Well better late than never... it's friday it still counts!!
Daylight saving's time is a beast with my internal clock, not so easy to move that one. This song was great, very stylish in the riffs and the singing. First impressions of the vocalist are that she is a great singer (I can't pick favorites of all the band I've watch so far!). I really enjoyed the song! Can't wait to hear more!

Jack, no need to apologize - you already explained that you gravitate toward the music rather than lyrics. So treat this like any of the other music that you listen to, where the voice is another instrument. If you react and tell us how this music makes you feel, I guarantee that viewers will understand. There are some songs where lyrics are critical to the song's message. But the music is there to make you feel it. React. Tell us. Enjoy.

Kanami (Lead guitar) is the genius behind BAND-MAID's music. She is the composer while Miku (Rhythm Guitar/Vocals) writes the Lyrics. As a band, as you can tell, they are very talented and great performers. I think you will find the majority, if not, all of their songs you will enjoy. As far as I'm concern they have not produced a single bad song in their entire discography. It will be hard pressed to find anyone that will disagree. They are just that good.

Onset is a incredible instrumental. Puzzle is incredible, Kanami has so many riffs in it, and a beautiful solo. Blooming is great, Kanami again has great solos. The dragon cries is sung in English. Music is universal. Love Band Maid. Band Maid, Lovebites, and Nemophila are favorite bands.

You got it right about this song. You don't have to over think. Band-maid is dead serious and passionate about their music. They have the attitude that suggests they don't care what people say. (People could mean those trying to control their musical direction) now they started producing their own songs on top of writing and arranging their own. But they are very dedicated to fans, possibly listen to fans than anyone in music industry... If you love their instrumentals, there are a few. They have instrumental version of few of their songs, too. Don't worry, there are plenty of people who love music without vocals like you. I love both.

Yes lyrics were added. Band Maid have several instrumental songs in their repertoire that they can work into a concert to give the lead singer Saiki and her wonderful voice a rest. Miku also has one or two songs that they can work into the playlist for the same reason. Band Maid will play somewhere in the region of 22 - 24 songs in a two hour show. Originally Play was one such instrumental but Saiki liked the song so much she asked Miku if she could write some Lyrics.

One of the things I like about listening to music from bands that sing in a language I don't understand is how you realise that the voice is an instrument in it's self, and the lyrics not longer really matter. ASFAIK, some instrumentals of Bandmaid are written to be practice song for practicing technique. For example, "Different" side B is instrumental song "Don't be long", which was written for Miku by Kanami according to one of their interview.

Yeah, Don't Be Long was written as an etude for Miku, to expand her capabilities. Miku couldn't play at all when she formed the band (she'd planned to be the sole singer) and has been taught by Kanami ever since.
