@@regolith1350 I know. But the concept of using retropropulsion to land a rocket on a barge or ship was not something that SpaceX nor Musk ever originally thought to do. When Blue Origin filed for and was granted the patent SpaceX was still trying to recover rocket stages Space Shuttle SRB style, all the attempts of which failed miserably. There's a great Scott Manley vide covering the history of SpaceX's attempts to recover Falcon 1 and 9 stages that way Then SpaceX and Musk saw what Blue was planning for Commercial Crew with a booster concept that reused 1st stages that were recovered downrange on barge or ship. So they decided they wanted to do that, too and so they challenged the patent, but the Patent office didn't revoke it, Blue Origin actually decided they didn't want to fight it out, despite the fact that certain aspects of SpaceX's challenge were denied to them. And so Blue Origin asked the Patent Office to invalidate their patent.
