Ali Riaz Do u know the meaning of shirk. What Allah has said in the Quran is evidence within itself, the prophet does not speak from himself but from Allah SWT, meaning what the prophet commands the Muslims is what Allah has commanded, hence an authentic Hadith that forbids killing children is on the same level of obligation as jihad that is prescribed in the Quran, they go hand in hand. The only difference is one is recited and part of the miracle known as the Quran and the other is not recited but part of the wisdom (Hikmah) of the Quran, it’s context effectively.

Ali Riaz A Hadith that has been agreed on by all the scholars of Hadith is on par with the Quran, as they both have unbroken isnaads to Allah SWT, that have been preserved, the aHadith that allows us to understand the Salah for example have been protected by Allah SWT and preserved via this mechanism in order to preserved the Quran completely.

Sahih Bukhari is a great work, but there are numerous problems with certain chains and especially certain content that clashes directly with the quran and reason. As long we appreciate this there is no problem and we can benefit from this work. I still find it very unfortunate that dr. Brown hasnt accepted Abu Layths proposal to have a public dialogue about the infalibillity of Bukhari and its transmission through al-Farabri.

Infact Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim themselves rejected numerous hadith they came to conclusion were unautthentic, weak or fabricated. They compiled only those hadith they thought were sound and met their criteria. One must understand the delicate difference between Sunnah and Hadith. Hadith is important but it must be understood in the light of Quran. Allah knows best.

The most dependant book after Quran in islam is Sahih Bhukari , you know why because the chain of narration going to prophet sallahualihiwassalam is very strong . And most of hadiths which are mutawatir which means one haddith mentioned by many sahabas , this type of hadith are taken with out any doubt and its ruling is implemented . The reason sahih bhukari has attained that position is beacuse he has taken hadith from people who are known to trustworthy in partisans deen , those who are intelligent and have good memory of remembering . Even the scholars who have done research on Bhukari have unanimously agreed that imam bhukaris criteria of choosing hadith is amazing . Which gives no 1 position in hadith books and next comes sahih muslim and even its classification is amazing . These 2 books don't have zaeef hadith or weak hadith while the rest have .

As a Sunni, I wish we established the criteria of the Shia Zaidia because their scholars throw out any hadith that contradicts the Holy Quran in the garbage bin. I just can't believe some of our Sunni scholars still think some hadiths abrogate some Ayas! To me that's not possible but plain HARAM! The Holy Quran CANNOT be abrogated by any hadith! The facts are Aicha was born 2 years before BI'THA NOT 2 years before HIJRA which makes her at least 19 years old when she was married to the prophet (pbuh). A hadith MUST not contradict the Holy Quran to be valid as a truly authentic hadith and since marrying a minor is HARAM in Islam and is prohibited in the Holy Quran and since prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is known to all his companions as the wallking-talking Quran therefore it is impossible that he married Aicha when she was a minor therefore making the holiest man ever look like a paedo. You can't believe junk hadiths like Ahadith Maadoa as the true word of the prophet (pbuh) even if presented as authentic hadiths! Example: "the prophet (pbuh) recited the whole Quran in one rakaa" this is none sense because the Holy Quran is 30 Juz that's 60 Hijz / 114 Surah which translate into 18 hrs spent in one rakaa. As for the age of Hazrat Aisha, why don't you question yourself why this criticism only began to be levelled in the late 19th century? Conditions and circumstances were completely different in those times compared to today, the age of marriage in quite a few US states is still as low as early teens/preteens. This is why in Shari'ah we have a concept called 'urf (customs) which means that certain laws can change according to time and place and circumstance. You need to consider these issues from all viewpoints before throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

Any mistakes or flaws in the hadith should be considered significant because they are misrepresentation of the prophet and Allah and used for sharia law. If there is doubt or speculation about even 1 hadith than you shouldn't be able to enforce sharia or rulings from the hadith.

