I don't consider it entertainment. JD has been through too much pain for it to be entertainment. It is, however, interesting and (hopefully) educational for people who believe men are the only ones who harm others. It also seems the only way for Johnny to get to tell his side without "news" outlets spinning the story for her....as they seem to do a lot! I cannot imagine the pain of being abused and then lied about afterwards.

This case and trial is definitely toxic to the social media hungry audience that is so quick to make judgements and take sides and basically within seconds turn into a virtual crowd of obsessed cyber bullies against one person who has done bad choices and mistakes against an ex. It was a marriage and in marriages lots of things happen, arguments, disputes, harsh words, insults and all of the above. She did not make bad choices, she is a serial abuser, the trial gave evidence of that. Mel b is shortsighted and quite ignorant, and can't have an educated opinion without watching the trial. I think it is a bit dismissive to call this entertainment. Johnny has been fighting for years to restore his reputation and livelihood. He could have very well been a statistic of men that didn't survive that relationship. As it is Johnny was a victim of DV and Amber has used that issue for her own gain. Only the fact that the case is being televised is it possible for the public to see directly what is going on and what Amber has done over the years. Usually, information only comes out via court reporters and the line taken is usually that of the woman being the victim. Amber Heard is responsible for the damage in that has been done to women victims of DV. It's no good ignoring men as everyone matters in these horrendous situations. Men being abused is likely less frequent but it's a very serious matter. I hope that women are not worse off due to Amber Heard.

