Hey Chuck, like the content very much! I retired after 27 years of service in the US Army. Worked a couple jobs retired to work at a funeral home which I still do today while working as a Pastoral Administrator for the Catholic Church and serving the people of God as a Permanent Deacon for the Church also. May God continue to bless you with safety as you drive while keeping your family safe while your away from them.

The line haul life, I just made a trip to NY last week in which I had seen both the sun set as well as rise while crossing the NY PA state lines, always great to see the country and things a lot of people take for granted. My goal for retirement? Hhhmmm, I’d like to find an older truck that needs some TLC and work on getting it ready for that day, something like a Peterbilt 359 or 379, something I can haul a camper and a bass boat around to all the lakes I want to fish across the country.

I live in the Atlanra metro, and I know traffic. "Close by" is defined as 30 minutes drive time, not miles. This is the maximum. 45 minutes is a "a ways out there", and an hour plus is "maybe go there tomorrow". I have no retirement plan.
