A regular job is more demanding and harder as you have set hours, poverty wages, and stressful tasks, however you are working a fixed set of time, you have some benefits, and you get paid based on your performance regardless of how well the company is doing. We're as with streaming you set your own hours, and you most likely are doing games or tasks you enjoy. The problem is you have to not only be good at self marketing, you also have to deal with a constantly changing terms of service that demontizes you anyways just cause it felt like it, and most likely the games you play aren't the ones you enjoy but the ones iPad kids love as they are a large percentage of platorms now, also your "paycheck" are ads and donations. Regular jobs are harder and more stressful then streaming, but that doesn't mean streaming is an easy job.

I think the debate on which are harder jobs comes down to support and environment: Streamers and even KZbinrs can either be a one man army or have a decent sized team to get it all done and they just have to worry about being the face. I do my own editing, make my assets, write/edit scripts, thumbnails (unless I commission one, but that’s on special videos), marketing, voicing and editing audio…so a lot for one person but can be easier with a team. “Real” jobs require more face to face interactions than is required for YTers/Streamers and that can be even more exhausting plus being on your feet all day with only a few breaks, if you’re lucky someone remaindered to cover for you. YTers/Streamers can make their own schedule and be their own bosses but bend to the will and contracts for sponsors they may have and of course the ALGORITHM. I don’t think the question should be if one have it easier than the other but at what stage is it easier as someone grows their online career. Than again, at the end of the day, they’re both jobs with their own unique set of challenges everyone is trying to make it through this capitalistic life of ours.
@BigFroggo6 ай бұрын
There is a surprisingly high amount of people at my old job that got their skin degloved by a conveyor belt. We weren't allowed to take breaks no matter how long the shift turned out to be, and we weren't allowed to have lunch nor talk to each other. If your wondering, the place I worked at was FedEx Ground. One of the managers there literally told everyone that we're expendable to the company. The only people that got breaks were the managers and they were the only ones allowed or even had access to the breakroom.

Eh from experience I’d say regular job harder. Streaming you can pick and choose when you feel like streaming. Which also means it could be inconsistent if you don’t keep up. With regular jobs or part time, depending on where you work, like for me example McDonalds, schedule is very consistent and super flexible. Sure there’s rush hour and all the cons but hey it’s honest work 👍

I think a difficulty with content creation is always finding a way to engage people. Unless you are narcissistic as all hell, I have no idea how you can always find something worth filming or talking about. Then, tailoring the situation to be able to be viewed by a lot of people. I feel like that would drive a lot of people insane.
@cruisinagain16986 ай бұрын
im not a streamer but i see the standpoint that it can make mundane enjoyable hobbies, feel more anxious, cause you're trying to please the people viewing you and that can probably ruin the feeling of playing games normally. you go to work at lets say a weird non existant job as a clothes folder, work 9 hours folding clothes, get home and you see a basket of laundry. you really wanna fold more clothes? it just makes the small things feel more like your depressing job

Honestly the thing I think everyone misses out on is that they look at the biggest streamers that are just watching videos and saying silly things and take that as the baseline. Where as I think the folks who mostly would complain are folks like me: I was programming in the middle of the iRacing 24 hours of Le Mans I was racing in while I was out of the car. Sometimes I do stuff like that while in a VR headset and full body tracking, so it's more like "Day Job + Entertaining" which automatically makes that more difficult if it includes tasks in your day job :/ Like, if you're drawing for a living, and you're streaming it, yeah it CAN be easier because you're not having to deal with the draining loneliness of working alone, and yeah programming WHILE streaming can be easier because crowd assistance is a thing, but there's also the fact that those are moments where it's easier. The entire process is not just easier because (inserts streaming). It'll vary. That's all. I think it depends on how much work you put into it. I put... a ridiculous amount of work into my streams (almost unhealthy and frankly unoptimized, which is my fault. I don't know how to do 3D art that well) I would say that it's about on par with my day job (when I actually start doing it proper. I'm still in training for the new one I got.) I'm just saying it depends. Commentating on random internet drama is 100% easy tho. (Commentating on a broadcasted race seems harder to me)

Harder to rely on as a steady stream of financial income so as to be able to survive in life. I would say that. Never streamed for money but I've had jobs my whole life. Harder in general though? No, not for comparing to a lot of jobs in this world imo Won't detract from the effort any dedicated attempt to make $$ takes, streamers put in the effort to on it's own level
