James do you think neck training is necessary?

It depends on what your goals and activities are. I think for the average person there’s a benefit to doing basic exercises. You don’t need weights considering our head already weighs about as much as a bowling ball. Now if you’re doing any kind of sport that places extra stress on the neck then that’s where you would start using some resistance. This could be anything from jiu jitsu, boxing, football to even Formula1.