MEL B., I admire you for what you are doing for Domestic Violence. I am a two time survivor and now an RN and an Advocate for DV AWARENESS. As you stated, you haven’t watched any of this trial. I’ve been active in the DV community for over 40 years now. I can assure you that Ms . Heard is one mentally I’ll woman! Johnny was always very private about his life , especially his children. He tried multiple times to do the separation amicably. It was Amber who decided to fabricate a lie, write an Op’ed about Johnny Depp and refer to him as someone who beat her. She took it a step further and joined that ridiculous Me Too movement and model herself as a victim, trashing Mr. Depp and his reputation. He was always a mysterious type of a person, not an Angel by any stretch of the imagination, however, what he did in his private life is no concern of mine or I would think of most. I was on Amber’s side as a survivor and advocate, but after I’ve heard testimony, done research, listened to both Audio and watched video tapes, it’s quite obvious that she is lying! Johnny Depp is the true victim of violence from Amber, that I am now almost 100% sure of. As far as I’m concerned Mel B and Pierce, Amber is making a mockery out of the many DV organizations. How can she lie , yet stand up there at a podium with her phoney tears and pretend that she understands what it’s like to be a victim. She hasn’t a clue!! She knows what it’s like to be an abuser to not only Mr. Depp and her ex wife, but several other partners that she was involved with. I’m happy that her cover is now in the public for all to see! I do agree with you Mel B that she is making it more difficult for true and frightened victims to come forward. However, with that being said, as much as Johnny didn’t want this to be publicized, he wanted his name cleared of something that he was not guilty of . As we all know the press is all about canceling those who never deserved that to happen, they were innocent victims of a silly movement who portrays all men as bad, especially white men! So again, Johnny came forward to clear his name and I commend him for doing so! In one of Amber’s videos she’s actually taunting Johnny saying, “GO AHEAD JOHNNY, TELL THE WORLD THAT YOU, JOHNNY DEPP IS A VICTIM OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE! WHAT JURY IS GOING TO BELIEVE YOU JOHNNY? WHAT JURY WILL BELIEVE THAT I BEING 115 Lbs, WELL I WAS , ANYWAY WHO’S GOING TO BELIEVE YOU? YOU ARE SUCH A BABY JOHNNY! I DIDN’T HIT YOU , I MEAN I DIDN’T HIT YOU WITH MY FIST, I SLAPPED YOU . I SLAPPED YOU LIKE THIS . YOU ARE SUCH AN “ F” ing BABY JOHNNY. SAY IT JOHNNY!! YOU JOHNNY DEPP ARE A VICTIM OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE !” Do you know what Nr. Depp said, he said, “ I AM , I AM A VICTIM OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE”! Imagine how many other male victims watched their once hero ( until Amber tried to destroy that for him) , state that he WAS a VICTIM OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!!? He opened up a platform for so many men to come forward. Many feel embarrassed or that they will never be believed because there may be a noticeable size difference!! We both know Mel B how encouraging that is for those silent victims, don’t we? Those of us who are survivors , who are victims of that horrible abuse realized that he was a victim and it’s ok to come forward. Don’t ever be afraid to do so , that’s for both male and female victims. Out of something so horrible, so ugly and so very toxic, came a MOVIE STAR, A HERO TO MANY WHO STARTED A PLATFORM FOR SO MANY VICTIMS! It doesn’t matter how much wealth you have , how famous you are or how much security you have, you can still be a victim and it’s ok to stand up for yourself! I’m happy that it’s televised because if it wasn’t, we would be lied to by the media, both social and News. Once they are following a narrative, it doesn’t matter who the REAL victim is, that would have been covered up as we have seen over and over again! I don’t think that either one of your comments were fair at all! Shame on the both of you for assuming or judging without any knowledge of what you were talking about. All I know is than any woman who would defecate on their husband’s pillow and refer to it as a practical joke gone wrong, or how about telling a story of being raped with a broken wine bottle and staring at the jury and giving fine details of her supposed rape yet she has no medical records, never sought medical treatment and went on a late night talk show after sustaining that horrific rape, a broken nose, two black eyes a split lip and a plethora of cuts from her back to the bottoms of her feet where Johnny dragged her across that glass and made her walk on those shards of glass that poor Amber had to pull out of the bottom of her feet, yet she never received any medical attention? I also forgot to tell you that Mr. Depp also punched her repeatedly in the back of her head over and over again ( this punching is something that I could relate to! The pain of just the head beating would have certainly been enough to summon for medical assistance! We do , however , know that Johnny Depp lost his Fingertipp that night because his loving Newlywed Bride threw not only one, but two vodka bottles at him that very same night. Unfortunately for Johnny, the second magnum sized bottle that was thrown his way struck the middle finger of his left hand after it had shattered and severed off his fingertip and shattered the bone as well. I believe the first bottle went through a window? Imagine if that bottle had hit him in the head instead of his finger?? It probably would have killed him! Now which of the two stories above sound true? Well, perhaps one could say that it’s difficult to decide which one sounds more credible, right? Well, let me finish by stating that Johnny has pictures of his injuries from that day. Amber states it occurred at night . That’s untrue because there are time stamps on the pictures, along with the dates , another detail that Amber forgot, maybe it’s her sudden PTSD from all of that abuse she NEVER SUFFERED!! Back to this horrific bloody scene. Once Johnny knew he was injured, he alerted his security team. Within minutes there were several people that responded to help him. This included his Dr., his private Nurse and his security, I believe there were two of them. There is a lot of audio evidence during this time after Johnny’s fingertip was decapitated. You can hear all of those there searching frantically for the tip of his finger so it could possibly be reattached. You could hear the Nurse in the background saying, “ WOW, WOW, WOW THERE’S BLOOD EVERYWHERE “! You could hear Amber in the background crying saying, “ I’M SORRY, I’M SORRY. I NEVER MEANT TO HURT HIM. WHY? IS HE OK? I NEED TO HELP HIM”! Her sobbing never stopped. Then you could hear the Dr. Say, “ WE NEED TO GET HIM TO THE HOSPITAL. THEY ARE PROBABLY GOING TO HAVE TO DI A SKIN GRAFT ON HIM. HE IS AT RISK FOR INFECTION”. Amber is still hears crying and talking in the background apologizing. The Dr. Says, THAT’S HER GUILT , THAT’S WHY SHE’S DOING THAT, THAT’S HER OWN GUILT “. He was referring to Amber sobbing in the background. The Dr. Says, “MY PRIORITY RIGHT NOW IS GETTING JOHNNY TO THE HOSPITAL TO HAVE HIS FINGER TENDED TO “! Then you can hear the security come back into the room stating that they were going to move Amber to a different location like back to LA. She fought them all of the way. She kept saying that she didn’t want to leave Johnny, he needed her there with him! Finally they removed her from the house and brought her somewhere away from Johnny. The fingertip was found and Johnny was taken to the hospital where the first of three surgeries were performed on his finger. He also ended up with MRSA , three different times which could have resulted in losing his finger , his entire arm or his life! Amber’s account of that day is very different than Johnny’s, wouldn’t you agree? She was raped with that broken bottle, pulled by her hair across broken glass , punched multiple times in the back of the head, yet all of those people including a nurse and a Dr. was present yet Amber had no documentation nor any pictures of her injuries. I believe at one point she even went so far as to say that all of those people lied for Johnny! Come on now, again, I’m not saying that Johnny was a saint but I believe it’s pretty obvious which one of them were the violent abuser and which one was the victim!!! Amber had made a total mockery out of the DV organizations. She is also trying to pretend that she’s a victim which I am totally offended over . How she is acting is certainly not indicative in any way shape or form , the HELL that a victim suffers . Instead of throwing in the towel and stopping this SS in this Kangaroo Court, she continues to double down and add more and more unbelievable details to her fabricated story. How can you comment negatively when you have no idea what something is about?? The only one who is bringing negative attention to DV is the one who started this whole mess, and that person is Ms Amber Heard ( some also refer to her as Amber Turd 💩 and rightfully so for that filthy disgusting thing that she did in their bed, on her husband’s pillow! Tell me that isn’t a form of emotional or psychological abuse??? My second abuser did sick stuff like that, the only difference is that he left his in the toilet. This is a great summary of the trial so far and explanation of reasons that so many who are following it don’t believe Heard. There is one statement to clear up. Heard didn’t claim to be penetrated by a broken bottle but said that while it was happening (which many believe was a false allegation), she was hoping that it wasn’t the broken bottle.