The Quran was compiled over 2-20 years after the prophets death from scraps of leather, tree bark, stone etc. Shouldn't the prophet have known when the last revelation would be and then ask to compile the Quran do he can see it done correctly and authenticate it. Muslims follow a book that was put together by men and Muhammed doesn't know about it either, how can we be sure it isn't corrupted.

Sources show that there was a war after the death of Muhammed that killed 70 scholars that memorised the Quran, so 12 of them including Uthman ibn affan , collected the scraps, bones, stones, leather with the Quran and compiled them into 1 . They also got rid of copies that they believed was in accurate . This was in 632 after the death of the prophet. This inaccuracy and divisiveness is what caused the Sunni/Shia split immediately after the death of Muhammed.

that's not it bro. Yes, we have the quran as the word of god and 100% correct. But sometimes there are ayat that have multiple interpretations. Also, many ayats have asbabun nuzul (the reason of the ayat revealed). So, Hadith is very important because it narates what the prophet says to describe the meaning of the qur'an, and the condition when the ayat have been revealed or the reason why the ayat have been revealed. Thats why scholars usually use hadith to interpret qur'an.

Drei Frein in verse 33:49 of quran it is mentioned that there is no waiting period required before divorce if there was no intercourse. in verse 65:4 it states that the waiting period advisable is 3 months for "those who have not menstrated". now if you read the context, you will understand that this does not refer to prepubescent girls but if you look at Bukhari' s collection in the book of marriage (nikah), the commentary of this verse states that this refers to girls who haven't reached puberty. as a result, many pre-modern and even some recent commentaries will interpret it the same way. I can't explain how many times a verse from the Quran has been distorted in its meaning because of someone using hadiths from this or similar sahih collections. this gives nonmusloms fuel to make inflammatory statements about the prophet and it's easily understandable.

To clarify, the verse is talking about divorce after you have had sexual affairs with your spouse. If you are so certain as to what it means, explain to me what it means when the quran states divorcing those who have not menstruated? As you requested, here is the reference of the hadith along with classical commentaries: Volume 7, Book 62, Number 6: Narrated by Sahl bin Sad "...And for those who have no courses (i.e. they are still immature). (65.4) And the 'Iddat [waiting period] for the girl before puberty is three months". Wahidi's asbab al nuzul (occasions of revelation) "Said Muqatil: “When the verse (Women who are divorced shall wait, keeping themselves apart…), Kallad ibn al-Nu‘man ibn Qays al-Ansari said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is the waiting period of the woman who does not menstruate and the woman who has not menstruated yet? ... He said: ‘Those who are too young [such that they have not started menstruating yet], those who are too old [whose menstruation has stopped] Tafsir Jalalayn: "... their prescribed waiting period shall be three months and also for those who have not yet menstruated because of their young age" Maududi: "Therefore, making mention of the waiting-period for the girls who have not yet menstruated, clearly proves that it is not only permissible to give away the girl in marriage at this age but it is also permissible for the husband to consummate marriage with her. Now, obviously no Muslim has the right to forbid a thing which the Qur'an has held as permissible."

\/ibestr in volume 7 book 62 and hadith no. 6 of bukhori is a different hadith than what you quoted, Can you provide me reference where did you find your quoted hadith narrated by sahl bin sad? Secondly nowhere does not starting menstrual cycle yet means prebuscent or a child. A girl can reach puberty and become physically and mentally matured even before menstruation cycle starts. Plus there are also certain condition where menstruation cycle of a girl may not begin yet even when they reach 15 years old where it will be deem as medical condition. There are other criteria of girl has reach maturity/puberty such as having wet dream, develop mature physical traits such as having pubic hair and develop breast, and all of this can happen before menstruation cycle starts. So above scholars is talking about those type of girls. And this is in line with Quranic implications that a girl can consummated marriage once they reach puberty/maturity, not only when they started menstruating cycle.

