Hey! Just wanted to suggest to the other learners that you can enable ICMP Echo requests in Firewall settings rather than disabling the firewall completely as no org would allow that. To clarify: Ping = ICMP Protocol.

Hi Kev, Thanks for the amazing content! I have one question, in the last part of the video when you was trying to read desktop2 why did you added the desktop2 to a work group first and then to the domain? what would happen if you just added directly to the domain?
@KevtechITSupport2 жыл бұрын
its was already on the domain but it doesn't see it because of the trust relationship so you have to add it back to workgroup and back to the domain to fix it.

Plz dont give up on your VMs... Sometimes when OS is installing you'll face the OOBEKEYBOARD error... When you see the OOBEKEYBOARD message pressed Shift + F10 to bring up the CMD and implement this commands: 1)net user Administrator /active:yes 2)net user /add Helpdesk Password123! 3)net localgroup Administrators Helpdesk /add 4)cd %windir%\system32\oobe 5)msoobe.exe This will allow you to get in VM as Helpdesk Admin. 😎👌 The VM should restart on its own and install the ISO properly.

Kevin, when the computer falls from the domain, you cannot repair it remotely or you have to go physically to that PC? Can you access it at all via RDP or Team Viewer?
@KevtechITSupport2 жыл бұрын
Pc falls of the domain you access it using a 3rd party tool and you login with a local admin account. Doesn't have to be TeamViewer. It depends on the company.

First question you created a. Help desk account would all this work with the helpdesk account ? I thought that was the whole reason for the IT account? Other question every time u make changes in active directory u need to restart the machine , so isn't a way to do it from the active directory , or how thay will work , need to tell Patty ohh yea u need to restart your machine again. Or what if she doesn't even have access to do that ?
@KevtechITSupport3 жыл бұрын
I use the server account for this video but you can do it with the helpdesk account on another pc that has rsat tools on it. Helpdesk account needs the right access to run stuff on ad but it should work if he has rsat tools and the right permission. Don't need to restart the pc if your changing someone password or unlocking the account. You need to restart the pc if your giving someone access to a folder from a server.

Kevin Bro can you tell me different between create a distribution group in exchange sever and active directory
@KevtechITSupport4 жыл бұрын
distribution can be created on active directory like it can be made on exchange. It depends on the company. We would normally make it on the exchange server. You can do the same on active directory. Hopefully that makes sense.

I do have a question my kevin brother... why can’t i login as a local admin using .\admin and password also i tried other ideas such as domainname\username ... i tried all sorts of stuffs to get inside as a local users and also tried as a domain user but can’t go through .. i am locked out of a domain PC 🥶 so long story short, what are the possible ways to login locally in a domain pc ??
@KevtechITSupport4 жыл бұрын
Domain pc isn't the same as local account. If you forgot both the password for local and domain account on the server than you can't do anything. You need to create the vm again.
@theBATmaify Жыл бұрын
Maybe you didn't enable the admin acount when you made the VM.

Do these videos help if you want to become a NOC analyst? NOC work seems to be more based on networking so should I focus on setting up rasperry pi after finishing up these videos? Some parts of this playlist seem to have networking concepts like when you configured the vms to use a static ip instead of dynamic and using ping. But is it still good for me to focus on AD work if I want to go for NOC?
@KevtechITSupport2 жыл бұрын
This is completely different from noc. That's why it's title helpdesk. We don't really do networking. Two different roles.
@jgsource5522 жыл бұрын
@@KevtechITSupport ah ok. Cause in your resume video, you said how someone got to get a NOC position using the resume, and most of the experience listed there appealed to help desk work. So that made me curious if I should learn this stuff as well
