radio stations demanded that songs be under 4 minutes long, mainly so they could get more ad's in. Bohemian Rhapsody is 5 minutes 55 seconds long so most radio stations ignored it, until John Peel played it, against management instructions. Well, the rest is history, as they say!

Queen was exceptional in so many ways. I'm sure someone has mentioned by now Adam Lambert was hired by Brian May to tour with the band so I'll move on to this. Before the Rock Opera Bohemian Rhapsody there was another band in the US that did the original Rock Opera by Don Maclean (Bye bye Miss) American Pie in 1971. It's about the day the plane with Boddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper all died in a plane crash bringing an entire generation together to grieve the loss of innocence. It's also Iconic.

Didn't the Who's 'Tommy' come out before either of these? (I just checked: May 1969!) I'm not sure I'd personally class American Pie as rock opera either. Great song, but it doesn't really remind me of opera.

The a cappella intro is just Freddie multitracking all harmonies. Queen were told the song didn't have a chance for radio play unless it was edited. They gave a reel-to-reel to friend and radio personality, Kenny Everett, who played it on his show 14 times over a two-day weekend. Fans wanted to buy it. The same weekend the programming director for RKO in the US heard it, obtained a tape and played it for US audiences who had the same reaction as British fans. This forced Elektra (Queen's label) to release the song, unedited. Cheers!

Queen did a number of these epic prog rock tracks - March of the Black Queen, Prophet’s Song, Liar etc. Bo Rap was their last until Innuendo in 1991. They got better at hiding the complexity of their songwriting. Chuffed to see you give a shout out to Deacon. He adds so much to the feel especially in the first part and the little riffs from the last part of the rock section to the end. Freddie and Deacon has a special synergy together - like in Millionaire’s Waltz.

Excellent reaction Twins! First time on this channel! Bohemian pronounced as (bow·hee·mee·uhn) defined as a socially unconventional person, especially one who is involved in the arts. and Rhapsody pronounced as (rap·suh·dee) defined in terms of music as a free instrumental composition in one extended movement, typically one that is emotional or exuberant in character. This song came out in 1975, it is three unfinished songs meshed together, written by lead vocals Freddie Mercury and with the help from the rest of the band John Deacon, Bass guitar, Brian May, Lead Guitar and vocals and drummer and vocals Roger Taylor they all created this amazing masterpiece. Queen began their early days in 1970 and yes, this song IS playlist worthy! Freddie Mercury, John Deacon, Brian May, Roger Taylor ARE Queen, they are brilliantly educated, multitalented with more than one instrument and each and every member of Queen has written number on hits for their band. Other "Playlist Worthy" songs by Queen are Radio- Ga Ga, there's a funny cute background story involving Roger's toddler son of how that title came to be, that song is another masterpiece, Hammer to Fall, Crazy Little Thing called Love, that song is Freddie's tribute to Elvis Presley in 1979, and then the song We will Rock You, and We Are the Champions. You may have heard of a couple of them before, I could not say about the others I listed, but these are good for a start. The songs I listed above are performed in the 1985 "Live Aid" benefit concert, participating bands and artists had 20 minutes to perform their hits and wow the audience at Wembly Stadium in London and at J.F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, simultaneously, and to viewers watching it on television in other countries to help raise funds for the famine relief in Ethiopia, Africa that year. So just know the songs you see played by Queen are a bit abbreviated because they only have 20 minutes, I remember watching that benefit concert and by the time Queen took the stage, well, they stole the show that day! One day you two will see it for yourselves! Based on other videos Queen's concerts they have had colorful lighting, some pyrotechnics, sometimes the wore color coordinated costumes, but not for Live Aid, there was no time for all of that, they had 20 minutes. Queen's song Somebody to Love is another masterpiece of theirs, brilliantly put together too. Freddie's inspiration for this song comes from one of his favorite singers Aretha Franklin who has also contributed to the music industry with her soulful and gospel music, Somebody to Love is a soulful, gospel-inspired song that showcases the band's vocal artistry and creativity, I find this song has relatable content anyone can resonate with. May I suggest you go to the Queen Official KZbin channel first to check out the Studio version first then, that video is combined with Queen members in the studio recording the song and some clips from a concert where they also performed the song, THEN, TREAT YOURSELVES to be amazed at Queen's Live version performed at Montreal, Canada in 1981, they go all out, they do not disappoint when it comes to live performances on stage! Doing so will make you appreciate the hard work and talent they put into their work musically both in the studio and on stage. I enjoyed this reaction Twins! I am now a new subscriber to your channel. Keep up the good work! Peace. ☮