Re: Hadith or Ahadith like we call them in Arabic, there are scholars that strongly believe that there are ahaadith in Imam Bukhari's book that are weak and in some cases fabricated one such as Imam Al Jassas who collected 200 hadith from Bukhari that are WEAK. More research was done and experts found that the book of Bukhari has been edited (not as bad as the Bible) 13 times. In other words, the collections are the ahaadith in it are not all from Imam Bukhari. What this means is let us NOT blame Imam Bukhari for the lies that are attributed to him and our prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

The fact he has agreed there are flaws how can we say is the word of prophet. Hadiths books are full of contradiction and contradicts sometimes the Qur'an. Take example of Hadith of breastfeeding a grown up man in sahih bukhari. It contradicts the Quran where God says for believing woman to guard their private parts and yet this hadith tells of breastfeeding a stranger so he come into your house as if it's your son. Ibn Abu Mulaika reported that al-Qasim b. Muhammad b. Abu Bakr had narrated to him that 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Sahla bint Suhail b. 'Amr came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and said: Messenger of Allah, Salim (the freed slave of Abu Hudhaifa) is living with us in our house, and he has attained (puberty) as men attain it and has acquired knowledge (of the sex problems) as men acquire, whereupon he said: Suckle him so that he may become unlawful (in regard to marriage) for you He (Ibn Abu Mulaika) said: I refrained from (narrating this hadith) for a year or so on account of fear. I then met al-Qasim and said to him: You narrated to me a hadith which I did not narrate (to anyone) afterwards. He said: What is that? I informed him, whereupon he said: Narrate it on my authority that 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) had narrated that to me. (Muslim book 8 hadith 3426) This hadith cannot be from prophet when the Quran says in 24:31 for women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts

And why would our mother Aysha (rAa) narrate it to only one individual when we know that it is haram to withhold any knowledge that can benefit the whole community ? I'm sure if this hadith was a sound and authentic one, Aysha (rAa) would have narrated it to more people, or the Prophet (asws) himself would have informed the whole community during the Friday sermon. Besides, a woman suckling a young teenager is not enough a solution to prevent them from having a relationship !

Ive struggled with this topic myself, how can we base our entire religion around hadith because the Quran is vague on some matters, yet we refer to the Quran to ensure a hadith isn’t contradictory? I honestly don’t get this utter nonsense. As a little girl I read the hadith many times, and there were times I felt very uneasy because of how disrespectful they were towards the prophet and the ugly images those hadiths put in my head. There are things I am too embarrassed to write in here because I will only add to that disrespect. People are willing to kill over a hadith and will fight you for questioning it all while pretending the Quran is incomplete without it. I’ve come to the conclusion that because Allah has ensured us the Quran Can’t be corrupted, the enemies of Islam came up with hadith as a loophole to put that corruption in our minds instead.

Secondly, I think the fundamentals of Islam are already set with the 5 pillars of Islam and those were the prophet saw actions that were observed and taught from his time onwards. Everything else that came into writing years after his death should be taken with caution and I’m not saying reject them all. The Quran is the only book that is free from corruption. However, this is not to say the authentic hadiths within bukhari cannot be used to set legislations, rulings etc. Unless you have studied the science of hadiths you are ignorant of this matter & that takes years. In the Quran, Allah says use this book as a guidance for mankind and use your own reason. If we use our own reason, we will see that there are many disgusting things that are printed in the Hadith that don’t make any sense with the Quran or the life of the Prophet. For example, killing apostates when Allah says in the Quran Surah al Kafirun “to you your religion and to me my religion” and gives Christians and Jews the honorary title “Ahl al Kitab or People of the Book”. Hadith also says other disgusting things like the Prophet sleeping with all his 9 wives in one night and having the sexual strength of 30 men. Wtf? We know Prophet Muhammad spent all his nights in solitude and prayer not lust or sex. @@nabilelshukri i appreciate your answer, and part of it is my issue too. if at have hadiths that talk about the prophet urinating or defecating in public, that the prophet was prone to delusions and hallucinations, that he would cut off the hands and legs and insert needles into the eyes of a criminal, and that's the stuff that's classified as sahih after sorting through them rigorously to ascertain their validity then you must understand why I have doubts about hadith as a whole. as far as we know neither the prophet nor his rightly guided caliphs even ruled or used or abided by this prophetic tradition, could it really be so hard to believe that the rituals we've been brought up on might just be based off of something other than what it's meant to be? i don't have the exact answers either, but its very difficult for me to come back and accept hadith after learning all the facts. though you and I can find comfort that the differences between us all will be made clear on the inevitable day.

