He is a lovely human... Thank you for introducing me to so many different kinds of animals.. His wife is a great human too, she will do just fine in this next stage.

My Mom had Alzheimer's. I was the first of her 6 children she "lost" memory of. It's a heartbreaking, insidious disease. My thoughts are with the Hanna family. May your days be filled with peace, and reasons to smile. Hugs.

This is so sad, I have watched him on TV for years and have thoroughly enjoyed his wildlife shows, they were very educational at the same time refreshing. I will continue to pray for him and his family during this difficult time but I am thankful for the opportunity that I was introduced to him years ago, and was able to enjoy the wildlife shows that he provided. God bless you all.

💔 Heartbreaking for sure. Alzheimers & Dementia are both so, so hard to watch a loved one go through. I loved seeing these special clips and hearing the family’s good attitude though. My best to them all, and of course, Jack. If only aaaall the animals he’s helped and cared for could speak, there’d be more thank yous than probably seconds in a lifetime! ❤️❤️❤️

So sad. Such a nice man. My daughter and I met him several years ago when he brought a lot of animals from the Columbus Zoo to our city for a show. He changed the Zoo which we had gone to for years from a small one into one of the best most well known ones in the country.♥️♥️👍 He taught generations about conservation and animals. Really hate this and send love to him and his family. Must be incredibly hard for them.

I loved watching Jack when he was on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson! I laughed so much about Johnny and those animals Jack brought! I hate hearing he has Alzheimer's. My younger sister has it, too. It's a hard disease to live with and have to deal with. I pray Jack is never in any pain.

OK OK, we KNOW he has Alzheimer's and we KNOW what it does, so now is the time to just send your best prayers and wishes to him and his family....MOSTLY his family. The thing with Alzheimer's , as it progresses, it doesn't bother the person who has it. In the beginning it's difficult because the person with the disease knows they have it, knows what's coming, and can get distressed as they are more and more forgetful and unable to move as well physically. As they descend into the depths of that terrible abyss, they become less aware so they just "are". So, I don't wish to see films of Jack, I don't want people trying to interview him, it's kind of voyeuristic. I will always, love him, appreciate him, enjoy him and how totally hilarious he could be as well as being a wonderful teacher. Suzi is wonderful and yes, people want to know how he's doing and now we have the answer. She is so strong but this has to be heartbreaking for her.

Your "Golden Years" is a down right lie. This man along with many who had worked so hard in their youth are actually robbed of their later years. People truly won't know what the future has in store for them when they get older and so with that said, live every moment in the now. Don't wait until you grow old to settle down. There may never be that opportunity, especially when disease and physical issues arise. Jack Hannah devoted himself to his career wife and family and it's so heartbreaking to know that he was pushed to retire not because he wanted to, but because he had to... and he really isn't in the state of mind to get to enjoy what's left in a cognisant state. His mind is forgetting. Alzheimer's is an unforgiving disease. This is why it's important to cherish what you can do while you're young and not to wait.

I noticed there are videos on YT specifically showing Jacks current state of health. I completely disagree with this. Jack was obviously a Man’s Man and I don’t believe he would want the world to see him in his current condition. I understand the public wanting to know how he’s doing, but a written statement could have been published, or a spokesman for the family could have made a statement, but NOT a video showing how ill Jack is. I can’t understand his wife doing this to him. It’s wrong.
