Today I have ordered the same fish & chips with mushy peas with a cup of tea and water. The waitress remembered you. When the plate of food came I thought the portion was quite small. When you held it up I was quite relieved. It looked like a large portion. I have a rare food allergy you see...I'm allergic to small portions.

I think there should be a law that anyone vlogging fish and chips, should have a real time virtual measuring scale overlaid on their video to measure just exactly how big the fish is. I have a team of web designers working on a solution to that right now.

Gio’s used to the best, and while it is still great, the one in Clacton area for both quality and quantity is M&A Fish Bar. They are amazing and we drive approx 6 miles each way to get it

I’m 26 years old and I live about ten mins away from clacton. growing up in clacton whenever I have fish and chips there I tend to go there. You should go to youngs in frinton on sea next. Good work buddy!

We usually go in there when we pop down to Clacton. Nephew wanted to go to clacton for his birthday treat and wanted fish and chips for lunch. Even the kids meals are big we couldn’t eat it all.

For a hard water area that tea looked very decent , when we travel south it's rare we bother with tea as it is usually undrinkable. That fish looked perfect and the peas were spot on ( they shouldn't be pureed and need to be recognisable as a pea) Those chips were probably Maris Piper that do cook slightly paler than others but make the best chips , agreed an extra minute wouldn't have gone a miss. Your score of 9 very fair 👍

If you want a nice breakfast in Clacton pop into Armstrongs! I went there a few years ago with my Dog Dexter and the staff were amazing! Grace was Dexters favourite. The breakfasts are delicious!!

Plate is nice - so often that pattern is in blue. Fresh cooked is best - even then if you take it home in a box it can "sweat" and the chips wilt. Best I have had is me and my daughter used to travel home from Carlisle where she was at Uni and stopped off in Haltwhistle to get chips - OMG the fish and chips were awesome because they were fresh cooked and we ate them straight away - hands down we agree the best we have had - and we live 20 mins away from Whitby and its quality fish and chips. When you said " I feel so lonely" I immediately thought of the song by the Police lol

Tim, the best fish and chip shop in the UK is Krispies in Exmouth Devon - only my opinion but loads would agree. Exmouth is a great seaside town to walk around whilst its still summer if you get the chance. Enjoying your vids

I was at Clacton on 19th July, and ate from the chippy by the entrance by the Pier, it was delicious far better than the ones local to me , especially with cold beers from the bar near by .

The best fish and chips in Clacton is in a place called the "Salior boy" near hutleys caravan park, don't take my word for it try it yourself and see 🙂

I live close to Clacton and Geos is the best chippy in the area by far. I would say usually their chips are a lot more crispy than that. I suspect the post rush visit meant slightly under done chips. You ought to try Pieseas Chippy in Old Harwich nearby. Local caught cod and and especially Skate is better than the posh restaurants can muster!

Wow I haven't been to Clacton in over twenty years, it used to a really grim place with a terrible reputation for crime. It looks pretty nice now, although from what I've heard it's still really rough in places. But the same could be said for basically every town particularly coastal towns. Interesting video.

For me i They ever have to be crisp chips or just very soggy with salt and vinegar. When you want to make chips to be crispy you should cook them more than once but at different temperatures you start with a low temperature for a small amount of time then recook them on a higher temperature for longer until they are golden brown.

I love mushy peas and tartare sauce. There’s group of pubs in the Tokyo area called the hub and they so are nice but the portion sizes are tiny and very expensive. Japanese don’t know what mushy peas are . And look very bemused when you explain them! From the country that brings you the square melon!

We prefer Paul’s Fish and Chips 27-29 Marine Parade E, Clacton-on-Sea CO15 1UU. Because they can do Fish and Chips Gluten Free as my wife is Coeliac and as far as I know Geos don’t offer this option

Hi Tim I just joined today. To all fish and chip shops in the UK serve only cod? Hearing Canada, you have to ask for the kind of fish that you wanna have. You could have salmon or cod or haddock, or even halibut, but halibut is very expensive.

Tim, have you ever thought of doing a review at the Hemsby Fish and Chip shop in Hemsby Village @ The Street, Hemsby, Norfolk NR29 4EU. It’s away from the holiday part of Hemsby, and it’s trade seems mainly locals……..But OMG their fish and chips are beautiful. You can’t sit, it’s mainly takeaway. I live in London, and we don’t know how to cook fish and chip……old fashioned pie and mash yes but fish and chips no. We always get our fish on chips from here when on holiday in Hemsby.
