Honestly it makes sense for the clippers perspective. Harden doesn't really bring anything new to the table for the Clippers, but he does bring a healthier set of legs. As MDJ said, he's more important for the regular season games whenever Kawhi and PG will be out and if it works out much better for Harden, the two will both be fresher and less likely to get injured come playoff time as well. I don't know why people still say that the clippers got bad here when the only true loss for gain here is the unprotected 1st pick and batum. And they still got tucker in the trade here.

It lowkey makes me mad that Dame didn't get to go where he wanted after 11 seasons in Portland and not asking for a trade or leaving in free agency when he probably should have. And then Harden gets exactly what he wants after this being the what, 4th time or something he's wanted out to a specific team and been a bitch about it?

Everything still depends on the health of Kawhi and Paul George. On the Philly side, I'm more optimistic than you. Tyrese Maxey has grown as a shot creator. Moreover, if the Sixers manage to land Zach LaVine (on account of the Bulls blowing it up), they could be back in the top four.

The sixers are playing great basketball under nurse, look at embiids assist numbers. They are already top 4 in the east and i wouldnt be surprised, with all the hype Milwaukee and Boston are getting, that this is the year that Philly breaks through as the underdog. The worst thing about all these teams trading their entire futures for stars now is that when they end up winning nothing, they'll have nothing in their futures. No stars, no picks - nothing. We're gonna see some teams become poverty teams for straight decades.
@maartenvz7 ай бұрын
We thought that about the Nets and they recovered really fast. Being bad for decades requires really bad management. The Kings come to mind and even they recovered
@JawaPenguin167 ай бұрын
This idea that the Clippers will have NO FUTURE for like a decade is just so funny. Like really? You think rich basketball players aren't going to want to play there? If nothing else we'll always be a great target for free agents. To hell with draft picks when youre based in LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA. The Don Sterling owned Clippers and the Steve Balhmer Clippers are two completely different orgs. Kawhi is proof that a superstar caliber player would choose the Clippers over the Lakers. Clips aren't some small market team like the Blazers or Pacers that can get stuck in purgatory without draft picks.

@GodofDisco7 ай бұрын
"Welcome to New york embiid" will age poorly with all due respect, 60 mil of free cap space and plenty of 1st round picks for the 76ers with what is already on the books, means Caruso + Lavine before the trade deadline or OG/PG/Kawhi in free agency. This is a filler move and is incomplete.

I don't know if I've ever disagreed more with your position then in this video. I don't think this team will play more than 10 games with this "big 4". Leonard cannot stay healthy, George gets hurt every year, Harden is also often injured. Westbrook will be under utilized in this team. This is like the Cavs when they got Wade, Rose, LeBron and Co. Big names all past their prime that won't achieve anything

@@Ultimatezballgo back and look. Wade was injury prone but could still put up big games. Rose was still recovering but occasionally had a big night. Don't act like these guys were bums, they weren't. They were just past their best days. Rose is still playing today as a useful role player, in that same span of time from now all 4 Clippers will be retired. It's not a stretch at all to compare the two. Older Stars on the decline, partnering up to try one more run. Didn't work then, certainly won't work now. If the Clippers actually wanted to be successful they'd have blown this thing up already and rebuilt. This hasn't been a venture that could have succeeded after the first couple playoffs where they faced Dallas early. The league is passing them by and they're too hurt to do anything

@jblassio7 ай бұрын
James Harden has failed in 3/3 teams he’s signed with or been traded to. The Clippers have notoriously bad luck. Harden is as reliable as a Pinto racing on a speedway when it comes to the playoffs. James Harden’s only chance of succeeding is for Khawi not getting injured, also PG13 and Westbrook not bricking every shot during the playoffs, and the Clippers not having to heavily rely on him for offense. So I give him a very liberal 10% chance of him helping the Clippers actually make the NBA finals.😂😂😂

What if the Clippers said no to the PG trade? There's a good chance Kawhi signs there anyway. Even if he didn't the Clippers would still have a budding superstar just entering his prime and who knows what else. Even if the Clippers somehow get a chip with this group they are going to be dreadful for a long time when Kawhi and PG age out. It's going to be Tijuana abortion clinic level terrible.
@Davivd27 ай бұрын
This trade looks good on paper, but honestly this makes the Clippers worse. As a Lakers fan this trade makes me happy because that just means there is one less team to worry about in the loaded west. Westbrook was off to a great start. Westbrook is worthless off the ball. Harden is worthless off the ball for different reasons. Not because he can't shoot, but because he literally does nothing when he doesn't have the ball in his hands. Dude pulls out a lawn chair, sits down and drinks a glass of lemonade. The clippers with Harden playing no D that means that whoever has the ball in their hand on offense, the Clippers are playing 4 on 5 all season long on offense and defense.

@@BestShootermanUbz Petty insults aside *HUG* (Sorry for whatever is going on in your life to make you that way), I think the Lakers are a playoff team. I think that their ceiling for the reg season is 6th place in the west, and I don't think that the Lakers are making it out of the western conference to the finals without some mid season trade magic. Their off season wasn't anywhere as near as good as the "experts" think it was. Taurean Prince was the best piece that they added. Gabe Vincent is still a guy who was in the G league 2 years ago and the rest of the new additions are guys who were thrown away from the entire league. Stay classy my guy. I hope it gets better.