I think it’s very sad that Mel is basically just ignoring that someone is an actual victim here, a male victim. If she looked at the trial she would see that it’s more than two celebrities going at each other, it’s a victim finally getting to tell his story after having his life destroyed! I hate that Pierce is reducing it to a “toxic” relationship. Yes, it was toxic. It was toxic because Amber exploited gender stereotypes and manipulated a movement for her own gain.

The lack of compassion is staggering. Just to start despite what people may think most trials whether civil or criminal are public. That does not constitute 'entertainment'. Second, Heard has done a massive disservice to the victims of domestic violence. I am not a particular fan of Johnny Depp and as a feminist have always stood up for women and I would say that in my own experience women and their children are overwhelmingly the victims of abuse at the hands of violent men. There are cases, and this is one of them when the facts speak for themselves: Heard is a bully and, again in my opinion, a liar.

The misogyny, by the way, is not evidenced by the support for Depp or the antipathy towards Heard, such as it is. Misogyny, is stating, that she represents all women who are victims of domestic violence and note it well, that this argument comes from thise who claim that women are always lying and the heard apologists asserting without any qualification that she is like every victim. Both sides are being disingenuous. The facts speak for themselves: Heard is criticised because her testimony doesn't hold up and women who have experienced what she is going on about are amongst those who are calling out. She is striking because the truth of it is, most of the victims that we get to see are telling the truth. Let's not forget what happened to Rihanna: she wasn't claiming that she was speaking for all DV victims and yes she got blamed what had clearly happened to her. The other thing she said on the rare times she spoke about the abuse she suffered, was that sense of shame that she'd allowed it to happen to her. That sense of shame at being a victim is almost universal and very often accompanied by taking responsibility for the violence- it's a way of deluding yourself you have control. Women victims in particular, almost always say it was their fault, they shouldn't have made the perpetrator angry, mist violent crimes are committed by a relatively small number of men, that the perpetrators of physical violence very often exhibit other kinds of bullying/ aggression, criminality in other areas is often but again not always an indicator the peak for violence is 20s and 30s. And here is where it gets tricky, I know many females, myself included) who will say that emotional abuse( coercive control, emotional manipulation, lying, financial control) was in their experience than someone slapping the. Of course, I'm not saying that it would be as bad as the extremes of physical abuse. I never forget one woman telling me that the neighbours had called the police after they had enough of hearing her being beaten up by her husband. She, was too frightened to press charges and the police dropped the investigation. The physical violence stopped but the emotional abuse escalated. What was worse, and I can personally attest to this being true, is that at least with physical violence you can show the cuts and bruises. Emotional abuse is torture: it erodes your sense of self and sense of agency. Don't forget they prime you first, so that you're receptive to the brainwashing and they'll do this in a number of ways, including physical violence.

That's not true men are the majority of domestic abuse victims , rarely does any man ever report it and if he does he's not taken seriously. Most of the stats of males being victims of domestic abuse is when police are called by the women hoping the police take her side , the police find the man with visible injuries and take her into custody or the police are called by a 3rd party witnessing the male being abused . Just look at the johnny depp case amber has cut off 1 of his fingers and admitted to hitting him on a recording and yet ppl are debating if she did it ?!!!!!! You couldn't make this up . It's not a zero-sum game. It's not an either/or. As a human being you can have empathy for both and your empathy should certainly not be drawn along gender lines. This trial is not "entertainment". Only the people who want to ignore the lessons being learned want to dismiss it as such.

People are saying it is damaging to women who are abused because they were hoping that a female victim should be believed automatically and without proof (or at least, easily). This trial invalidates that stance. Problem is, the legal system is so bad and unfair that a lot of victims get mistreated, gaslighted and shut down by abusers who are a lot more charismatic, combative and ready to lie during trials. It constitutes a second abuse for the victim. I think that, had Amber not been a complete failure as an actress on the stand and an impossibly bad liar, she would have easily won and swayed a big chunck of the public to her side. And to me, that thought is very frightening indeed.

