That’s a great idea! Then use the frozen watermelon balls as ice cubes in water to flavor, keep water cold and then eat as a treat. Thank you for sharing that idea! As I was watching , I kept thinking "That's one very busy little girl! Those brothers will need to watch her 24/7 to keep her out of trouble. I loved that story of her picking the hot peppers even after Daddy told her "No." Eating that hot pepper was the best way in the world for her to learn that when Daddy says "No" Daddy is trying to help her. A note on huckleberries. They are a wild high mountain berry. They grow in the mountains at 2,000 ft or above. They really aren't yet totally domesticated, and I can't imagine them growing in the humid, hot South. People around here pick huckleberries (fighting off the bears because that's one of their main food sources) in the mountains of Idaho and Montana. Might consider a berry that is more acclimated to your zone.

With the okra, you can harvest the big tough pods, scoop the seeds out and make squash seed couscous with them. Dry the tough pods and whirl them up in your blender into powder to thicken soups and stews. Or you can dry them and use them for ornaments, or shake out the seeds, roast them, and grind them for a coffee substitute. The Huckleberries I have had were always grown in the shade of pine trees...They're blueberries for southerners. The GARDEN Huckleberry, annual, is a solanum which needs cooking before eating. And BAHAHAHAHAHA! A baby's natural habitat! Dirt and sticky watermelon juice. I think I'd let the chooks clean out the squash bed, so they would reveal all the squash, which they can't eat unless they are broken or rotten already

I just wanted to let you know there's something else you can do with those peppers instead of just freezing them. You can dehydrate them and then grind them into a powder store them in a regular mason jar and use it as necessary for different foods. It's one way to keep them going for a longer period of time. But you also have to vacuum out the air out of the container to keep them fresh for up to a year year and a half.

My neighbor told me years ago how she freezes okra and it tastes like fresh, just picked. She said after you gather it and its had time to cool down from being in the sun, do not wash it or slice it. Put in freezer bags whole. Then when you are ready to eat, take out of freezer and wash off in a colander. Then slice and coat in cornmeal to fry or use in soups. Really does taste better than if you had washed it and then frozen. It's less likely to get that freezer burn taste that way.

Hey beautiful Hollars, last video you mentioned New Country Organics so, I found a store in Colorado that sells it, drove and bought today. When I opened it and wow, what a difference, the color even is awesome with richness. I immediately gave my chickens some on the ground, they were literally pecking it up as if I'd given them scrambled eggs and fried chicken. Lol...Thanks for sharing about this company and thanks to Buckley's Homestead Store for carrying such a Great feed...

Garden huckleberries form Baker Creek are tomato relatives and yes, they aren't that great. Northwest has huckleberries growing wild that are more blueberries so are perreniel and very delicious. I won't grow the annual garden huckleberries again.

Great to see your sweet little Princess walking and having so much fun helping in the garden! She’s going to need some pink boots lol. Could you be thinking of Lima beans? The baby limas look kinda like butter beans.
