Ya know what I think totally sucks? We've gotten to this point, somehow, if you're not SOF you're nothing and I think that's pretty shitty even though I've never served. And then, there is something even worse than that. People act like if you're a Navy SEAL, but you aren't in DEVGRU, you're somehow not that badass. Friggin' media. Both MSM and social media have been the driving force behind this, equally. The less you know, the more inclined you are to think these things and I think it's insulting to the Men and women who wear the uniform. I didn't mean to jump on you specifically, but your words reminded me of something that's been percolating in this tiny brain of mine. I'm sure you were only pointing out that you weren't in an SOF unit. In my book, everybody who joins the military voluntarily and serves with honor has done something special.

1st date and Your 1st kiss attempt was great. How better than to get a seal's serious interest than pop a snap punch. Ha! my 1st date wound up with a borrowed rusty van to her father's farm where we fished in his irrigation ditch for catfish, carp, and alligator gar. Outcome? The van got stuck in the muddy field lane and her father had to come out with a tractor to get me out ... chuckling ... Ha! Van was not important, spending time, any time with her WAS!

I’m a former first responder and your psychedelic episode helped me by realizing that most of the shit we go through related to anxiety and anger is in our heads and can be beat without meds. The most important takeaway is that I’ve been on acid reflux meds since 9/11 and when you said you didn’t have the need to take meds anymore it blew my mind. I thought my GERD symptoms were strictly related to foods. I now realize it’s mainly psychological. Thank you Sean so much for opening my eyes to this.

Great story. Reminds me of my first kiss with my wife. Leaned in to kiss her thinking I was Joe smooth but I tripped on my sandals(which she hated and said they were almost a deal breaker). I ended up poking her in the eye with my nose. 25 years later and we still giggle about that first kiss.
