If you’re not used to them that can definitely happen!🤣 homemade are the most dangerous because you have absolutely No Idea how much THC is in there. With a dispensary it will tell you how many mg’s are in each one. 10mg is normal starting point, even half that. A lot of homemade ones average around 100 or more (from my experience) but homemade are always stronger. Hope you’re having a great weekend🥂

Hey Shawn, my uncle was a Navy Seal in Vietnam and is still alive, living in Dothan, Alabama. He can tell stories for hours that are absolutely unbelievable. His name is Aubrey Davis. I thought you might have interest in speaking with him. My brother, who recently retired, has been working on getting a lot of these stories typed up into a book type format, just for others to enjoy...not for retail purposes. I just thought hey, why not mention him to you in case you would like to have him on. A true war hero that can leave you speechless. Love your shows man....listen weekly! -WIll Griffin

@@ShawnRyanShow I also think that similar to how Katie sat down with Eddie Gallagher's wife, she needs to do a complimentary show that focuses on the wives, since you guys tend to get couples most of the time and the women stay behind the scenes. Katie could have the opportunity to 'Joe Rogan' it (no prior knowledge, just asking questions), going into an interview as a blank slate, as she wasn't with you when you were deployed, then bring it full circle and discuss post-deployment and compare wives' notes. Just an idea.

Retired Cop here....I struggled after my retirement. Couldn't sleep, had to run through a thousand "what if" scenarios before I could leave my house and several other issues that I would try to quell with alcohol. My "brother from another mother" who was also retired and served over seas encouraged me to try the good ole "devils lettuce". It had helped him and basically changed his life. I had a hard time with the stigma of marijuana and the fact that I put people in jail for using it. I had never used any drug in my life and was afraid of what my close friends would think. Things got bad enough over time and I didn't want to take the type of drugs my doctor was trying to prescribe so with the ecouragement of my wife I purchased my first tin of weed gummy's at the age of 50. Just to clarify it's legal in my state. I can't even begin to tell you how this has changed my life. I don't need it all the time but it helps take the edge off and allows me to function when the demons hit. I only take 5 milligrams at a time and it's just enough to take me to that happy place. My wife says that it coverts me back to the person I was before I became a cop and slowly I'm finding my way back and have to use it less and less. It's always nice to see people I respect, like Shawn, who have found that "special brownies" are a great way to recover from past trauma.

HERE ARE SOME IDEAS WATER STUFF: Kayaking, swimming, hazards (brain eating amoebas, parasites), MarOps Stories, knot tying, dry bags, maintaining buoyancy with equipment, bright colors (I heard of barracudas being attracted to shiny objects and of course nobody can see you easily if you're not wearing something eye catching: so the pluses and minuses of wearing appropriate bright equipment while kayaking down rapids for safety), draining your weapon, hazards of running the rapids, wet suits vs dry suits, nylon vs other materials. I listened to people discussing MOLLE vs Alice equipment. The discussion was about how Alice equipment was prone to rotting in wet/damp environments as well as how MOLLE doesn't breath as easily for them so the user sweats more. Water resistant/proof vs not water resistant: Yes your clothes get wet and heavy if you are soaked in cotton based clothing. However if wearing water resistant/proof clothing and if your pockets are full of air then those pockets are causing your gear to float and choke you while you swim. Also, if you're running through water knee high and your pockets have water in it after a swim then you need to drain the pockets or you're slowed by the weight of water in your pockets. So comparisons for water environments or things to consider before making a purchase with that environment in mind. Any survival pointers.

So my topic sugguestion is do each of you have a personal song that describes how you feel about the other person and what genre is it and how often do you play it and when you do play it do you dance together uh, verticly of course, or do you do other activities like just chill out on the couch etc. In other words do you have an ' Our Song ' and/or a ' this is the way I feel about you song ' that each of you have for the other.

