I live about 15 minutes from Wesley So. There's a shortage of blankets in the area. We all play the London and we're all freezing cold. Wesley can be heard cackling at night, destroying everyone with black in 20 moves. There is nothing we can do.

These queen endings are tough. I believe the defensive strategy is to move the king away as far as possible so the queen can check the enemy king without the risk of getting exchanged. Psychologically, that's a difficult thing to do, as you also want to try to stop the pawn with your king.

That opening brought back some memories for me, from when I learned how to play chess back in the 80s on the Atari 2600. I didn't know any of the rules, and so I set the computer to be white and I'd just copy every move it made. But when first time I saw the computer castling I thought it was cheating, and the first time I saw an en passant move I was absolutely convinced the computer was making up moves and taking the piss out of me.. 🤣

I mean the title may sound like the game was unprecedented - but I mean it is a blitz match, it's pretty impossible to have a perfect blitz game so maybe the title is a bit clickbaity in that sense. What's "unprecedented" is Magnus just scored 10 in a row vs. supergms. Like it or not Magnus is in a league of his own across all formats. I guess the commentary could criticize Magnus more, but I don't get why that should be the video when the man just won vs. a 2700 in blitz to win a tournament of super gms.
@thekurdishtapes83175 ай бұрын