For example the ritual of hajj and circulating the Kabah is a troubling issue for me because it contradicts what Ibrahim AS stood for, which is why he asked his father what are these idols that y’all doing all these rituals for, but in return we are taught that circulating the Kabah is part of the deen. Bukhari was too late in his endeavour. By his time the community was swarmed with false hadiths. He himself discovered 600,000 narrations and the number selected reduces to approximately 2,602 (when repetitions are removed). As with separating the good seed (wheat or rice) from the chaff by winnowing, some empty husks will be selected also, depending where you draw the line. You will have to source from the Quranists if you want to find the unacceptable hadiths. The ahlil sunnah usually hides them from being exposed.

@@c5quared626 l have no problem with tafsir by nabi (saw) or by khulafa rashidoon or by learned sahaba. My problem is with the multi volume tafaasir produced by subsequent mufassireen. Some even ascribed sinful behavior to anbiya viz nabi dawood as and Muhammad (saw) regarding how they got married to the former wives of their sahaba. In the case of dawood as derived from biblical sources. Moreover I am unaware of tafsir of COMPLETE Qur'an by nabi (saw) or learned sahaba. Such a tafsir will include ayaatul mushabihaat which in my humble understanding will be a violation of ayah 7 of surah 3. I am open for correction.

I believe the Quran is open to analysis, the ayah tells us to accept all and deal with the unspecific, while not leaving the specific. It tells us how to understand the Quran. Why doesn't it tell us how to pray salat? Why didn't the prophet leave us a manual. Why did it have to come to us from random sources who have so many variations of narration? I was reading Malik's Muwatta yesterday and so much if it feels like folklore.. like just 100 years of locals who barely met the prophet and their stories changing. This opens a can of worms because every hadith may be in question, now or in the future. Different Muslim people can accept or reject different hadiths according to different criteria (for example, some of them accept Western scholarship and some of them reject it). Allah wants truthfulness. This is why he gave us the quran. Would the Muslims not be more United if there were no hadith and only quran? Why have we left the quran and starting arguing about other books instead? If the prophet himself never left such books whilst he was alive than they aren't needed. All he left was quran.

Focus only on god. Search only for truth and follow it when you find it. I would suggest reading the quran with fresh eyes and heart. Forget what you already think you know. Quran is the absolute truth from god. It's a message from god himself to you, me and every other person. don't blindly follow others no matter who they are. Our favorite scholars and imams won't be there for us on the day of judgement. They may not even be rightly guided so how can they guide anyone else? Allah tells us only he can guide. study the quran yourself and sincerely ask allah to guide you. I specifically asked allah about hadith because I felt something wasn't right. Not long after I was made aware of those who follow quran alone and nothing else. Allah made it clear to me that hadith were not to be followed. Look at all the sects in islam today. Every single one of those sects is disobeying Allah's command to not break up into sects. They're all wrong and it's only because of hadith, this has happened. The Koran says pray 3 times .also the Koran does not state the number of rakats ..the names of pray..farz..sunnah..nafl..vitar..janaza..etc...how and when to prostrate and what to read at certain times So you either..drop the Hadiths..ir accept them all. They have been here for over 1000 Years..why the problem now..is it because more people are literate and can read and understand the embarrassment that lies within the Islamic scriptures..that has always been there..its time to question Islam..or really conceived the idea to write this gospel that includes Christian and Jews . there is a difference cause those things you mentionned were practiced in the prophet lifetime and continued to be practiced so it had nothing to do with hadith it's not like when the prophet pbuh died people asked wait i don't remember how many prayers they were someone give me hadith ... no . those things kept being practiced. the things that is wrong in these ahadith is it's been written 250-400 years after the prophet died pbuh and it's based on one guy heard from one guy heard from one guy ect ect and you want to turn it to "islam is the problem" cause you believe a man that entered 600 000 hadiths in his 62 years life to be 100% right that simply is impossible.

