Nobody asked for this kind of mode at all, most were expecting a Mario kart kind of experience which fits the goofy nature of fortnite much more then what they actually gave us.

It basically is I’m a festival main player but I found out they threw some free jam tracks but the only way to unlock it is not through festival it’s to play rocket racing and do the weekly challenges and do 8 challenges in rocket racing to get festival jam tracks which is wild to me I would understand stand me having to do BR but on RR is basically forcing you to play that mode just to keep it relevant

I'll always enjoy Rocket Racing as I'm just a fan of cars and racing games in general. Though the main reason I've been grinding it recently is to play ranked for the Felina skin, since it's the only ranked game mode I don't completely suck at 😅

If they just stopped making big updates for one of their big modes they're not afraid to do it for the other ones if they don't listen to the players The whole reason for this even happening is due to not having any communication, we practically had to guess when ranks reset based on updates and RR pack leave times They even had another update on the road map, so 100% means they scrapped it, and also they had about 3 more on the way before all this. It just kinda makes no sense why there's no theming which gave it some structure, and they INSISTED that creator made maps would be plenty, but they fucking suck they're all the same thing The high player count is from quests, wheels are pretty good and people are grinding for the ranked rewards, we still have that gold drift trail since the last update, and to show support for the mode

tbh the only reason i think more ppl started playing recently is bc the free skin that shows ranks bc RR is the quickest to rank up in. 3min race vs 30 to 50 min BR match in higher ranks when going up a couple percent those 3 min races are nothing compared to BR.

I know this is your personal opinon, and I believe not dropping any new tracks after 3 months is crazy work, buti just want to clarify that the mode will still get Updated and will still be able to get more tracks. From the way i interpret it this season is a filler season so they can get their bearings without strict deadlines, so they leave it ambiguously open.

Such missed potential, I've been grinding RR since it released and I haven't had that much fun with a racing game in years other than Mario Kart, so to see this mode just get thrown away because it's not as profitable as the other two new modes is heartbreaking, hopefully this means that they're working on revamping the mode, but I highly doubt it, I guess I'll still play it for a bit, but I don't think I'll grind to unreal this time around

It’s sad to see it happen. I was just starting to get into Rocket Racing just before the Metallica update ended because I had missed out on cosmetics and I wanted to start keeping up with them. I also thought it was a fun racing game on its own, nice fast races. Sad to see the themes gone because that could’ve been what gave Rocket Racing its charm. I’ll still play it for the cosmetics but it won’t be as fun as before.

It makes me sad. I was never a fan of Lego, Festival bored me after the second season, but I started paying attention to RR during Inferno Island and liked the mode because it was such a nice change of pace from the mess that BR was during that time. I knew the game wasn't perfect or anything more than just a meat and potatoes arcade racing game, but it was fun in decent doses and it definitely had more potential out of the three modes. The game released off in the worst way possible, people wrote it off and seems like epic gave up on it immediately and didn't bother to improve it besides what they had planned for the short term. I'm gonna go on a tangent here, but it really feels like this last year Epic got too ambitious with what they wanted to do, but they threw a bunch of things into the game with the purpose of experimenting. Things that were received positively will be kept and those that didn't stick will be thrown away. They gave up on weapon mods after season 2, and now they are giving up on rocket racing arguably a little after inferno island.

Honestly, I could see a future for this mode if they leaned into Fortnite's whacky side and took inspiration from Mario Kart or Sonic and SEGA Allstars Racing. They could have a lot of items you could use. I've noticed that sometimes t posing characters will appear on vehicles before a race stars for some reason, so maybe they are or were working on a taunt mechanic where you could dance on the car? Another idea is maybe have all characters in your locker have one of five or so special racing abilities appointed to them and they can help in races. The only thing with that is they should model one character for each ability and have those always be available and free so everyone can access each ability. The two biggest issues though are how buggy the mode is and how lame and grindy the quests to unlock cosmetics are. I get that I'm playing on worse hardware by playing on the Switch, but somehow making it manageable for that hardware is important. I've had the game crash several times and the audio is so glitchy and cuts out that I have to play with the audio on mute. There has also been times where I will spawn underneath the road before the race starts, putting me at a big disadvantage. The other problem is the quests being boring, repetitive, and long. I love the characters we got in bundles with rocket racing cars, but the quests take forever just to unlock the alternate style for the characters and the only quest is "drive distance". It's such a braindead activity of a quest and the distance drags on forever to get.

This game ever since I saw the player drop I knew wasn't going to be able to recover unless it got the right updates. And I had a few good ideas on my hands. Hell I even was thinking of a free roam mode on three different maps to test your skills with other players who are in the same free roam as you. The only problem is they added time trials and then a casual mode which again does entice casuals to play it. But again, you weren't earning anything from it. Except for XP and some cool car vanity. There's no real intention to play it and again the game was just shockingly made, especially at launch I played this game on mobile at launch and the old controls were shockingly bad. But they did fix this with updates though, but it won't make up that they didn't have this ready along with countless other things like bugs and glitches when they launched the game now don't get me wrong Lego fortnite and also fortnite festival also had the same struggles but they were able to with updates. Get back their player base and I mean Lego fortnite literally has its own sub community dedicated to that specific game mode and it's almost the same story for fortnite festival. It's small but it's still a community unfortunately, it seems that rocket racing never found what it truly was meant to be and turn never regained to player base which again led to its death as themed seasons and tracks are no longer a thing

Man. I was excited for this mode to Shine. But since They HAD to remove trading in Rocket League. This mode was doomed to fail from the start. I came over from Rocket League this see all of my cars in UE5 but... without a destined game mode. Rocket League as a whole died. Im still looking for what cars come into the game so i can say i have a busted garage (garage meaning locker but for the cars) but thats basically it.
