On the Audi A2 of the same era, the keys would lose sync if the battery on the car was disconnected. Resyncing was something like key in the ignition, turn on to power the car without starting it, hold down the unlock button for a few seconds, turn ignition off, press any button and it should be synced back to the vehicle. Worth a try.

I’m new to your channel, started watching when you got the TT. What a great daily driver for that price! I run two Audis, a B8 A4 Quattro with 221,000 I have put on it. Took it to the same Audi dealership you took the TT to for an inspection service to see how the car had aged. Still have same turbo, EGR and injectors from new. Quite a list of things, some of which I will do myself, others I let Audi do as they offer a 2 year warranty on their work. Look forward to see how you get on with your air bag light. I use Carley for my Audis, great diagnostic tool!

Once your VCDS comes you can use it to do pretty much anything just like the main dealer. You can use it to activate hidden features and even remove certain ones. I removed the seatbelt warning light on my mk5 golf, and added coming home lights as it didn’t have it as a feature. It’s a pretty neat piece of software that basically tells you what is wrong with your vehicle down to the tiniest electrical problem. It’s a saving grace for any VW Group vehicle.

I wanted a 225 for ages, got one through Audi it was mint but was disappointed it as is widely debated not a good drivers car. @@C4793-h3o spot on. That said before Audi did the mass recall the early test cars were actually supposed to be very good to drive. MK3 is a fantastic drive but you can get a MK1 to be a lot better but usually it has to involve putting it on a diet and making some handling mods and it'll drive great. Worst one was the V6, sounds awesome but is so incredibly nose heavy.

Joel love your content, and although its great, I do personally find them a little boring sometimes. I think this video could've been far much better if it was shorter and straight to the point , rather than covering the same things you mentioned in the previous videos. I think you would do much better if you did more "progressive" style videos rather than do 3 review videos of the same car, in a row. I know you mentioned MOT expiring next month , you could technically do it earlier, get that out of the day and start focusing on improving the car and make very interesting to watch content. Been a fan since BMW v12 series, loved all your content, but with this car i think you could do some really crazy cool content ,just at the moment its too long and too much chatting IMO. I’ve done a few cosmetics but the MOT on mine expires on the 4th August. I’m getting mine into my local (trusted) garage for a pre-MOT MOT. Mine only has the one key and a change of battery had it all working fine. I sourced all the cosmetic engine bay panels from eBay and stainless steel bolts as all the plastic ones were missing anyway. I’ve had the N/S driveshaft replaced because I don’t have the correct tool to undo the Audi nut and the gaiter was almost non existent so likely full of dirt etc. I’d really like to send you some pics if you’re interested.

Regarding your too-low top gear: when I lived in Germany, I bought a US-spec Corrado. Top gear on that car only gave around 120mph and it was a noisy car on the autobahn. When my tuner said he could change the top gear ratio for one from a Golf diesel, I had him do that. With tuning, max revs in top gave a genuine GPS verified 162mph and great smoothness and enhanced economy when not pushing high speeds. The cost? Just 300 Euros fitted. Maybe your local VAG specialist can help you.

Very curious on how you get on with it.. I recently saved one from the scrap yard (cost me £320) and it’s a Mauritius blue with a full blue interior as a 2001 with the ARY engine, it turned out to be a none runner with a horrendous noise coming from the engine bay, after a week of spending my breaks changing bits with my burger in my other hand (I work in a breakers yard) it’s gone from a bag of crap that looked rough and didn’t start to a pretty fresh car, she gets delivered to my new address next week and I look forward to getting the headlights out and buffed and a full ceramic wax on the lovely deep blue paint. All she owes me so far is £40 on some shocks off marketplace and £6 on some silicone hoses which had cracked on the pcv and the breather pipes. Once the cars finished I’m giving it my mum.. beats such a lovely car being pulled apart and being turned into a cube. The mk1 to be is the only one I identify as a real TT.. look at the detail in the comparison of this one and the later models.. the brushed aluminium really sets it apart from the newer ones

An interesting series of videos showing the ownership of a mk1 Audi TT at a very cheap price point. I found a mk1 Audi TT (BAM 225) on 135,000 miles with a decent stack of service history in a garage very near to me back in February selling for a good price. Plus it had the polished Ronal 18” alloys. And drove very well. I had the Seat Leon (1m) Cupra mk1 AUQ 180bhp at the time. (The 6 speed) So I had a good car to compare it too. Then got a Ford Mondeo Mk4 2.2D Titanium X estate with all the toy’s. The much bigger boot sealed the deal that particular day. Great car, the Audi TT by the way 👍
