This is probably a more realistic peter pan than the versions everyone else is used to. Peter kidnaps Wendy to go to a magical island where all kids can stay young forever at the cost of a detrimental downside. There is even a captain hook in there that becomes Peter's enemy.

Since Peter is shown to still be young at the end it must imply that the mother's magic still works. Maybe it absorbed into the island itself making anyone who stays there unable to age. I like to imagine over the years Wendy either exaggerated the story or the children who heard it changed it in some ways which is how the more commonly known Peter Pan and Neverland stories came to be.

Great ending! I’m sure the place where one of her siblings lost an arm and got his life ruined. While the other almost died, Destroying their relationship while separating them from each other to never see each other again is a great place to be! Also James could’ve come home with his family if he ate the fish. I mean, it was already dying. Eating the already cut off part won’t hurt. ALSO YOU CANNOT BLAME JAMES FOR “LOSING FAITH” when his brother almost died!? What’s the “Mother” gonna do now?
