Just returned from visiting the Azores. Ferry service from Pico to Faial was great and even a nice ferry port with WiFi and a quaint little café. And only approx $8 USD! Can't wait to go back. Love your videos - obrigada!

I too was born in the Azores (Sao Miguel), my parents migrated to Canada in 1971. Just retired and this video is very instructive and useful. Thank you for the information, this is definitely on my to-do list.

Great video...one thing we came across when traveling from Pico to Faial is we could not take our rental car to the island they did not permit it so we had to rent another car on Faial for the day we were there....just something for tourists to be aware of...it may have changed this was 2019...Viv

Did island hoping 9 years ago ( my last time in Pico) loved it, 2 days in each island some you need more . Definitely recommend it. Also climbed the mountain of Pico and went to the Caldeira do Santo Cristo in Sao Jorge, beautiful hike .

I have been searching all the islands as of late and where the flights land at what island’s during the season because they do switch from Ponta Delgado to Ilha Terceira for the main flights. Love the channel.

If you are asking if you can ship vehicles from NY to Azores, yes you can. There is a shipping company that goes from Newark I believe, not sure. Take vare!

The daily schedule ferries in October are mostly between Faial, Sao Jorge and Pico. I believe the ferry that goes to Terceira and Graciosa might end by then. Take care!

you should probably start by contacting the registe civil (civil registrty, your dad would know) of the conselho(municipality) where he was born.

if he was born in a hospital it would probably be in the main city of the conselho, but if he was born at home it could be in any aldeia/freguesia , and you can contact them, and they can be helpful. the town council , the câmara. google câmara and the town where he was born . birth , death and marriage records are the ones that you can find the easiest.

Glad you enjoyed the video Shelby. It's not easy finding automatic cars to rent or buy, and when you do they are very expensive. The best chance on finding them would be with the main car rental companies like Tropical, Ilha verde etc. Take care!

Hi Darrel! From what I understand, there is no flights from Barcelona. There is a seasonal flight on Iberia from Madrid, this would probably be your best option. So you you would go from Barcelona, Madrid and then Sao Miguel. Go to the Azores airlines, put in city of departure, they probably have code share...if not, go to Iberia airlines. I hope this helps. ryanair flies terceira to lisbon and beyond very cheaply...much cheaper than tap or azores airways.