Bukhari was born in Bukhara Uzbekistan under Persian influence. He wrote his books 250 years later of Prophet (S) death. He was not an eyewitness of any event when Prophet (S) was alive. He has written that his books are based on hearsay which is totally wrong, He heard from A and A heard from B, B heard it from C and so on. Bukhari was an enemy of Islam deen of Quran and tried his best to insult the Prophet (S) He has written the most undesirable stories and Hadees which contradict Quranic commandments.

Let's take a look at following verses: [11:114] You shall observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) at both ends of the day, and during the night. The righteous works wipe out the evil works. This is a reminder for those who would take heed. [17:78] You shall observe the Contact Prayer (salat) when the sun declines from its highest point at noon, as it moves towards sunset. You shall also observe (the recitation of) the Quran at dawn. (Reciting) the Quran at dawn is witnessed. [2:238] “You shall consistently observe the Salat (Contact Prayers), especially the middle prayer, and stand before God in submission.” 50:40] “During the night you shall glorify Him, and after prostrating.” After carefully reading those verses, I arrived at the following conclusion: Quran mentions the following prayer times: At the beginning and at the end of the day(dawn and dusk), early afternoon(as it starts to decline from its highest point), late afternoon (as it moves towards sunset,also mentioned as the middle prayer),and at night. PS: the hadiths are there the prophet is making things easier for us he explains to us what the quran meant

This is how you know Islam is false. The Quran doesn't tell you to pray five times a day, the hadiths do. But the hadiths aren't perfect as they we narrowed down by Bukhari from 700,000 to about 7,000. So the chances to make a mistake are extremely high. This isn't even mentioning that Bukhari collected the hadiths around 200 years after the death of Muhammad.

Theoretically yes you dont need the books. You can still get hadiths by meeting the last person on the isnad like what they used to before the hadits books were written. But today hardly nobody has the capacity to do that thus the books have become an integral part of the religion.

The extremists among us Muslims will insult you if you find ahaadith in Bukhari and Muslim that contradict the Holy Quran or insult our prophet (pbhuh). They think we will abandon our faith with education. For these reasons I prefer to call myself Muslim not Sunni and not Shia. Please note that all the prophets and messengers of Allah had a COVENANT with Allah to be MUSLIMS not Sunnis and not Shia. Just read our Quran and you will see for yourselves. I hope that one day Sunnis and Shia wake up from their political divisions that many exploit and use against the masses. I hope we will do a good job cleaning up our tradition of false ahaadith that were intended to destroy Islam and the image of our beloved prophet. There are flaws in you. Not in Sahih. Ijma being a hujjah, Ummah has agreed that all the marfu musnad ahadith of Sahih Bukhari are rigourously authentic. Not even one marfoo hadith is daif. And no, according to "many" (Sunnis) Quranists aren't Muslims. Basically you can choose what hadith you want to justify a muslim behaviour. The quran itself served Mohammed well, conveniently granting him whatever he desired, usually sexual or murderous. Like marrying his stepson wife, then lo and behold the next day allah dictates to him that it's ok don't feel guilty, there is no such thing as a stepson. Peace and blessings be upon him. Oh and his first wife aisha, he killed her husband and tortured her father and married her the same night, ho hum what an exhausting day it must have been. Lo and behold it's all cool with Allah the next day and no moral error was made. Because she really wanted to marry him.