Queen were to rock/pop music what Mozart and Beethoven were to classical. They were by every measure of the word Geniuses. Virtuoso Musicians who crafted pop rock music in Movements like the classical greats. Freddie Mercury was a One of a Kind vocal talent , with an almost uncanny supernatural control of the audience . His vocals so unique that no one really wanted to try to cover a Queen song because the complexity and synchronicity required to pull off a Queen song live was out of the wheel house of most bands of that era. . There never will and has not since been a band to rival what they did , and what they meant to the world of music. By the Way Michael Jackson was a Huge fan of Queen , and attended many of their live shows. He and Freddie became Friends , and they recorded a few songs together which they never released on vinyl. One of Freddie's and Michael's songs can be found on You tube . It is a tune that was unfinished , but later put together as a studio cut called : " There Must Be More To Life Than This" . go check it out .

Bo he me an is the pronunciation. Welcome to the Queen rabbit hole. Let yourself slide down into their massive catalogue. You won't regret it. It's a wonderful magnificent journey! You'd probably enjoy doing a little research on the "red special", Brian May's guitar. He and his father made it from scratch when Brian was about 16-17 from stuff around the house. It has unique qualities and Brian enhances the sound of his guitar by using a 6pence British coin as his pick for a richer sound. Fun fact...Brian has a Phd in astrophysics, he has been knighted by the British throne, has a reported IQ of 180, is an animal and nature activist who owns May's Wood where he provides a safe healthy environment for wildlife. He is a master musician who combines his love of music and his love of the universe to create amazing lyrics and music. Queen's band members are kind of a miraculous group of 4 extremely skilled and talented musicians whose chemistry cemented them into musical history. I'm guessing any research you do into Queen will help you understand their skill and talent. And their music is amazing. Enjoy the ride. The Queen rabbit hole will keep you busy for a long long time and you will have many followers if you continue to give us what we love....QUEEN!!!!!

Top 5 male vocals for me? Elvis, Freddie Mercury, Steve Perry (Journey), Bobby Hatfield (Righteous Brothers) and Tom Jones.😊 Freddie always takes #1 for best front man for a band hands down.

Loved your reaction ….. I think that you would really like more Queen music. They have almost 300 recorded songs including solo albums, you would be surprised at how many iconic songs that you will recognize but you didn’t know that it was by Queen. Freddie Mercury is still considered to be one of the best, if not the best male singers of all time. Their live performances are always better than the studio versions. Please react to “Somebody to Love “ live In Montreal1981 to start out with ……then so-so many more. Thank you 😊

Bohemian means; A person with artistic or literary interests who disregards conventional standards of behavior...or A native of Bohemia or The language of the Czechs (the ancient inhabitants of Bohemia), the richest and most developed of the dialects of the Slavic family.

Freddie Mercury the legend himself wrote Bohemian Rhapsody is 3 songs put together. What did that song mean to you as it means different things to different people. Please check out Somebody to Love Live HD at Montreal that's my favorite Queen song who Freddy said it might even be a better song that he wrote then Bohemian Rhapsody. Let us know what you think. Brian May the guitarist is also an astrophysicist he's even worked at NASA the guitar nicknames( the red special) was made by him and his dad when he was starting out he could not afford a fender or Gibson so they made that one it has its own unique sound. They all have wrote number one hits they met in college in West London so talented it's not fair❤ love your reactionX 🇬🇧

Maybe it could be that there r three songs in one, combinde to a compostionen, that is very complex. And it's funny cause Freddie fought hard for to release this as the first song on the album. Genius to me. Ok, first hearing u might turn ur radio to another channel, but if u analyse this, it a masterpiece of music. Sometimes people forget to take a second "look" (or hearing). Thanks for reacting!
