Taco Bells Mexican pizza is two fried flour tortillas filled with beans and meat topped with salsa, cheese and melted in the steamer. When they first were an option, they included black olives. Additional sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo make it even better.

I worked at taco bell for a few months back in the early 90's when the Mexican pizza was at its peak. Idk if they still use salsa as the "pizza sauce", but it's a layer of beans then meat, used to have a layer of salsa, the top tortilla, salsa, cheese, tomatoes. The tostada is beans, meat, red sauce, lettuce, sour cream and tomatoes (tomato and sour cream are only on the supreme). If anyone works at taco bell now, could you let me know if they still make these items this way? We also had the enchirito (small flour tortilla filled with meat and beans, topped with red sauce, cheese, onion and black olives.

I’m working at Taco Bell right now; they’re still using the salsa as the Pizza Sauce; the only ingredient you missed is sour cream. They then steam it, and then cut into fourths.

My biggest secret with the Mexican Pizza is you can sub the beef with chicken or steak. Totally different ball game! It’s cheaper to do it at the store than the app, my store only charges 50 cents but the app tries to charge you between $1.50 - $2 depending on location.

The pizza reminds me of the taco salad they stopped selling. I get extra bean and lettuce with a side of sour cream. It does come with beef and beans already. My hack to the salad, it’s really good I think. It cost a little more but well worth it. Thank you for sharing. Much ❤

When I was a kid, the Mexican Pizza was one of those things I ate often. More so nowadays I get the bean burritos but as I grew up I never really gave the Mexican Pizza much thought. I didn't even think to ask what happened to it. Glad it's back

I haven't had Taco Bell in years and years. I made the mistake once of ordering a meal not long after my IBS diagnosis. I lived 8 kms away from Taco Bell and that ride home set a speed record 😂 I'm willing to give it another try now that I live in another city just minutes away from home. I had the Cheez-It Crunchwrap the other day. I never would have known there was anything in it if I didn't order it for that reason. I could only barely discern either the texture or flavor or the Cheez-It inside. The Doritos Locos Tacos are a much better, or at least noticeable, co-branded food item.

Thanks for putting this video up! I had no idea the Cheez-It Taco Bell stuff was now nationwide. I was bummed that originally it was only rolled out in a few stores. So my husband and I ended up getting just the tostada (neither of us are fans of the crunchwrap). I'm a big Cheez-It fan, so I was pretty excited. It was pretty good. I'm not a fan of normal tostadas, so I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not, but it ended up being pretty tasty. But unfortunately, like you said, it eventually it started falling apart and I had to use a fork to eat it (and used several napkins). We don't go to Taco Bell that often, but if it's on the menu the next time we go, I'd get it again.

The Mexican Pizza used to have onion on it as well back when I was a kid. Also if you want to try Mnt Dew's Baja Blast you can get it in stores now because it is available for sale due to the contract between Taco Bell and Mnt Dew expiring and Mnt Dew started selling it in stores everywhere. So you can probably find it in you soda section at Walmart.

Emmy is so wholesome and lovely, I rely on her for that true "Itadakimasu" taste test. I don't eat meat, but even if the recipe is bacon wrapped jello-shots of pork rinds, I still watch. Her palette does not lie, and she has her own chickens! I know taco bell is the fast food "man" but their vegan crunchwrap with black beans, lots of lettuce, is actually really good. I love a cool, crisp crunch with bean and tortilla. Omg , missing out on the baja blast is a crime! baja blast is the nectar of the corpo gods!

I was delighted to see the Mexican pizza was back and happily ordered one. it tasted pretty bad due to the oil tasting a bit rancid to me. but, these days I find canola oil to always taste rancid--I don't know what's happened to my taster. so it could just be me.

Love your videos! Been a a fan for years! I love doing reviews too but setting up production and the time inbetween takes is just like acting. It’s a very “hurry up and wait” kind of vibe. Most of the time, we end up eating soggy and cold food on camera. Sadly, when reviewing things like pizza or fried chicken, the transport or holding of food in a box or foil STEAMS the product from its own heat and you lose all of the intended and advertised texture. The same is true for your Crunch Wrap and your Mexican Pizza. Those items are meant to be enjoyed immediately to retain their crunch. If you intend to try the items advertised as “crunchy”, there is no way around the fact that you need to eat it there at the restaurant and enjoy it as soon as it is served to you, or pull over in your car and enjoy it immediately as the first thing you bite into. The Mexican Pizza is ONLY soggy in the middle because it sat there for a while while you parked, set up to film and ate the other items. 😅 7:07 “It’s not very crunchy. That’s for sure.” That’s what prompted me to write all of this lol

TacoBell's beef glop has gotten saltier in the last few years. I think they're skimping on quality beef so they just add more salt as a filler. It would taste better (and be healthier) with 30-50% reduction in salt.

You can get basically anything on the taco bell menu made vegetarian (I suppose with some obvious limitations). All you have to do is request "bean substitute" and they give you the option of refried beans or black beans. You can also find Baja Blast in plastic bottles in some stores now, I saw it at my local pharmacy. The cheez-it crunch wrap certainly looks a little more reasonable as a food item, less messy, I'm gonna go give it a try.

Yea, all of our local gas stations where I live have Baja Blast in a bottle, tastes better I think cause it’s not watered down or tastes like chlorinated water. We also have it available in fountain drinks at some of the locations.

I had the crunch wrap today, it was pretty good. Didn’t really taste much cheezit. But it was flaky. Granted I’ve never had a regular crunch wrap to compare it too. My kids also got a giant cheezit by its self. They loved it, it was the size of their faces 😂

Sometimes it can be hit or miss there. I really enjoyed the Cheezit crunch wrap but I’ve only had it once. Btw Baja Blast zero is pretty good. I usually get it since I don’t want to drink a ton of calories when I’m eating fast food.

Tried the cheez-it crunch wrap. Mine became soggy quick as per usual from waiting to eat it. It's pretty good, like a regular one. I prefer the wraps, burritos (grilled especially), and Mexican pizza. Belle Grande nachos are good to.

I tried these both last night, because I’m a huge cheez-it’s fan and always have them on stock, especially the white cheddar. However, I agree it was way too salty and masked all the other flavors. I prefer the regular Crunchwrap. Now I did switch the beef for the cantina chicken, because I don’t like their beef.

I tried the Cheez It Crunch Wrap today and really liked it. I couldn’t taste the cheez it over the flavors of all the other ingredients, but the texture it added was fun. Thicker and flakier than the normal tostada shell. Edit: The Mexican Pizza shells are a flour/corn hybrid.
