There's tons of story elements and characters/ enemies that don't really fit the Mario aesthetic, but work for this game. Also it's fun

Not a Mario guy and Metroid is my fav franchise, but this was a great direct. FYI Mario RPG is a massive announcement. It's a beloved, almost 30 year old game made by Square that, people thought would never see light again. It's smart to have so much Mario to go with the movie. He is the face of Nintendo and it's not like we didn't get a Zelda or Metroid this year. Kinda packed year for the old switch.

Between Mario Wonder and SM RPG, I don't know which one I'm excited for more!! I love the art style for both, the music is also amazing. Plus in the case of RPG, Yoko Shimomura returns (the og composer for RPG)! I guess Wonder is a lot more mysterious compared to RPG in which we kind of know what to expect. I just hope they keep the game's charm such as the infamous kiss and Peach's secret scenes. Also really hoping they keep Culex because that was my favorite boss theme. No matter what I'm still excited for both (even if Wonder comes out a month before RPG)! Also just realized while typing this that RPG lacks "Legend of the Seven Stars" from the title. Kinda odd in my opinion. Edit: Also Also just realized Mario Wonder and Sonic Superstars are basically both the same thing in concept. That's pretty funny to me.

I think "Legend of the Seven Stars" wasn't in the game's Japanese title and was added for the English market to make the game sound more interesting. I guess they're just sticking with the original Japanese name to make things a tad easier for localizers

Here’s my conspiracy theory: Metroid Prime 4 will be a launch title for the next console. Nintendo has Metroid Prime 2 & 3 remasters already finished, so they’ll launch them at regular intervals leading up to Prime 4. Especially considering the shadow dropped the first remaster, I wouldn’t be surprised to see that at all. Still disappointed we haven’t heard any updates though. The last update was 4 1/2 years ago.

A thing I love about the new Just Dance games is that they now have lore (since Just Dance 2023 Edition), and the dancers are now in-game characters with backstories, and when they add new songs it follows up the story they left off.

Metroid Prime 4 is most likely going to be the launch title for the new Nintendo hardware that could be coming out next year. I wouldn't stress it. Mario hasn't had a brand new 2D side scroller in a decade.

I think now is pretty clear that Metroid Prime 4 is a "next Nintendo console" game. Even maybe a launch title for the new system. That's ok, because i bet the new Switch will have a powerful hardware (at least by the rumors) so Metroid with ray tracing ? Maybe a launch title alongside a new 3D Mario (odyssey 2 ?) or in the near release window (like BotW and the first Odyssey)

I am hyped for Detective Pikachu Returns! Tim sounds the same, not sure about DP he sounded a little weird to me, but he always sounds weird when I first hear him. XD The art style could be a little nicer, but I am not overly fussed about that. I am excited for Luigi's Mansion 2 remake. My dad can finally play it. The first one is one of his favorite games. The other Mario games look fun as well.

This direct was ok to me, I am interested in getting Pikmin 4, but I feel that while the Mario wonders is visually appealing, there are already numerous 2D platformer Mario games available but Mario RPG is a win. It would be great if they could develop a Mario Galaxy 3 to offer a fresh experience.

I think Prime 4 will be a Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild situation. It'll be a launch title for the next console, but still release on the Switch because they promised it would. Just like Twilight Princess on Gamecube/Wii and Breath of the Wild on Wii U/Switch.

I legitimately do not think that this is the last Nintendo, direct of this Gen. If they were to announce a new consul, it will be somewhere around this time next year if even then. Despite how old this particular Consol generation is, I legitimately think it’s too early for such discussion, seeing as how people have only just recently started to settle into this generation of consuls. It also doesn’t help that a lot of the next GEN consuls of PS five and Xbox one. X haven’t really been pushing out games that show off what they’re capable of. (the latest game Starfield is a good example of this)

Going to throw this out there but my wild prediction is they'll be a September direct that will focus and tease what's coming the first part of 2024, more details on Mario RPG since it would be a month before it releases, more details on the new Princess Peach game and possibly news on Metroid Prime 2 and 3 ports coming to the Switch. Then they'll have a March direct which they'll reveal news on the new system that will roll into 2025 and they'll announce that Metroid Prime 4 will be the launch title for it with a trailer! Just throwing it out there and I'm sticking to it! :) :D

I think Mario fans were fed so well, Warioware Move It! is getting a bit overshadowed! Easily my favorite announcement from this direct (solely because they showed next to nothing of Peach’s game). If you haven’t played Smooth Moves, you gotta know it’s one of the most chaotic fun motion controlled games Nintendo put out. So glad it’s getting a direct sequel!

To answer your question think like a businessman. With the Switch entering its golden age further supported by one of the most successful marketing campaigns ever (the Mario movie being 15th highest grossing movie when it was mainly made to further promote the IP), it's just hard to see the death knell for the Switch any time soon. As long as the quality of game offerings don't dry up there's still a lot of potential and this is the period where Nintendo will really make bank. Having close to 130 mil consoles sold when it's competitors have about half that combines, and being able to sell a whooping 10mil+ games in 3 days with ToTK is unreal. Of those 130mil systems some are broken or in storage in yet close to 10% of all owners of their system went out and bought ToTK in the first 3 days of release. With the incredible lineup games launched here its going to make a big splash and more consoles will likely be sold. The real money is to he made in software, not hardware and as long as they can keep moving aoftware it would be foolish to rush a new gen, especially when they are making mint. With a Zelda movie in production, we can likely expect 2 or 3 new remakes of old games (maybe even alttp, oot,mm), and 1 or 2 spin-off games announced on the Switch before the sun sets on it. The movie will likely come out before the next gen. Nintendo is probably watching very carefully keeping their cards close as they monitor games sales. It's only when they are truly on the decline will they pull the plug on this legacy.

Regarding scarlet/violet, if the games functioned well then Id say theyre arguably the best pokemon games to date. However, the games are bonkers broken and very unfun to play as a result (assuming the game doesnt just freeze or crash), so they're kinda just middle of the road. Story and characters were phenomenal though, props to the story writers.
