The reason many people accept Islam is that when you read the Quran you will find that, in some instances, God is talking to you directly. I notice this when I am reading the Quran: Sometimes God will be talking to Prophet Mohamed, upon him be peace and say, if they tell you this, do this, but then God will turn around and talk to you directly.

i'm not a very masculine guy, never have been, probably never will be. Yes i have started growing a beard for the first time. but the reason i came to Islam had nothing to do with wanting to be more masculine, as i have no interest in that. but it is a side effect i have noticed, i am just naturally more confident now and don't need to fake it, and people respect me more now because of it, and i respect myself more now. but the true reason i came to Islam isn't for some superficial reason or self-improvement crutch like a lot of these "influencers" like to project on reverts. the true reason i came to Islam is simply because i started taking death a lot more seriously. i have looked into all the other religions as well throughout my whole life, and Islam just makes the most sense.

also very true about the personal connection with the Qur'an. This is especially true once you start listening to the arabic too. then when you can memorize the verses in arabic along with understanding the meaning, that is a truly powerful combination. i don't speak arabic but i'm learning through the Qur'an. i just ask Allah to make it easy for me and Inshallah Allah makes it easy for me.
