One of the most difficult challenges yet. Can we beat the game with a Pokemon that NEVER learns a single attacking move from levelling up? Will we even get by Brock?

I think rival 6 uses potions because of WHERE he is. Because his location is near the beginning of the game, the game gives him items appropriate to that location as opposed to his level or your progress.

@Jack Wells Tht isn't a glitch, though, just an oversight. The fight was designed by one of the developers, giving him normal potions was a conscious decision, so it's a flaw in game design, not programming

If I remember correctly, they just copy-pasted an earlier rival AI, changed the pokes, but forgot to change the items. So he uses the items determined for an earlier battle, at the same place as that earlier battle.

+[Miguel Flagstaff] Honestly, comments like yours are what makes me wish at times we lived under a totalitarian regime which aggressively censors any unwanted speech. You see, you are *actively endangering the LIVES of PEOPLE I LOVE* by spreading these lies to people as idiotic as you who might be living nearby loved ones I have in the United States, and maybe even to loved ones closer to my home in Europe as well. You are also *endangering the lives* of every single person who has loved ones who are near people who might take your comments to heart. Which would be..... any person who has loved ones in nations which aren't heavily information-controlled. Like I said, a Totalitarian State is beginning to sound *_real_* good right now..... The "horrific tyranny" you speak of is a complete myth, on account of you still being able to post that comment. But, really, at this time said tyranny would save more lives than it would take. So while logically and rationally I would (of course) agree that such it would indeed be horrific, at least in the long term, in the short term such tyranny *feels* mightily attractive.
@DancingTherapist4 жыл бұрын
I'm gonna be the 'hum, actually" guy! In Gen 1, it actually was possible for an attack to be rounded down to 0 if you deal damage with an attack that deals so little damage the game reduces it to 0. The game notes it as a 'miss', and so it might just look like you get the 256 glitch over and over. The easiest way that i know how to see it is to get a low level Nidoran or Weedle with Poison Sting and try to hit Geodude with a few Defense Curls on it.

From the start I've believed that this is the hardest possible run ("possible" being the key word, as I straight-up don't think Weedle can beat Agatha even at level 100 with full PP Ups because Poison Sting is so bad that you'd run out of PP before getting through the battle and Struggle can't hit three of her mons). That teleport struggle loop was always going to be the worst possible way to get through the game.

Peter Møller You can waste your splashes while fighting against those wild Metapods only using Harden so it is easier to waste splash then teleport
@MrLigthsaber4 жыл бұрын
@@cmcplayer00 Its gonna run out of harden after 30 uses, and you have to splash for 40. So it's gonna start hitting you with struggle. There is also the chance of running into Weedles that won't let you run away. And splash has 40 PP, while teleport has 20 PP.

At the end you should just put two spreadsheets up, one sorted by level and one sorted by time.

25:33 I believe the rival is using potions because developers copy pasted the rival code from the beginning of the game (the rival had then a potion). And then forgot to update the last rival code with hyper potions. Congratulations on this run by the way, I tried it myself a week ago but cheated before Brock as it was obviously so time consuming. My Abra was level 64 after defeating the Elite Four!

You're a huge inspiration to me. Because of your videos, I've begun streaming Single Pokemon Runs using your rules on Twitch. Keep up the amazing work! As for a recommendation, do Cubone next. That was the first one I did (chosen by random number generation). I'd like to see the master attempt that run.

DITTO PLEEEEASE! Also, you should do them in thematic batches: Team Rocket: Meowth, Ekans and Koffing Brock: Onix, Geodude, Zubat, Vulpix Misty: Staryu, Goldeen, Horsea, Psyduck Eevee as the final starter And so on

I think you missed at 34:35 that the Gyarados's Special dropped. Going for the Recover was the clear best play.
@Jrose114 жыл бұрын
Yep missed it twice, both in the run, and while editting. Don't usually make those mistakes. It is a 33% chance of happening so not crazy lucky, but lucky nonetheless

Now you get to coast with Geodude and Machop, to complete the trade evolution quartet.

Brock's Journal Entry: *_Day 1: I have finally failed to contain the psycho abra user known as "Jrose". After 20 rematches with him, My pokemon have lost all sense of strength and worth. Let's just hope all goes well..._* *_Day 2: I woke up to receive news that the serial killer Abra managed to get a hold of TM01 Mega Punch, he is causing chaos around the streets of Cerulean, one-shotting any pokemon who dares step in its path._* *_Day 5: SEND HELP IMMEDIATLY!! POKEMON ARE RAPIDLY BEING SLAUGHTERED IN EVERY CITY!_* *_Day 10: The End of the World is near, Abra has killed nearly every trainer using its psychic powers, I am currently residing in a bunker I made underground, let's hope I can stay hidden for now._*

Very entertaining series, for someone who grew up with these games. Thought: Does the penultimate rival perhaps still use potions because he is triggered in the same spot as rival 1.5? Did the game maybe forget to level up his potions alongside his party? This is all very educational from a coding perspective as well, so thank you for that.