Bro I have been following you since I saw your first show. I have many traumatic events I’ve experienced that most ppl couldn’t begin to imagine. I think you’re in the same boat. I also now absolutely 100% would recommend “special” treats for everything from family/friends bonding, talking about difficult things and figuring out how to process said events. I think it’s wonderful that you share these experiences. It is one of MANY things that make this country great. As I live in MD it just passed legal recreational, i have plans in the works to develop a brand and stores. Oh and I’m also a vet too, not like you but I figure that the more diverse the management/owner/partners the more ppl can relate to the brand. Just sayin a fine American patriot like yourself would be a massive boost and as close to a Gaurantee of big success as one could ask for. Thank you for doing such great work at removing stigmas. Doing that allows our society to evolve in an open minded way that I think stigmas stifle. Adapt and overcome is the name of the game in staying safe/happy/relevant/etc. on a side note I feel like I’m writing a letter to a favorite celebrity, I feel a little “fan boyish” doing so. I am beyond willing to offer any feed back or assistance in brainstorming sessions you may want from fans. I’m not sure how all this works but either way I’m a very grateful fan of your shows and endeavors

Thank you for sharing! I've been a Paramedic for a long time. Dispatched for a woman who ate some special chocolates. My partner and I are laughing on the way to the call. I'm thinking Basic Life Support(BLS) all the way. We arrive and are greeted by the woman's Mother who points us at the patient, who is sitting on the floor, with her head apparently being too heavy to hold up on her own.. The patient tells us that "I have been smoking for years, I can handle my weed". Well how much did you consume. "Only 4 chocolates". Then she vomits. I go and grab some Zofran and dart her in the arm. She vomits again. So we two person assist her to the stretcher(she can't really walk, so essentially we carry her), to the ambulance and away we go. She appears to be having some sort of dystonic reaction(shaking, ataxic movements, but not a seizure), so I start a line, and give her Benadryl. Ataxic movements increase. F me to tears. So I break out some Versed and give her that, and the movements thankfully stopped. I discuss the case with the receiving MD about a week afterwards, and he ended up giving her additional Versed until the drugs were out of her system. Long comment, but your story today made me chuckle, especially with the Mother-in-Law stating that she smoked back in the 70's.

@Beau Clark let's see, she's vomiting, and is having a hard time holding her head up. I've seen plates of mashed potatoes with more stiffness than her neck had. So do I put her in recovery position, and let her her ride it out? Risk her aspirating her vomit? Do you even chemist bruh? Benadryl acts as an inverse agonist on the H1 receptors. Zofran works as an H2 agonist. Both work against vomiting. It appeared as though she was having dyskinesia, hence the Versed. Versed stopped the dyskinesia, allowing her to rest in peace. She ate too many edibles. She should stick to what she does best.

My wife made me 4 VERY special brownies in 1979. I took them to my ship, in dry dock, to help with the day (so to speak). My lunch was good, I finished about half of one and left it on the bench in a baggie. I came back and it was gone. My E-6 MK1 Hodges had eaten it (reminded me of Barney Fife) and about an hour later he left and I never heard anything about it. I know he snuck up to the bunk and passed out cold.

Special brownies eh...your stories mirror my own escapades dating all the way back to the late 60's to today. I have nothing to hide tho I do refrain from involving my kids or grandkids. Your ability to reach those who subscribe to your chans makes this fun and great way to wind down on Sunday night. I enjoy your his n her trials and tribulations cuz it's real and quite candid....thanks for the view!

The best part of the ‘special brownies’ is it’s the laughter from the realm of drugs. Nothing like any other classification of drugs. 😅. And it’s still concerned a class A drug. 🤦🏻‍♀️. Thanks for sharing your stories.

I was there for my last Christmas in Maine in 2017. That was the year Maine had the Blizzard around New Years. We even had ‘Thunder Snow’ the storm was so intense. I think we got close to 3’ of snow. It was so cold when we flew out, the jetway at Portland Jetport froze and we could not get on the plane. I think it was -20F..!! I miss Maine… NOT..!! Well, summers on Casco Bay

I’m a fellow vet and love my sampler platters. In my state of Louisiana we just got medical legalization. It’s so expensive but better than not having the option. Maybe do an episode on how much cannabis has influenced the veteran community, the good the bad.

I always watched stories, five hours long or so, where i end up not able to get up, its all so hard to hear, now, this, i couldnt believe it, haha, its like the top ten hoolywood comedies you can find. Antology, man, to speak about it and remind, all life, never ending story, oh my God.
