Positional sparring is a key that i feel is overlooked a lot of times. At 52 I limit myself to around 20 rolls a week but the rest is positional and has definitely helped keep my injuries down and recovery up. I also do strength and conditioning 3 days a week along with getting in 20 miles running a week. I enjoyed this podcast.

I disagree a little here. I'm 48 and do train 7 days a week. I roll also 7 days a week and lift weights 3 days a week. It can be done, but there are some caveats. 1, SLEEP! You will fry yourself if you aren't prioritizing your sleep. 2, Big focus on Positional Sparring. Just free sparring is kind of useless after a while. You have to force yourself to work on your weaknesses. 3, Not having kids and a job that lets you work from home frees up a lot or your time for the first two.

I can’t imagine why anybody in the right mind would want to do BJJ seven days a week. I Like to do other stuff too. Lol balance ninja

@@bjjafter40 umm, I enjoy it. I do other things too, cooking, playing Monster Hunter Now, etc. Again, not having kids makes this a lot easier.
