My ex reached out after almost 3 months of no contact, not taking the breadcrumbs, and not carrying the conversations when he’d make excuses to reach out during that time. He eventually cracked and said he missed me and we met up and things went great. He wants another meeting but here’s the kicker: I do not want him anymore. I must have scanned the internet a million times searching for articles to give me hope, watched every video, etc. and it’s crazy how now that he’s back, I realized how much better I’m doing. He has done 0 work on himself and I have improved SO much. I really think he only wanted to get back in touch because he saw me starting to move on. S**t man 8 months for me. Most days I'm good. Other days I catch myself blaming myself for the breakdown of our relationship, and I also think about all the words that went unsaid on my part. At first I was really upset and didn’t want her to go but now I’m glad this all happened because if we are going to be together again long term there was a lot I needed to learn about her fearful avoidant attachment style. I was secure and she was making me more anxious because her hot and cold actions. I think a lot of it was her childhood traumas being triggered and not necessarily all things I did so I am hopeful with time she will realize that and want to work on things.

Good for you, my situation is the same. FA ex, she broke up with me 9 months ago over a small mistake. @@brandonohara4122 we never officially broke up. He never asked for a break up. He had a very controlling behavior. He would control my phone and if any of my guy friends (from school, childhood friends ) writes me to know how i was doing , he would assume there is more to it. He wanted me to stop contact with every guy friends, i couldn’t with everyone because they were my friends. My ex would give me silence treatment for months, happened very often. It affected me psychologically . We were living together , he asked for help financially to buy a car etc , which he never returned. I tried to communicate and solve the problem until the end. I realized when I tried to have a talk , communicate , solve the issue , like passive forms of begging and pleading, which made his decision even stronger. After 4 years of relationship,I realized how I have been dragging myself through Gutter. I decided to leave one day, when i realized he never loved me. He just wanted the Control. I might have stayed if he asked me to but he didn’t. Then I realized that he was just waiting for me to leave. It was very tough journey for me. I went through depression for months,went to therapy for months after break up. I had very low self esteem, felt like I got no dignity and self respect for long time ( still working on it). But Now I am feeling better. I am proud of myself. Yeah I might have begged and pleaded but I lay all my cards on the table and revealed my vulnerability. It is the bravest thing anyone can do. I would do it again towards the people who are important to me. But I also learned how naive i was and got my lesson. He reached out after a year, i felt no obligation to reply him. At first I was thinking what should I reply, but then realized deep down I don’t want to . Not after all that manipulation, psychological violence and wounds.

Coach Lee is the goat. My ex was in a rebound relationship the same night we broke up. He moved in with her the same night so obviously he was cheating. No contact works. I literally changed my ex’s mind about being with me. After 7 months he came back home to me and the kids and it’s been amazing. If they are in a rebound relationship you have a better chance of getting them back. A man has to see you as family (apart of him) in order for this to work.

