Damn, that’s just about as hard as building the boat...boat yoga plus figuring it all out and mounting the things, sheesh. I laughed so hard when you were talking about naughty hands messing with your helm wires, like stuffing a bag in there! It’s looking damn amazing though!!!

Lights, please buy led strip lights 4-5 feet long and use them in every workspace. They are super light and give brilliant shadow free illumination. You could fit them to any surface . Fiddling around with tiny lamps is just crazy. Robin

Hello Ross! It also may be a good idea to consider using studs and mounting plates for attaching things like pumps and electrical components. You can mount them to the plate externally and then attach the plate to the studs in the boat wall with just nuts and washers etc. Helps with cooling and such and this way, If you ever have to replace the part, you can just make a new plate or drill the existing one. You also don't have to try to drill new holes and fasteners in the tight spaces!

Ross, while your putting in your macerator pump you may want to look at a shutoff from the Black water tank to the macerator pump and a shutoff from a line coming from your gray water tank to a wye and then into the macerator pump. That way if you need to flush your macerator pump to work on it you can use the gray water to help clean it out before you dismantle it. Keep up the good work.

One thing I would do is glass in some kind of attachment to the ceiling directly above the engine for a chain hoist to make engine removal and installation easy. Maybe even attachments for a track that can be removed for a trolley and hoist.

It looks like you have the Yanmar 4JH4 family engines. The impeller on them are in an awkward location, hard to hold the cover o-ring in place while putting it back together. I also noticed the bed has a lot of flex in it now that you made the engine access. May want to think about re-enforcing.

Isn't the black water pump going to be blocked in case when it's getting older and sticky stuff remains in there? I mean isn't the vertical position meant to be better for this?

For the hard to drill spots, get yourself a flexible drive then it will be able to bend into those tight spots you cannot get your drill in to.

If it's about crawling over the engine, then you could make mountings left and right of it to allow you to put a board. Then you could get in the back easily, regardless of how hot the engine is.

Ross I'm not sure what they call them but I've seen them on some other channels, it's some kind of head that you put on your drill where you can drill in very tight spaces like in that hole you need to find out what it is and get one lol

Well, I don’t think I ever herd you say it was going to be easy. That being said you’re doing a fantastic job. It’s nice to see the young lad helping you out. I know what that’s like. My company relied on the younger population and the good ones where great, the not so good didn’t last to long. I really miss that the most now that I’m retired however they do tend to pop in every now and then.

for tight angle drills you could use a 3/8 electric wrench, they come in various sizes, I noticed that either some areas are getting smaller on your boat or you are getting bigger, great vlogs by the way, really enjoy the trip. many thanks stay safe and well regards John

@@LifeOnTheHulls I have had a Dufour sailing boat for 10 years now, gravity tank, no electrics, no wiring, no motor, no smell, and silent running, it just sits in a cupboard like a box of dumb Frogs. At sea leave the drain valve open, in port/anchor, close the valve. Once a year I give it a good rinse. Happy family.
