@@shiprayadav9409 lol I just didn't understand it as a teen so I really looked goofy as a grown adult trying to work it out 😂 but oh well Lolol. what I've learned from watching different makeup channels on KZbin is that baking works for some people, but if you have dry skin, all that powder sucks up the moisture that you do have and leaves you flaky and leathery. If you have dry skin, no need to use powder at all, if you have combo skin, lightly powder those areas rather than baking. Or those are general guidelines that I've heard. Some channels and definitely Instagram make it seem like baking is good for all skin. Also baking looks great on camera for them, but in-person might look bad. So like, the real rule is figure out what looks good on you in person, and what is good for YOUR skin.

I don't think 2014 is any better or more informed than 2010, it's just a different aesthetic. It's interesting because in the 2010's, makeup companies and influencers started pressuring people into buying more products for their daily routine. They insisted that so many of those products were vital to your makeup routine, and it just so happens you have to shell out even more money to make it possible. The makeup trends of the mid to late 2010's are a bit of a scam. These companies want you buying more and more products so they can rake in the dough. I bought into it for awhile, believing I needed all sorts of skincare, highlighter, huge eyeshadow pallets, etc. I realized how much money I was spending and that most of those products were not that important to my routine. I look so much better now with a more simple look, though I still love my eyeshadow.