@@imenehaupt7197 And then there is the superficial charm and manipulation of the cluster B personality. A lot of people are wondering how Johnny Depp could have got in a relationship with a person like Amber Heard and they just don't understand how people with these kind of personality disorders operate with their flattery and mimicry and charm. They are predators, like angler fish they have lures to draw in their prey. Fortunately in a court it doesn't come down to personalities and charm it comes down to evidence. For that reason alone I think this idea that believe in Johnny Depp as a victim because the evidence is on his side is a disservice to domestic violence victims is so misguided. And it also goes to show to people who are being abused how important it is to document this abuse and not protect your abuser. Unacceptable for Mel B to dismiss Johnny Dep’,s trial as entertainment since he is a man, it would be important if AmberHeard was the one abused. She doesn’t seem genuine not a warrior for domestic violence or say anything of value here. Why did she get that recognition?

The trial is making people aware of reality. Regardless of statistics that show 2 women die every week, men are abused and it’s never ever taken seriously. I have been a victim of domestic violence and blackmailed by the abuser who would constantly make threats to call the police (after punching herself in the face repeatedly just because I was leaving her home to distance myself), always being told no one would believe you because you are the guy. This case has raised awareness and hopefully made people more vigilant.

I think she is completely wrong to say its damaging, because false accusations should not be applauded, and in many cases men are not heard in the public. The fact that Johnny has had to spend so many millions just to be heard is insane, and the media should be ashamed for siding against seeking truth.

Also, it was way after the time stamp you put. Thr only time actual skin tone was mentioned was when she talked about her mother being white with blonde hair and that was probably because William was looking for a black woman and also because she's white she went bright red with embarrassment. Nothing racist about it like you're insinuating.

I don't lack compassion and have enormous sympathy for women who suffer DV. I also fully recognise that the legal process for securing justice is a nightmare for victims and is heavily biased against women. Having looked in depth at the known FACTS, the actual evidence in this case, it is clear AH is dishonest, manipulative and abusive. JD is the victim in this not the other way around. AH is doing immense damage to the cause of women victims of DV.

This trial is no where near entertaining. After the biased UK non televised trial which was a disaster, this is what was needed to lay the skeleton to rest, Johnny and his team are well aware of Miss Heard’s wicked manipulating, since this televised trial aired, it has made me and millions of others realise how UK and The Sun were dirty and biased to Johnny Depp. Back then I believed Johnny was the aggressor and Heard was this fabulous model actress. Now like millions around the world I’ve seen just how evil this woman is and was throughout the marriage, and what 15 months of marriage netted her, even after two affairs. Yes MeToo movement needs to distance themselves from her, as does movie giants coz she’s dirty

You know I really appreciate Mel B.'s input. From her perspective it can totally seem like a massive circus of cheap entertainment. From our North American perspective, we love the fact that the trial is televised and that we have access to all the evidence because we value Freedom above a lot of other things, and that includes freedom of information and being allowed to form our own opinions. I see it even as training myself as a future juror, because it can happen anytime and I don't wanna be an ignorant in Court if I have to decide of somebody's fate 😂. This being said, I whole-heartedly support all victims of intimate partner abuse or violence, you all deserve justice, and it's up to the jury to decide who in this case has been wronged 🙏

I think people can be DV survivors, and also see the lighter side of both Johnny’s sense of humour and Amber’s dramatics. I’m cheered by the fact that more people than not are seeing through Amber’s tactics - that shows awareness of the kind of language abusers use, abuse tactics, and coercive control. I’ve seen lots of DV survivors in particular, both male and female, commenting online and seeing through her. One of my friend never actually reported his. Honesty, I don't think he actually thinks he was abused. He kept making excuses for her behaviour as if they were all other people's fault or his fault why she was the way she was. It's difficult to get into his head. He still thinks she is a nice person and only bad to him because of the people around them and because he couldn't make her happy. It's frustrating because everytime we talk about it, it would seem as if I was the one trying to convince him of something that is untrue. How do you help someone with his trauma who doesn't think he was abused by his ex partner? He even goes to convince himself that it was her friends who were manipulating her to act that way with him. It's frustrating and it's sad. It's sad that he never reported it and it's even sadder that he will never recognise it.

I am not terribly familiar with the trial. However, I have seen bits of it. I seemed to have tuned in when Ms Heard was giving different stories from when she first told them. Real domestic abuse victims' stories do not change. I was in an abusive relationship and my story never changed. I think, as has been said by others, Ms Heard is the offender. My spouse was also in an abusive relationship with a violent woman before we met. She gouged his eye and nearly blinded him. He wore the scars she gave him until the day he died. He had tried to get a restraining order against her but was turned down because he was 6' 2 and she was 5' 9. The judge said there was no way a large man could be abused by a woman he outweighed by 70 lbs. He further stated that, in his opinion, men could never be abused by women because men are inherently aggressive and women are pacific, tolerant and more loving than men. I know we females can be just as aggressive as men and we are not always loving and tolerant. We are human just like men.
