My insulin protocol: Exactly as a type 1 diabetic. If you do this you have done a glucose tolerance test and so on, and you are monitoring your glucose levels through the day !

Hi John and Luke, was using insulin, 160g of carbs(50pro/10f) meal 1h before injection. 1h after a meal and 45min before training 5 ui Novorapid. 15min after injection 20g Carb+10g EAA Shake+ 30g Carb+10 EAA intra. Post workout before my meal another 5ui insulin,(4pm) with 200g of carbs (50pro/0fat) 100c simple sugar carbs , 100g cereal+100g bananna and 100c complex- 100g jasmine rice+25g COR. 1:45-2h after that I had 120carb (50pro/10fat) meal(6pm). Before the meal blood glucose was 79mg/dl . 1:30h after the meal before my final 6th(8pm) meal my blood glucose was 70mg/dl. Had 50g carb (50pro/10fat) meal and 2h after (10pm) my blood sugar finally stopped dropping and was around 80-90. Would you say that the 5ui pre and post stacked up and started dropping my BG drastically?

the pre and post insulin very well could be overlapping and further lowering blood glucose. This is a bit in depth to fully assess in a question on here. Remember eat for your needs and don't just throw more food around training to feed the insulin usage.

@@johnjewett7970 I understand Thank you John, those were my carbs on a usual day and diecided to try insulin post workout aswell. Didin't try to feed the insulin as I would've eaten that amount regardless haha.

The pre/post is overlapping for sure.i would lower it too 4 Iu post/pre. Cause you dont wanna get into the habit of eating more to combat the insulin. It should be the other way around. Take the right amount of insulin for the food you are eating for good blood sugar reading.

I’ve done keto for a few years continually and the times I do have carbs my blood glucose stays elevated for a long time and also my fasting blood glucose upon waking is like 105 should I try to eat more carbs like maybe every 3rd day? To help with my “keto” insulin resistant I do keto because I feel the best cognitively

What insulin is recommended for someone who has 5.6 h1Ac, I don't want to become pre-diabetic (is Lantus good)
@decabeatzHealthWellness
@decabeatzHealthWellness 11 ай бұрын
It depends on your goals really. Take only on training days. Lantus is a basal insulin. It gives you 24 hour coverage. It's a long lasting slow releasing insulin. Dosage depends on your weight and insulin sensitivity and average blood sugar. For ppl with type 2 diabetes its 0.1units to 0.2units per kg/bodyweight. Always start with lowest dose and reassess. That's all without knowing more about you.
