@UberCrispy I'm not sure what you're complaining but I'm just saying his sixth and first octave notes lacks with capital letters of control to be counted as part of his range, tho the A6 is really awesome too.

mm youre being very generous with hetfield, he can only do g#4 consistently (still a respectable note for a baritone) and nowaydays i have my doubts, you rarely hear him go behond g4. Hes a great singer thou but those higher notes were just moments he cant sing em consistently, maybe he could when he was younger but not anymore
@hectorcheivz41135 жыл бұрын
Nowdays it's more difficult for him, but for example you can hear a solid B4 in Unforgiven 3 and the live Bb4 (in this video) isn't long time ago
@davidhenriques90485 жыл бұрын
@@hectorcheivz4113 hehe i was actually seeing the bb4 video your talking about, its from 2018, sometimes he can go really high with his trademark "howling" notes, he can still rock the house even after all the abuse his cords have taken, metallica is a legendary band and even thou i dont care much for the new material i feel they have already given more than enough to the world
@asdadadsaasd4 жыл бұрын
David Henriques Singer generally not use their top 2 semitone on live performances because you have to be certain for me these notes are A5-Bb5 and is old now may he cannot go anyting above Bb4 maybe A4 because he is use his voice with distortion all the time
@dylanjwebmusic3 жыл бұрын
He makes up for it with his amazing low range and warm tone these days. Not many guys have a consistent solid tone around E2-A2 like he does. Maybe they can hit it but not strongly like he can.

There are several types of Baritone. I don't see the usefulness of a video that just says "Hetfield is a baritone". I mean, he's "somewhere" between James Earl Jones and Bruce Dickinson, but you can't tell me where?
@hectorcheivz41135 жыл бұрын
personally, i prefer not to tell types of voice that are divided yet, (dramatic baritone, light bass, baritenor, etc) each person has different concepts and ideas about each division, to not make confusions, i think it's better just call them as baritone, tenor or bass, without much details
@sorin_ea64 жыл бұрын
he in his late 80s and early 90s seemed like a deep baritone
@MultiKamil974 жыл бұрын

His vocal range is 5.1 octaves?
@Squall65753 жыл бұрын
thats across his career. His lowest notes are in the 1990s, his highest in the early 80s. In the late 80s, it would have been something like 3.5-4 octaves because his voice was young and and still powerful, but anytime after that when he broke his voice in 1990 and 1993, I suspect it was 3 octaves.

B2
@Squall65753 жыл бұрын
@John Callenbach Its pitch shifted UP Im pretty sure. The whole album is up quarter of a step from E standard. But even then, hetfield sang that note in 2012 and they played Escape half a step lower
@stonerscience64373 жыл бұрын
@@Squall6575 it wasn't pitch shifted. It was sped up from the original tempo.
@Squall65753 жыл бұрын
@@stonerscience6437 yea, but the result of the speeding up is a slight shift in pitch which is why ride the lightning is famously hard to play along to on guitars because it’s just slightly higher tuning than standard E

I can defitinly do his lowest notes but I can't go high at all, My highest is Eb4 the memories remain and I struggle do that, any tips for going higher ?
@dylanjwebmusic Жыл бұрын
1. Build your head voice and eventually it will make your chest voice more flexible and bridge into mix voice. A lot of the high notes he's doing aren't really chest they're more of a chesty mix. 2. This is kind of a cheat not a long term solution but if you add more distortion it will enable you to go higher. Use this sparingly though. 3. Diaphragm diaphragm diaphragm