Last summer like july 2022 my ex broke up with me and I was depressed about it for like 3 months. It’s rlly the worst feeling ever. I did no contact as soon as we broke up. But my problem was at first I distanced myself from my friends and even my family and spent a lot of time by myself and got a really bad alcohol addiction. Around October I got over her and wasn’t sad anymore and I didn’t miss her. I was focusing on myself and hitting the gym every day and quit drinking. When you break up it’s important for you to not be by yourself too much and spend time with people that you laugh with and make you happy. Anyway around Christmas time 2022 she started absolutely obsessing with me again like way more than the first time even. At first I wasn’t really interested but then I started talking to her and I felt like she was way better towards me and she changed a lot. I started dating her again February 3rd and our relationship is so much better than last time. I really feel happy with her now. But at the same time I’m still focusing on myself more than anything. I know it works but I was the dumpee in December and went into immediate NC after over a year of a good to great relationship. My only misstep was not telling her that I did not want the break up, I responded to her "you're right we're not progressing as much as we should be". I've been in no contact for a month now, and my ex has reached out. Once was a text message asking for the wifi password that is literally in the back of the router. And another to have the same conversation of explaining the break up. I've been with her 13 1/2 years, and this is the 3erd time I've been thru this with her, but I was always the one to reach out to fix their mess. This is the first video I’ve seen where you mention long distance. I vividly remember when it started to seem like the effort he had to put in to see me wasn’t worth it as his communication became less and less frequent, and my anxiety began while we were still dating, even planning an engagement and wedding. This was our second time back together. I have him another chance cause I missed him and wanted to be with him so badly. Dear Coach Lee, and everyone reading this. A month ago I made the biggest mistake of letting the loml go, it's a mistake I regret but forced me into changing myself for the better. We both had our problems and I've learned to acknowledge mine, but not to hang in the past and move forward. I don’t know why she didn’t just delete all of them if she is moving on. So I have a ridiculous scenario . We broke up , about 2 months ago. She lost attraction and fell out of love . Same Old. So the way to get the woman of my dreams back is no contact etc etc, I know this. But , we have a son together, he’s 2 , we have a business together, and she wants to spend time with me , so far as that she chose to go with me yesterday for Mother’s Day instead of her own family. She also doesn’t want to publicly announce that we broke up , “because the family and friends may see us as one on off again when we get back together” So, at first when we broke up we wanted to keep our son in mind and not break his routines so we stayed in the same house together, but it soon turned into a shitshow with massive fights and she moved to her parents. I spent about a week in very limited contact (son and work) and went as far as telling her I don’t want her reaching out , I need some space etc etc (remember, SHE broke up with me - I didn’t see it coming) but I wanted it to be either over for good , or at least find myself in the process and not see her and get confused (as she would still kiss me hello etc) side note - we haven’t slept together since the break up. Now last week has been mental , we spent 4 nights together, no fighting , spent mothers day together (just the three of us) and we have been sharing a bed at night - no sex! But here’s the thing , I don’t know how to handle this situation , she confirmed this morning she is moving back in. I haven’t brought up any relationship related topics or other guys or anything for at least 2 weeks . So I don’t actually know where she stands and don’t think I should be bringing it up as she spooks quickly. But I’m also slowly moving on. I’ve worked so hard on myself in the past few weeks that I’ve learned that I don’t need her in my life , as much as I honestly love her with all my heart and care for her in words I can’t describe. But I also know she doesn’t see me in the light that I see her , which was probably the nail in the coffin for me. So , I want her back , on my terms. But I feel very little options in re attraction? I see her ALL the time . When we initially broke up she gave me the “I don’t want to lose you in my life” speech which I didn’t believe , but she truly is making an effort to see me etc, son and work aside. So , my question , how the f do I re attract ? How do I create mystery and doubt ? Or, am I overthinking the whole scenario and we are actually together without being together - a break as such? I’d like to think this but she made it so clear that we aren’t together. I’m mindblown. And a little bit lost!

8 weeks of NC and yesterday I found out that my ex unfollowed me sometime between eastern and now. Last time we saw (2 weeks after the breakup for closure) she tried to ask for a friendship which I politely declined (since then I startet NC) I made good progress until now, but the fact that she moved that one step away crushes me, bc there is still sth in me that wants her back. I will still try to focus on myself, do sports, work on myself and my goals and heal. But it feels like hell sometimes, especially in times like that.

So I screwed up and broke no contact. Just as a side note she is undiagnosed unmedicated bipolar and on a manic phase and I think is hanging out with the guy that I knew she had a crush on. The day after breaking no contact I told her I needed to get the pictures off my phone onto a card and I asked if she wanted me to send them to her first. Two weeks no contact . We broke up three weeks ago and the first two weeks we hung out on and off as I tried to convince her to get back. After the first time we hung out I gave her space and she contacted me the next day saying how much she loves me and wishes we were together and that you don’t know what you have till you lost it but that she hopes either her or the next girl treats me right and she needs to be by herself to grow. So of course we hung out two more times after this being the same “closure” hangout where we both cried . After the third time she was hot and cold and I decided I needed to actually give her space and let her have this break up. I kissed her bye and we both cried. Hey coach Lee, First of all thanks for helping me in a difficult period in my life. Your videos made me learn so much about my relationship and myself. I feel that I'am slowly becoming a better person by using NC. I still use my ex as a motivation to improve myself, but slowly it feels like I could live without her if necessary. But, she contacted me a day ago after a month of no contact. However, she did not ask how I am doing, she asked if I could give her some money back, because she paid more in the relationship. I think this is very childish of her, normally she wouldn't care about such things and also the debt i owe her is quite small. Could it be that she is getting nervous because I haven't contacted her for a month or is this debt excuse never used to provoke a negative response out of me? I feel like she is trying to make me angry with her for asking for money to reassure that I still have feelings for her. Is this a technique that is often used by the dumper or is she completely over me? Thanks for an answer in advance.

On the surface it sounds like shes mad you went no contact and she needed a reason to get a hold of you but didn't want it to sound like she was doing it for that reason so shes using it as an excuse to make contact. If I were you I would continue to ignore her in no contact. For her, it not about the money, its about controlling the situation. You have control and it sounds like shes trying to take it from you. That of course is assuming she isnt broke at the moment and feels entitled so some money from you.

It's difficult to say for sure, but if I were you, I'd pay her immediately without any note or commentary. Just send her a check or pay her digitally asap. It's the strong thing to do. Be done with it and don't let her think you are trying to use it as an opportunity to speak with her or to try to get her back.
