As a person from Michigan, we do sometimes make the names of companies possessive here, which all started from Ford. Supposedly factory workers in Detroit would say that they worked at Ford’s, instead of just saying that they worked at Ford, because after all it was Henry Ford’s factory that he owned. Eventually the whole possessive apostrophe thing stuck and people started saying stuff like “I just got back from Meijer’s”, a habit that I still catch myself doing to this day.

And I think his idea was that designing to the Nürburgring produces something that is technically correct, but has no creativity, spirit, or character of its own. The underlying meaning of this roast, then, was similar to "tastes like beige sweater," with the added layer that May here made the same mistake he criticized in others of checking all the boxes yet producing something generic and soulless. This response video would have benefitted if May had read the roasts in advance in order to consider them for a few minutes before responding.
